Chapter 2076: Chapter 2073: Smooth Sailing?
Ying Gou turned his head to scrutinize Lin Tian, seemingly still unable to discern the so-called traits, with a nonchalant face: "Say whatever you want, helping him is your business, don’t drag me into it. Besides, you guys can leave."
The last sentence was directed at Lin Tian and his companions. This time, they weren’t able to break the seal, and he had completely lost his patience, unwilling to waste more words.
"Without getting Ying Gou’s Blood, I won’t leave." Lin Tian was quite stubborn, naturally unwilling to yield to Ying Gou’s few words.
"We are split into two; the blood of both of us needs to be combined to be complete. So, I need to take a drop of blood from you." The Ferryman also stated directly.
Ying Gou frowned, coldly saying: "Not helping me, yet wanting my blood, you all can go to hell."
The Ferryman, who knows his other side best, had long expected this response and simply said calmly: "We were originally evenly matched in strength, but you are suppressed by the sealed power, so you can’t beat me. It’s better not to make a move."
Ying Gou had no expression, flicked his hand, and a Blood Pearl flew toward the Ferryman. He then turned his back to the group and coldly said, "Get out while I haven’t changed my mind."
What Lin Tian and his companions couldn’t see was a faint smile in Ying Gou’s eyes, completely different from his unwilling tone.
The Ferryman also flicked out a Blood Pearl, and the two Blood Pearls merged into one. A faint blood-red light flashed, and the Blood Pearl regained its plain appearance, looking like a seemingly insignificant glass bead.
"Take it. I will send you off Mist Island. This is not a place for you to stay long." The Ferryman tossed the Blood Pearl to Lin Tian and then walked out without hesitation.
Lin Tian caught the Blood Pearl, feeling a burst of joy. Hearing the Ferryman’s words, he couldn’t help but glance at Ying Gou, who no longer paid attention to them.
"Let’s go." Lin Tian greeted the three women and followed the Ferryman out.
Outside the cave, Mu Yun was anxiously waiting. Seeing Lin Tian and the others come out, her heart felt relieved. She stepped forward, saluting the Ferryman respectfully and said, "Greetings, Ferryman."
"Have you seen me before?" The Ferryman glanced at her and asked.
"A hundred years ago, I had the fortune to see you once by the Naihe Bridge, though I did not see your true identity, but I wouldn’t mistake it." Mu Yun replied respectfully.
"Hmm." The Ferryman nodded, expressed nothing, walked down the altar, and prepared to leave.
Mu Yun joined Lin Tian and asked expectantly, "Did you get what you came for?"
"Got it, let’s talk while we walk." Lin Tian motioned to leave together; this place was too strange, and Lin Tian didn’t want to stay longer lest they encounter unforeseen changes.
For a place that could seal Ying Gou, sealing him would be effortless.
"Compared to the Blood Sea, this time seemed easier for you." Mu Yun asked curiously. There were no fights, and it didn’t consume much time. Compared to the dangers of the Blood Sea, it seemed far off.
Lin Tian smiled wryly, shaking his head: "Met a lunatic, nearly failed."
As they walked, Lin Tian recounted the whole process to Mu Yun, leaving her dumbfounded. It was apparently her first time hearing of such an eerie incident, the dual nature of the Zombie Ancestor separated. She wouldn’t have believed it before either.
Such a fact was indeed exotic, akin to saying the Primordial Spirit of the Netherworld King was split. She wouldn’t believe it, as both were of equal grade, extraordinary figures.
"Thankfully, Ying Gou’s evil side was sealed. Otherwise, we might have become his food." Zhang Lingyu also shuddered, considering Ying Gou’s manic personality would likely create more zombies.
The group quickly reached the seaside, where a small boat was moored. The Ferryman stopped, turned, and said: "The boat will take you back, leave quickly."
Lin Tian unintentionally raised an eyebrow, puzzled: "Ying Gou is sealed, could he still stir up trouble?"
"Don’t ask, and don’t look back, just go." The Ferryman urged again.
"Aren’t you leaving Mist Island with us?" Xiao Manxuan asked strangely. To the little girl, even though the Ferryman wasn’t sealed, staying alone on the island was like being sealed.
The Ferryman shook his head decisively, then waved his hand, and somehow, Lin Tian and the others found themselves on the boat. This maneuver truly scared them, and if it was used for killing, it would be effortless.
Lin Tian didn’t ask further, and stood on the boat, giving a distant salute to the Ferryman, earnestly saying, "Thank you."
He sincerely thanked the Ferryman. Without him, who knows how many trials they would have to go through to obtain the Blood Pearl. The Ferryman nodded and waved his hand. The small boat moved again, slowly leaving Mist Island, heading into the infinite fog.
After sending off Lin Tian, the Ferryman’s face tightened slightly. He sighed, quickly returning to the cave.
"Getting rid of those pesky juniors? Dignified Ancestor, now you’re like a nanny, aren’t you ashamed?" Ying Gou mocked.
The Ferryman didn’t respond to this but instead queried in return: "Giving your blood so easily doesn’t match your character."
"What character? Sealed for so many years, everything that should change has changed, everything that shouldn’t has also changed. As you said, I just want to change this fate, it has lasted too long, it should end." Ying Gou didn’t answer directly, his words seemed reasonable yet ambiguous.
The Ferryman frowned, not pursuing the matter of the Blood Pearl, but further questioned: "Was it you causing the evil spirit riot?"
"If I deny it, you obviously won’t believe me, so I might as well admit it. Yes, it was me. Sealed for so long, I have to find some amusement, or I will go crazy."
If Lin Tian were here, his jaw would drop in shock. The mastermind behind the Evil Spirit Tide at the fortress was Ying Gou. Yet such a shocking matter was spoken of by Ying Gou like it was a trivial pastime.
"Do you know how serious the consequences of the Evil Spirit Tide could be? An accidental move could destroy cities. What are your intentions?" The Ferryman was very dissatisfied with Ying Gou’s attitude.
Facing him, Ying Gou’s expression gradually turned cold: "You are free, you won’t understand how I feel. I just want to leave this damned place, by any means necessary."
"I don’t know how you did it, but doing this will cause the downfall of Blood Sea City, devastation among lives. You can leave with a gentler method, there’s no need to involve so many innocents." The Ferryman also coldly replied.
"A gentler method? Hah..." Ying Gou sneered disdainfully: "Did they use a gentler method when they sealed us back then?"
"This is just the beginning. I just tested the power of the Evil Spirit Tide, and if Blood Sea City can’t handle it, then it’s not fun. Believe me, one day, I will have the Evil Spirit Tide take down Fengdu City, and I will become the new Netherworld King!" Ying Gou said with overwhelming confidence and ambition.
