Chapter 818: Chapter 818: Mistake

Nanami was acting far too calm and mature, almost as though he were trying too hard to ingratiate himself with them. His friendly attitude had become so consistent that it started to feel suspicious rather than reassuring.

They even began wondering whether he was waiting for the perfect opportunity to attack first.

After two days passed, however, they finally realized that Nanami had genuinely requested help from Planet Astra.

Jade looked toward Silas as they quietly discussed the situation. "I think whoever is planning to attack us is most likely the team that is about to arrive from Planet Astra."

Silas nodded. "I think so as well."

Both men remained on high alert, carefully observing everything around them.

Alana and Bella, however, had a different perspective. "What if we are attacked during this five-day window?"

Silas shook his head.

"That would be too coincidental. If I am not mistaken, Nanami wants all of us to be put in danger, but he also wants to preserve Ivy’s life, especially considering the child she is carrying."

His eyes flickered as he remembered Nanami explaining all the precautions that needed to be taken during Ivy’s pregnancy.

He had noticed something peculiar at the time. Nanami genuinely seemed to want Ivy’s children to be born safely.

’There can only be one reason for that. Nanami wants to experiment on these children or take them away from Ivy.’

Regardless of which possibility was true, Nanami clearly wanted the children to be born safely. Therefore, he would have to be careful not to make his intentions too obvious.

"That is why I do not think there will be an attack during these next five days. If something happens now, it will become far too obvious that Nanami is behind it."

Silas’s expression remained thoughtful.

"However, if the team arriving from Planet Astra betrays us, Nanami can simply claim that he had no idea those people would turn against us at the last moment."

Jade nodded. "That is most likely the plan."

They decided to wait.

Sure enough, on the sixth day, a team arrived to provide assistance.

The moment they saw the superior beings stepping out of the arriving vessel, everyone was briefly stunned.

These superior beings were extraordinarily handsome and beautiful.

Their skin was flawless, almost resembling polished glass beneath the artificial lights of the spaceship.

Their silver hair flowed freely over their shoulders, catching the light with every movement. Nearly all of them were tall, with well-proportioned and powerful physiques.

The two women were especially striking, possessing graceful figures and symmetrical features.

The men were equally handsome, with sharp facial features and an intimidating presence that was difficult to ignore.

There were two women and five men in total. The moment they entered the spaceship, all of them gave a faint nod in greeting.

One of the women was named Yilia, while the other was named Yang. Yilia and Yang calmly walked toward Ivy.

"Please allow us to check whether you are all right."

Ivy subconsciously placed a protective hand over her stomach.

"There is no need. I am already feeling fine. If I do not feel well, I will ask Alana to examine me. She is my doctor."

Yilia and Yang exchanged a glance before speaking almost simultaneously.

"You may think that, but superior-being children are very special."

The two women looked almost identical, resembling twins so closely that Ivy could barely distinguish between them.

Ivy honestly did not want to argue with strangers, especially when she was already tired from the journey.

"I appreciate your concern, but I truly cannot make myself comfortable around strangers examining me."

Hearing that, Yilia and Yang finally backed down.

Meanwhile, Alex, the leader of the team, walked toward Silas and extended his hand.

"Hello, I am Alex. Nanami has already told me about you, Jade, Ivy, Alana, and Bella. We know about all of you, and we genuinely appreciate that you decided to visit Planet Astra."

As he spoke, his eyes flashed with apparent sincerity. Jade remained cautious, but Silas simply smiled calmly and shook his hand.

"Really? Then the pleasure is all ours."

The team eventually settled down with them.

There were five men in total. The leader was Alex, followed by Mercy, Tanner, and Orchard, along with another man named Billy.

All of them were remarkably good-looking, but despite their pleasant appearances, Ivy could sense something strange about them.

There was an unfamiliar aura surrounding the group.

It was not necessarily hostile, but there was something about their presence that made Ivy’s instincts remain slightly uneasy.

Tanner eventually walked toward Bella. Bella immediately became alert.

However, Tanner merely smiled calmly.

"I can already sense that you have gained quite a bit of control over your abilities. How about we spar? After all, sparring can improve both of our combat skills."

Bella frowned slightly but eventually agreed.

During the spar, she deliberately concealed all of her trump cards and created the appearance of a false weakness.

This was something she had learned from Alana.

Alana had repeatedly warned her that on a battlefield, revealing her true weaknesses was practically an invitation for an enemy to exploit them later.

’Never show your opponent everything you can do.’

After the fight ended, Tanner continued observing Bella for a while.

Eventually, he looked at her.

"You do not need to remain so guarded around me. I will not harm you."

Bella chuckled lightly.

"The last person who harmed me said exactly the same thing."

With those words, she turned around and walked away.

Tanner’s eyes flickered slightly, but he did not say anything.

Alex, on the other hand, seemed particularly interested in making sure that Yilia and Yang remained beside Ivy twenty-four hours a day.

Ivy felt increasingly suffocated by their constant presence.

Eventually, she looked directly at Alex. "I am not interested in having attendants following me everywhere."

Alex laughed it off.

"You may see them as assistants, but for us, they are much more than that. They have already been designated as the people who will serve you after you ascend to the throne. Therefore, they are extremely important to us. Not to mention your children are your heirs."

Although Alex spoke casually, Silas and Jade immediately understood what these people were planning.

’These bastards are most likely planning to take Ivy’s children the moment they are born.’

They probably wanted to gain control over the children and use Ivy’s own protection to ensure that the children survived until they were old enough to become useful.

Then, once those children eventually claimed the throne, they could influence them so that they would no longer side with Ivy.

However, neither Silas nor Jade intended to act recklessly.

Rather than killing their enemies immediately, it would be much better to remain calm and allow the other side to make the first move.

’Let them reveal themselves first.’

For now, they would simply observe.

As long as the enemy took the first step, they would be able to retaliate more openly and freely because they already knew the enemy’s plan in advance.

That was what they believed. And that was their first mistake.

On the fifth day, just as they had completed roughly half of the journey, the spaceship suddenly lost control before anyone could understand what was happening.

The lights flickered violently, alarms blared throughout the cabin, and the entire vessel began shaking as though an enormous force had grabbed it and thrown it around.

Before anyone could react, the five visiting superior beings simultaneously attacked Nanami.

Jade and even Ivy were stunned by the sudden betrayal.

Bella, on the other hand, was already in a fighting stance. Her muscles tensed, and her eyes sharpened as she prepared to attack the moment any of those bastards tried to approach Ivy.

’If they dare touch Ivy, I will attack them immediately.’

However, they watched as Nanami was quickly overwhelmed and cornered. Alex laughed as he looked at Nanami.

"So, Nanami, how does it feel to be betrayed?"

Nanami clenched his fists, his face filled with disbelief. "Why? I thought you were my family."

Alex casually waved his hand.

"We were indeed your family, but the moment you decided to side with humans, you became an enemy of the entire superior-being population."

Nanami’s expression became increasingly grim.

"If you truly felt this disgusted by me, why did you agree to help Ivy become a candidate for the throne?"

Alex laughed.

"If we had refused, how would we have learned everything? How would we have deceived you and brought all of these people directly into our territory? Now that we are certain nobody can disturb us, we can finally show you what we are truly capable of."
