Zombie Bodyguard

Chapter 2077 - 2074: Ambition and Revenge

Chapter 2077: Chapter 2074: Ambition and Revenge

"Although I am trapped here, I know that the Netherworld King and Ksitigarbha have long disappeared, leaving the Netherworld leaderless, which is not a good thing, wouldn’t you agree?" Ying Gou’s lips curled into a wicked smile, his eyes burning with ambition and vengeance.

"Anyone can be the Netherworld King, except you." The Ferryman retorted sharply.

Ying Gou sneered coldly, asserting, "Back then, we ruled the entire waters of the Netherworld, the rivers, lakes, and seas, all under our command. Now, we lead the entire land, why not? The throne of the Netherworld King belongs to the strong."

"Let’s talk about it once you can break the seal." The Ferryman doused him with cold water.

Ying Gou’s muscles twitched in anger, a golden opportunity had slipped away in an instant. The cave fell into silence, yet neither felt awkward, as if such a debate had repeated countless times, knowing it would end in disagreement.

After a long period of quiet in the cave, the Ferryman frowned and asked, "How did you manipulate the Evil Spirit Tide to attack Blood Sea City?"

"Evil spirits are common in the Netherworld, not aggressive, seemingly innocent and harmless, but unable to enter reincarnation, accumulating resentment over time, easily guided to unleash madness."

"Since the day the Netherworld was established, evil spirits have existed; you can imagine the magnitude of resentment built up, they can flatten any city when they go mad." Ying Gou spoke calmly, but his eyes were filled with madness.

The Ferryman’s face was unsettled, seeming calm, "You may be my evil side, but things are never absolute; the fact you remember your past subordinates shows you still have conscience. It’s not too late to stop."

"Conscience?" Ying Gou chuckled softly, bursting into laughter, "Haha, with your conscience, the task of saving the Netherworld and maintaining peace is yours. I am a villain, only interested in destruction."

The Ferryman gave Ying Gou a deep look, turned to leave, and as he reached the door, Ying Gou’s voice came, "Conscience shackles you, thus your strength will never be equal to mine. We are both zombies, unlimited power comes from following one’s desires."

The Ferryman paused, calmly and resolutely said, "No, that’s not the ultimate power of a zombie, you will realize this one day." He finished speaking, no longer hesitated, and walked out.

Ying Gou’s eyes flickered for a moment, then slowly closed, his figure in the cave gradually fading away.

Above the Blood Sea, Lin Tian and his group sat in a small boat, leaving the Mist Island region and entering the thick mist again. With prior experience, they were not anxious, resting on the boat.

The four beauties were exhausted from the series of events, all asleep on the boat, only Lin Tian remained awake. He sat cross-legged at the bow, recalling the scenes in the cave, feeling something was amiss, yet unable to pinpoint it.

"What are you thinking about?" Mu Yun woke up without Lin Tian noticing, walked over from the stern, scrutinizing him.

Lin Tian shook his head, "Can’t say, just thinking about the Mist Island."

"Certainly shocking." Mu Yun, assuming Lin Tian hadn’t recovered from the experience, sighed.

Lin Tian shook his head, offered no explanation, then Mu Yun asked, "You have what you need, ready to leave the Netherworld?"

Lin Tian looked at the beautiful and heroic First-class Impermanence with raised brows of surprise, "Why, reluctant to let me go? Your task is to hasten my departure from the Netherworld, so Lord Zhu isn’t embarrassed."

Naturally, most girls would feel shy from a handsome man’s teasing, but Mu Yun smiled generously, "People from the Human Realm don’t appreciate my concern; my appearance signals death, are you daring enough to provoke me?"

"I don’t know about others, but I’m not afraid." Lin Tian quipped, and they exchanged smiles.

Sitting at the bow, they sailed for an undetermined time until the mist gradually thinned, revealing the coast. The coast was free of beasts, blue bugs, and in about ten minutes, they safely reached the shore.

Once Lin Tian and the group landed, the boat automatically departed, soon disappearing into the depths of the Blood Sea.

"My experiences over the years cannot compare with the excitement of these past two days, feels like having been wasted," Shangguan Ao Yue said, gazing at the Blood Sea with a sigh.

Her words revealed an adventurous spirit.

"Also, I hope Lady Ao Yue keeps the Blood Sea events a secret," Lin Tian reminded.

"Rest assured, besides the five of us, there won’t be a sixth person who knows. Also, stop calling me Lady Ao Yue, it sounds awkward, you can call me by name or simply Ao Yue." Shangguan Ao Yue readily agreed and corrected Lin Tian’s address.

"Is she interested in you?" Xiao Manxuan murmured softly behind Lin Tian.

"Ahem..." Lin Tian nearly choked on her words, pretending to cough twice to change the subject, "We should head back, this is no place to linger."

The little girl behind him prodded with her little hand, seemingly dissatisfied with his answer, yet helpless because wherever Lin Tian went, he always attracted girls.

Even those initially biased against him unknowingly fell for him, with Shangguan Ao Yue being a prime example.

The group left the coast, climbed the hill, entered the Stone Forest again, passed through, and reached the wasteland. Perhaps due to the Mirage Demon’s demise, the plains remained fog-free, and the Winged Human Beasts did not appear.

New Mirage Demons may emerge in the future, but they no longer concern Lin Tian; he can’t manage.

Without the fog and Winged Human Beasts’ nuisance, they progressed rapidly, now taking less than half the previous time, soon seeing the distant Mist Forest.

At the forest edge, several horses wandered, occasionally raising their heads cautiously, surveying the surroundings. Upon seeing Lin Tian’s group, the horses neighed and ran over, four of them racing swiftly, majestic and powerful—the Ghost Warhorses Mu Yun had borrowed.

"Luck is on our side; the horses are still here." Lin Tian smiled.

"The junction between forest and plains, similar to a territorial boundary, is safer. Besides, ordinary beasts can’t catch warhorses; they’re not so fragile," Mu Yun assured confidently.

Shangguan Ao Yue’s horse was there, carrying leftover supplies clearly left by Ziyue’s team. Seeing the supplies, Shangguan Ao Yue exhaled slightly.

It at least proved the Soul Hunter squad safely returned without danger crossing the wasteland.

Lin Tian’s group promptly mounted the warhorses, steered them, and dashed into the Mist Forest. Perhaps Lin Tian still carried the blood and scent of the Giant Pig, they encountered no ambush by senseless beasts along their path.

For the Mist Forest beasts, the Giant Pig was a higher-level being, naturally oppressive, and beasts are keenly aware of this scent, ensuring a smooth journey throughout.

Initially, Lin Tian considered bringing along some Earth Armor Dragon Scale Armor, but the notion was thus abandoned.
