Chapter 2140: Chapter 2137: I’m the Real Victim
"Little brother, don’t worry about us. If you’re tired, go get some sleep. There are two empty rooms in the east wing, pick any one you like." The Fishing Elder waved his hand but didn’t look up, his eyes fixed on the chessboard.
Lin Tian sighed helplessly. It seemed like he, the "guest of honor," was being ignored again. At least he didn’t have to sleep in a cave. The two elders might battle on the board indefinitely; since Lin Tian didn’t understand Go, he could only grab his backpack and "pick" a room.
Regarding accommodation, Lin Tian never fussed. He casually walked into a room; it wasn’t large, with simple furniture: a bed, a table, and two stools.
No electric light, no computer, no TV, no electrical equipment of any kind; the room lacked even a toilet and bathroom. On the table were only a set of teapot and an oil lamp.
Though the room was simple, it was clean and tidy. The few wooden pieces of furniture were of good quality, clearly solid wood furniture with some years.
In terms of value, these luxurious houses perhaps weren’t as precious as the table and stools here, plus that set of teapot on the table.
Lin Tian threw his backpack onto the bed and remembered about bathing. He walked out and attracted the two elders’ attention again.
The Fishing Elder shouted, "Hey little brother, what are you wandering around for?"
"Uh, elder, is there nowhere to bathe here?" Lin Tian helplessly asked.
"Oh, I nearly forgot to tell you. The pipes in the bathroom are broken; you’ll have to get water from the well and make do. If you want hot water, you’ll have to heat it in the kitchen yourself." The Fishing Elder still kept his focus on the chessboard, not even raising his head as he responded.
Lin Tian felt exasperated. Couldn’t these elders take care of themselves? Those broken pipes, not even fixed. He couldn’t do anything about them, so he had to fetch the water himself.
While wandering around just now, he saw the position of the well behind the kitchen. Walking into the kitchen and through the back door led to a smaller backyard where the well was located.
Boiling water was out of the question; as an expert in using fire, how could he just boil water? He drew up a large bucket of water, snapped his fingers, a streak of flame appeared, skimming across the water surface, and the cold well water instantly turned into steaming hot water.
"Master, you’re too wasteful, using purple flame to heat water! I despise you," the Sword Spirit protested loudly.
"This is called natural and environmentally friendly without pollution. What do you know?" Lin Tian retorted.
He looked around the small yard, noticed it was surrounded by walls, with nobody around, and decided to bathe in the yard. After all, it was deep in the mountains and woods, apart from the elders, there was no one else.
The two elders heard the sound of water from the backyard and laughed. The Fishing Elder chuckled, "The little brother is indeed a straightforward person, much like me. Not bad, not bad."
"You really like to flatter yourself," the Taoist Elder shot back.
Once they started quarrelling, the fight on the chessboard became even fiercer, temporarily forgetting Lin Tian.
At this moment, a young girl ran in from outside the yard like a gust of wind, her dress and hair flowing, beautiful and full of spirit. Her eyes were bright and clear yet mischievous.
"Great Grandpa, Grandpa Zhuge, I’m here to see you..." The young girl called crisply.
Upon hearing the young girl’s voice, both elders smiled. The Taoist Elder chuckled, "Our little Shuiyao is finally back. Your grandpa is still thinking about the comic books you brought."
Running in was indeed Ling Shuiyao, looking completely different from her usual quirky self. In front of the two elders, she appeared to be a well-mannered, bookish young lady.
"I haven’t forgotten, I haven’t forgotten. I brought the tenth volume for Great Grandpa. I struggled to get it, and it’s the latest one." Ling Shuiyao put down several books, smiling proudly, looking for praise.
The Fishing Elder stroked his beard, somewhat puzzled, "But I heard from the little brother that these comics are quite common online."
"Little brother? Which little brother said that?" Ling Shuiyao’s eyes darted around, appearing a bit guilty. She feigned taking the books back: "Since Great Grandpa doesn’t like them, then it’s just as well; I’ll take them back."
The Fishing Elder hurriedly protected the books with a smile, "Haha, just kidding. Little Shuiyao worked hard. Remember to bring the finale next time."
"That’s more like it." Ling Shuiyao said with satisfaction, then laughed, "Since the two grandpas are playing chess, I’ll make tea for you. I brought some great tea, personally chosen by auntie."
"Anything your aunt chooses cannot be bad." The Taoist Elder was delighted, looking forward to it.
Ignoring the two elders, Ling Shuiyao ran familiarly into the kitchen, calling as she walked, "Where’s Lin Tian? Wasn’t he told to come up? Could he have gotten lost?"
"Lin Tian?" The two elders paused; then, realization dawned on them, "Oh no..."
As soon as they spoke, a sharp voice screamed from the backyard.
"Ah... Lin Tian, you pervert, scoundrel!"
The two elders quickly stood up and rushed in. As they reached the door, they saw Ling Shuiyao running out with her face covered. Their faces were full of helplessness as they entered the backyard to find Lin Tian holding a wooden bucket covering his crucial parts.
"Elder, was that girl Ling Shuiyao?" Lin Tian asked innocently.
The Fishing Elder nodded seriously, "Ahem, indeed, it’s her. Little brother, you... pray for good luck."
After speaking, the two elders walked out as if nothing had happened, showing an attitude of "it’s none of our business."
Lin Tian scratched his head, not quite understanding the elders’ words, thinking, I’m the one at a loss, being seen naked; I’m the victim here.
He hastily washed a few spots, dressed, and went out, and seeing the two elders nowhere, the chessboard’s unfinished game also remained untended.
Just as he sought traces of the elders, a flash of sword light shot from the side, straight at his lower torso. Lin Tian’s hair stood on end. If cut, his happiness in the lower half would be ruined.
Lin Tian quickly dodged, his body slipping to the middle of the yard. He then clearly saw the sneak attacker — it was Ling Shuiyao. The young girl’s cheeks were still flushed in anger, and she charged at him with her sword.
Lin Tian instantly understood what was happening and couldn’t help but shout, "Hey, I’m the victim. What are you playing at!"
"You dare say, you dare say you bathed in the backyard, you nasty pervert, I’ll chop you!" Ling Shuiyao became more enraged and repeatedly struck out, targeting Lin Tian’s lower area relentlessly.
Lin Tian also got annoyed, dodged close to her, and struck her wrist with his palm. Ling Shuiyao yelped in pain, her longsword falling to the ground.
She clutched her wrist, glaring at Lin Tian, as if her gaze were lethal arrows; he’d be riddled with holes. Lin Tian nonchalantly spread his hands.
"Hmph, I’ll wait for you!" Ling Shuiyao huffed angrily, picked up the longsword, and ran down the mountain, her slender waist swaying enticingly.
What a shame, she’s a Little La Jiao. Lin Tian shook his head speechlessly.
At this point, the two elders finally revealed themselves, poking their heads in from outside the yard gate, inspecting the situation within.
