Both of them continued staring at the elf in confusion.

The woman remained completely motionless inside the transparent crystal pillar, her eyes closed and her hands resting naturally at her sides.

Seraphina slowly lowered her staff.

"What is an elf doing here?" She took another cautious step forward before stopping herself. "Is she even alive?"

Amon had no answer for her questions.

He looked around the enormous chamber, examining the ancient pillars, the glowing runes, and the strange crystal that seemed to have preserved the woman perfectly.

"Maybe she’s from a different era."

Seraphina looked around as well and slowly nodded.

"That would explain a lot." Her eyes moved across the ancient walls. "This place looks incredibly old, and we haven’t seen anything alive down here until now."

Amon’s curiosity eventually got the better of him.

He activated Truthseeker’s Eye and focused his vision on the woman.

His expression immediately turned grim. ’...What the hell?’

The woman was covered in an intense crimson glow.

It wasn’t merely a faint red outline like the other objects and creatures he had seen.

The red seemed to overflow from her body, almost drowning out everything around her.

Amon stared for several seconds before deactivating Truthseeker’s Eye. ’...Either she is incredibly strong or incredibly dangerous.’

He switched to Merchant’s Divine Insight instead.

The moment the skill activated, his pupils contracted.

Information appeared before him.

Amon remained silent while staring at the unnatural beauty.

It was the exact same thing he had seen when he first looked down into the collapsed section of the dungeon.

’Why?’

He stared at the woman inside the crystal.

The System wasn’t identifying her as a person. It was identifying her as an item.

’Why is the System treating her like a commodity?’

Amon couldn’t find an answer as Seraphina looked toward him. "What should we do?"

Amon turned toward her while deactivating his skill.

She pointed at the crystal. "Would it be a good idea to free her?"

Amon immediately shook his head. "We don’t know what she is."

Seraphina frowned. "She’s an elf."

"That’s what she looks like."

Amon tapped the back of his hand against his palm while thinking. "What if she’s carrying some kind of ancient virus?"

Seraphina blinked and tilted her head in confusion.

Amon continued before she could respond.

"Elves have extremely long lifespans, right? There have been cases throughout history where long-lived races became carriers for diseases without showing symptoms themselves."

His expression became increasingly serious. "I remember reading about the Dark Black Death."

The name alone made him shudder.

The disease had put a stigma on the elves and had supposedly wiped out entire regions centuries ago.

Some of the surviving records described how it had spread through several races before finally being contained.

Amon didn’t particularly want to discover that this beautiful elf had been sleeping inside a crystal while carrying something similar.

Seraphina clicked her tongue.

"That’s not very nice." She pointed her staff toward the elf. "I didn’t take you for a racist."

"I’m being logical." Amon folded his arms. "There’s a difference between being cautious and being racist."

Seraphina sighed and rubbed her forehead.

"You really know how to make things complicated." She turned toward the crystal again. "Fine. We won’t open it."

Her staff began glowing with pale blue light. "But let’s see if we can break the crystal."

Amon raised an eyebrow. "You’re going to attack it?"

"We can’t exactly ask her to come out."

Seraphina took a few steps backward before raising her staff toward the pillar.

Amon crossed his arms. "Use your strongest spell."

She smiled slightly. "You better not complain afterward."

Mana rapidly gathered around her staff.

The temperature in the chamber dropped as countless tiny pieces of ice appeared around her.

The particles began gathering together until they formed a massive blue-white magic circle.

Several layers of runes rotated inside the formation.

Seraphina took a deep breath before pointing her staff forward.

"Glacial Starfall."

A gigantic meteor of ice formed above her.

It was nearly as tall as Amon and surrounded by several smaller blades that rotated around its body.

With a sharp movement of her staff, she launched the spell.

BOOOOM!

The attack struck the crystal pillar, and for a moment, brilliant light filled the chamber.

Then the spell simply disappeared.

The massive ice spear broke apart into harmless particles before even leaving a scratch on the surface.

Amon stared at the crystal before covering his mouth.

"Haha--"

He suddenly choked when Seraphina turned toward him with a death glare.

Amon immediately cleared his throat. "I mean... impressive."

"You’re enjoying this, aren’t you?"

"No."

Seraphina stared at him.

Amon eventually raised both hands. "Fine. It was a little funny."

She clicked her tongue.

Amon stepped toward the crystal. "Let me try, babydoll."

Amon ignored her and raised his hand as Frost Mana gathered around his palm.

A large spear of ice slowly formed in front of him, but unlike his normal Frost Spear, he continued feeding more mana into it.

The weapon grew longer and thicker.

Amon then manipulated the surrounding Frost Mana and began spinning the spear rapidly.

The air itself seemed to vibrate around its rotating tip. "Let’s see how tough you are."

Amon thrust his hand forward.

The enormous Frost Spear shot toward the crystal like a drill.

BOOM!

The impact shook the entire chamber.

Ice spread across the surface of the crystal, and the Frost Spear shattered completely.

’Ah, fuck me.’ He slowly turned around.

Seraphina was smiling from ear to ear.

She cleared her throat before deliberately mimicking his voice. "Let me try, babydoll."

Amon groaned and rubbed his forehead. "Should we just leave her here?"

Seraphina looked back at the elf.

"I don’t know." She hesitated before continuing. "But if we can somehow take her with us, wouldn’t that be better?"

Amon’s eyes immediately brightened. "Take her with us?"

He slowly looked toward the spatial bracelet around his wrist.

His previous assumption had been that he couldn’t place a living person inside it.

But the System had already classified the elf as an item. ’Maybe...’

Amon walked toward the crystal pillar and touched the spatial bracelet with his other hand, pressing it against the crystal.

WHOOSH!

The entire crystal pillar vanished.

The elf disappeared along with it, as if space itself had swallowed the entire structure.

Both of them stared at the empty spot where the pillar had been.

"...Did that actually work?" Seraphina asked.

Amon slowly looked at his bracelet. "I think so."

Seraphina’s eyes widened. "How much space do you actually have in that thing?"

Amon cleared his throat. "Let’s go, babydoll."

Seraphina groaned immediately. "You were mocking me!"

Amon smiled and started walking. "You seemed to like the phrase."

"I hate you."

"Sure."

---

The two continued exploring the dungeon for another six hours.

They encountered several groups of monsters along the way, but nothing came close to the strange creatures they had fought in the hidden chamber.

Amon became increasingly comfortable with Spatial Steps as they continued fighting.

He still occasionally appeared a little too high or too far from his intended destination, but his control had improved significantly.

The two slowly developed a natural rhythm, with Amon fighting at close range while Seraphina supported him from behind.

By the time they finally reached the deepest section of the dungeon, both of them were exhausted.

Amon stopped before a strange green veil floating in the middle of a massive stone doorway.

The surface of the veil moved like water despite there being no wind.

Seraphina stood beside him and looked through it. "That’s probably the boss room."

Amon tightened his grip around his battle axe. "Ready?"

Seraphina nodded. "Ready."

Amon took a deep breath.

The two stepped forward together and passed through the green veil.

The moment they crossed it, the surroundings changed completely.

The familiar cold of the dungeon vanished.

Amon’s boots landed on smooth black stone as an enormous chamber appeared before them.

The ceiling was nowhere to be seen.

Something massive lay on its side in the distance.

Amon stared at the enormous shape for several seconds.

’....A whale?’
