Chapter 2070 - 2067: Ghost Ship

Chapter 2070: Chapter 2067: Ghost Ship

Lin Tian and the others immediately became vigilant. Since arriving at the Blood Sea’s edge, danger had come in waves without ceasing. Suddenly, seeing something else floating on the sea, no one dared to be careless.

"What is it this time?" Shangguan Ao Yue asked with surprise and doubt. As a native of the Netherworld, she too deeply felt the unpredictable danger of the Blood Sea, more perilous than the legends described.

Lin Tian’s eyes flashed, and his face showed a look of surprise and joy: "It’s a small boat!"

"A small boat?" Zhang Lingyu was also delighted and said excitedly, "Are you talking about the Ferryman’s boat?"

Upon hearing her say that, Xiao Manxuan, Mu Yun, and Shangguan Ao Yue also showed smiles of surprise. Finally, they got some good news. However, they were soon puzzled about how the small boat appeared here.

With super vision, Lin Tian saw clearly that what was drifting towards them was indeed the Ferryman’s boat, exactly like the one that appears on the Wangchuan River. However, what puzzled him was that there seemed to be no one on the boat.

As the small boat drew nearer, the other beauties also saw the whole view of the small boat. Although Shangguan Ao Yue was a native of the Netherworld, it was also her first time seeing the Ferryman’s boat.

As the small boat approached the shore, a strange scene occurred. The sea of insects rapidly retreated like a tide back into the Blood Sea. It was a spectacular sight; along the entire coastline, all the insects were withdrawing, their rustling never-ending.

Just as they appeared quickly, they disappeared just as fast. After retreating into the Blood Sea, the "blue light" faded away into the distant sea, vanishing. The coast returned to calm, and the corpses of the beasts disappeared entirely, as if nothing had happened.

Finally, the small boat docked on the seaside. As expected, there was no one on it, and the five of them looked at each other, not knowing what to make of the situation.

"With no one operating it, a ghost ship... should we board it or not?" Xiao Manxuan blinked, staring at the boat with some confusion in her eyes: "However, it seems familiar, so strange..."

Lin Tian and Zhang Lingyu exchanged a surprised glance. It seemed Xiao Manxuan had some vague memories about the journey to the Netherworld.

"Maybe... it was just in a dream," Zhang Lingyu said, pretending to be casual.

Lin Tian turned to look at Mu Yun and Shangguan Ao Yue, solemnly saying, "You two have seen how dangerous the seaside is already. We are going to board the ship and enter the sea now. You can choose to stay on the shore; you don’t have to go with us."

Shangguan Ao Yue raised her chin, didn’t say a word, and was the first to walk towards the sea, expressing her attitude through her actions. Mu Yun glanced at Lin Tian and followed suit.

Lin Tian shook his head with a smile, helplessly saying, "Let’s go."

"They are heroines, who surpass many men," Zhang Lingyu also sighed.

The five of them walked down the hill again, crossed the beach, and came beside the small boat. Lin Tian gestured for the four women to pause, took the lead, jumped onto the boat, checked it inside and out, front and back, making sure there were no issues before beckoning the four women aboard.

The boat wasn’t large, so with five people aboard, it seemed crowded. Lin Tian let Xiao Manxuan enter the cabin to avoid any accidents during the voyage. As she entered the cabin, the little girl mumbled to herself, "Why does it feel like I’ve been here before?"

Though aboard, none of them knew how to sail the boat. Lin Tian didn’t find any poles or similar objects; besides the cabin, there was only a standing pole at the bow and stern, with a lamp and dim light on it.

Lin Tian hesitated for a moment and then reached out to grasp the lamp pole. Without any warning, the boat suddenly moved; it was unclear whether his action had any effect or if the boat moved on its own.

The small boat turned, drew an arc, and sailed towards the deep sea. The shore gradually receded until it could no longer be seen. Clearly visible from the shore, but once in the sea, it was enveloped in a mist, with visibility even lower than the foggy area of the wilderness.

The water below was pitch black, unable to see the underwater situation; in the Human Realm, such sea voyages could always lead to trouble.

The only advantage here was that the small boat sailed automatically, choosing its direction. If it were to hit a reef or collide with colossal beasts like the Giant Pig, there would be no way to avoid it.

At first, it was very quiet around; even the sound of navigation was barely audible, but as they ventured deeper into the Blood Sea, various strange noises emerged from the mist.

Sometimes sounding like insect chirps, other times like beast roars, and occasionally like the wails of vengeful spirits, there were vague shadows floating back and forth in the mist. Yet, for some reason, these "ghostly figures" did not dare to approach the small boat.

"It is said that the Blood Sea gathers the filth and grievances of the Wangchuan River, and it seems true. Those around are likely lost vengeful spirits who, to some extent, can never reincarnate." Zhang Lingyu sighed faintly.

"Can’t they be released?" Xiao Manxuan poked her head out from the cabin and asked.

"Most of the resentful spirits in the Blood Sea come from the Wangchuan River. They jumped in due to excessive obsession or confusion. Once in the Wangchuan River, many vengeful spirits become lost. Those who’ve lost their true selves join the Blood Sea along with the Wangchuan River."

"In the Blood Sea, they’ve truly lost themselves completely. They know not where they came from, where they are, nor where they are going, eternally drifting in the Blood Sea until the end of time."

Zhang Lingyu’s tone was ghostly cold, adding a chilliness to the small boat. None of the women spoke, perhaps all pondering if they might one day become like those spirits.

Seeing the atmosphere growing heavy, Lin Tian deliberately changed the topic: "It’s said that even feathers cannot float on Wangchuan River, yet this boat can sail freely. I wonder if the same applies to the Blood Sea?"

"Why don’t we test it?" Zhang Lingyu remarked casually, then took a piece of dry food out from her backpack and tossed it into the sea.

This was a porous sort of dry food, and it should theoretically float on the surface, but it sank immediately, unable to float for even a second.

Suddenly, a large mouth burst from the sea, accompanied by splashing waves and that piece of dry food. The mouth snapped shut, devouring the dry food before sinking back into the sea.

The women were startled, and Mu Yun seriously said, "It only showed the face above the water, and it’s impossible to tell what kind of creature it is."

"There are many creatures living in the Blood Sea, many unsighted before, and especially the deep sea—it’s truly a paradise for monsters, as only they are naturally suited to the Blood Sea’s environment," Zhang Lingyu commented.

She had just finished speaking when a huge shadow loomed in the mist behind the boat. The shadow was as large as a small mountain and seemed ready at any moment to crush the small boat into the depths of the sea.

Lin Tian activated his super vision. Looking clearly at the full image of the shadow, he couldn’t help but be startled: "It’s a Giant Pig."

The shadow finally swam out of the mist and appeared behind the boat, towering over the five of them, its grim horn, eerie single eye, and massive body unmistakably marking it as a Giant Pig. Furthermore, this particular Giant Pig bore many wounds, some areas bloody and mangled.

It wasn’t just any Giant Pig; it was the same one they had encountered along the shore!
