10,000x Rebate System: Every Return Makes Me Stronger
Chapter 57: Abnormal Dungeon [2]The enormous spider finally stepped out of the darkness.
Its body was almost as large as a carriage, covered in thick black chitin that reflected the pale light around them.
Several long legs scraped against the frozen ground as it slowly advanced, while greenish acid dripped from its open jaws and hissed whenever it touched the ice.
Amon’s eyes narrowed as he noticed something else.
Dozens of miniature spiders were clinging to the creature’s back, their tiny bodies moving restlessly between the larger spider’s legs.
They looked almost harmless compared to their parent, but Amon quickly realized that he shouldn’t underestimate them.
Seraphina raised her staff and concentrated.
A bright sphere of light appeared above their heads, illuminating the entire cave with a brilliant white glow.
The sudden light revealed the spider’s enormous body in full detail.
"That’s disgusting," Seraphina muttered.
Amon tightened his grip around his battle axe. "Support me."
The spider suddenly lowered its body, and Amon immediately understood what was coming.
He rushed forward.
His boots struck the frozen ground as he closed the distance in an instant.
He raised his battle axe above his head before bringing it down with tremendous force.
CLANG!
The spider raised two of its legs and blocked the attack.
The impact shook the entire cave as Amon’s arms trembled slightly from the force of the collision, but he didn’t retreat.
The spider suddenly pushed its legs forward, forcing Amon backward.
He slid across the ice before quickly regaining his balance. "Strong."
The monster lunged toward him.
Amon ducked beneath its massive body as one of its claws swept over his head.
He spun around and swung his axe toward one of its legs.
CRACK!
The blade cut deeply into the thick chitin.
The spider screeched and immediately kicked toward him.
Amon crossed his arms with the axe in front of him and blocked the attack, but the force sent him sliding several meters across the ground.
Before the spider could follow, a spear of ice shot toward its head.
FWOOSH!
The projectile struck its face and exploded into countless shards.
The monster recoiled, and Amon glanced toward Seraphina.
"Nice shot!"
Seraphina nodded and immediately prepared another spell.
The spider suddenly opened its mouth toward him.
A stream of green acid sprayed across the ground.
Amon jumped sideways as the acid passed beneath him.
Wherever it landed, the ice immediately melted and released a horrible sizzling sound.
’That’s one hell of a spit attack.’
The miniature spiders on its back suddenly began moving.
Amon noticed them turning their backs toward him. ’...What are they doing?’
The answer came immediately.
Several tiny streams of acid shot from their rear ends.
Amon’s eyes widened. "You’ve got to be kidding me!"
He jumped backward as the acid splattered across the ground.
One stream barely missed his leg, leaving a smoking hole in the ice.
Amon moved constantly while the smaller spiders continued firing at him.
Seraphina used her magic to freeze several of them before launching another attack at the larger spider.
A large spear of ice struck its abdomen, and the spider screamed as frost spread across its body.
Amon used the opportunity to rush forward as he swung his axe into the frozen section.
CRACK!
A large piece of its armor broke apart, and the spider retaliated immediately.
One of its legs struck Amon across the chest.
He flew backward and crashed against the frozen wall.
Pain spread through his body, but Amon quickly pushed himself up.
’That fucking hurt.’
He wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and stared at the monster.
Amon attacked whenever he found an opening, while Seraphina supported him from behind with ice spells.
The two gradually managed to wear the monster down, but the creature refused to fall.
Its movements became increasingly desperate.
It attacked faster and more aggressively, forcing Amon to constantly dodge between its claws.
Eventually, Amon found himself trapped between two walls of ice.
The spider crawled toward him, blocking the only path forward.
Its jaws opened wide.
Amon slowly inhaled. ’There’s no room to dodge.’
He tightened his grip around his axe.
[Spatial Steps.]
Amon immediately activated the skill, making the space around his body suddenly distort.
Amon felt his surroundings disappear for a brief instant.
WHOOSH!
He reappeared several meters above the spider.
His eyes widened. ’Too high!’
He had intended to appear behind the monster, but his lack of control had sent him directly above it.
In the process, he also lost his battle axe, leaving it where he had been before.
The spider looked upward, and Amon immediately shouted.
"Seraphina!"
She understood instantly as Seraphina raised her staff and created a large ice sword.
With a sharp movement, she launched it toward him.
Amon caught the weapon in midair and immediately poured his Frost Mana into the blade.
The ice sword expanded, becoming several times larger as freezing energy wrapped around its edge.
Amon rotated his body and descended, and the enormous blade sliced through the spider’s neck.
CRACK!
The monster’s head separated from its body.
Its massive corpse collapsed onto the frozen ground.
Silence returned to the cave.
Amon landed heavily and rolled across the ice before finally stopping.
Seraphina hurried toward him. "Are you alright?"
Amon slowly stood up and nodded. "I’m fine."
The dead spider suddenly began dissolving into particles of mana.
Amon felt a wave of energy rush toward him.
Part of the refined mana entered his body while the rest flowed toward Seraphina.
Both of them instinctively took deep breaths as the energy spread through their bodies.
Amon felt his mana furnace roar to life as the refined energy circulated through his body before settling inside his core.
He slowly opened his eyes. "That was quite a lot."
Seraphina nodded while examining her own hands. "The spider was much stronger."
Amon looked toward the monster’s remains.
Something was lying where its body had disappeared.
He walked over and picked it up.
A pale blue crystal was resting on the frozen ground.
Amon immediately activated Merchant’s Divine Insight.

Amon stared at his status for several seconds. ’My mana has increased quite a bit.’
The energy from the spider had clearly been absorbed successfully.
He was about to continue deeper into the dungeon when Seraphina suddenly frowned.
"Amon."
He turned toward her. "What?"
She looked around uneasily. "I feel something burning."
Amon stared at the frozen cave.
"Burning?" He looked at the walls. "What could possibly be burning inside an ice dungeon?"
Seraphina pointed downward, and Amon followed her gaze.
The ground beneath their feet was slowly turning black.
Thin trails of smoke were rising from between the cracks.
The ice wasn’t melting, but something beneath it was burning through the ground.
Amon crouched down and touched the surface.
A faint wave of heat passed through his fingers.
His expression became serious. "What the fuck is going on?"
The cracks suddenly spread several more inches.
Amon quickly grabbed Seraphina’s hand and dragged her away.
"Let’s go."
