Amon stared at the cultivation method in his hands.

The dark-blue cover was covered in faint silver patterns, and the moment he opened it, familiar words appeared before his eyes.

[Frostheart Cultivation Method -- Second Half]

Amon’s eyebrows rose slightly. ’Finally, found you!’

He quickly flipped through several pages and compared the contents with the first half that Seraphina had been using.

The two methods clearly belonged together.

Amon closed the book and turned toward Seraphina. "This is for you."

He smiled before extending the cultivation method toward her.

Seraphina stared at the book for a moment before taking it with both hands.

Her eyes immediately brightened.

She looked down at the cover, then back at Amon with an unmistakably happy smile.

"You actually found it."

Amon nodded. "It should be the second half of the method you’re using."

Seraphina carefully opened the book.

Her expression changed as she recognized the familiar structure of the cultivation technique.

"The method my mother and I were using made us really miserable." She gave a small laugh while running her fingers across the pages. "I am so glad... that the pain will end with my generation."

Seraphina closed the book and stepped closer.

Amon raised an eyebrow when she leaned forward on her tiptoes and gently touched her forehead against his.

Her voice became soft. "Thank you, Amon."

Then Seraphina leaned forward and gave him a brief kiss on the lips before quickly stepping back.

A faint blush spread across her cheeks.

Amon blinked. "...Wait, that was too quick. Once again--."

Seraphina looked away. "You deserved only that much."

She hugged the cultivation method against her chest before clearing her throat. "We should get out of here."

Amon blinked at her. "Why the sudden urgency?"

Seraphina pointed toward the entrance. "If we stay any longer, the dungeon might finish melting, and then we’ll have to swim our way out."

Amon looked toward the distant passage. "...Good point."

The two immediately began making their way back.

---

By the time Amon and Seraphina finally stepped outside the dungeon, night had already fallen.

The sky was dark, and countless stars were visible above the surrounding mountains.

Amon stopped outside the entrance and took a deep breath.

The air felt completely different from the dungeon.

Seraphina stretched her arms and smiled. "The outside is much warmer."

Amon nodded while looking back toward the dungeon. "I still don’t understand why that place was melting."

"Neither do I." Seraphina glanced toward the entrance. "Maybe we’ll find out when the Adventurer Bureau investigates it."

Amon hummed in agreement.

They started walking toward the nearby town.

They didn’t have to do anything else about the dungeon.

Amon had already texted Richard about the dungeon anomaly, and he had assured Amon that they would look into it.

’...Though, I still don’t understand what that elf was doing down there?’

The streets were much quieter than they had been earlier, with only a few adventurers returning from their expeditions.

After walking for several minutes, Seraphina suddenly spoke. "There shouldn’t be another train back to Langton City until tomorrow morning."

Amon nodded his head. "We’ll have to stay here tonight."

Seraphina’s cheeks suddenly became red.

She began playing with her fingers while avoiding his gaze.

"Actually..."

"Hm?"

"I rented a room in a hotel before we came here."

Amon looked at her, blinking gently. "Only one room?"

Her face became even redder. "I-I could only find one!"

Amon stared at her for a moment before a small smile appeared. "Sure~."

Seraphina looked at him suspiciously. "Are you doubting my generosity, Amon?"

"Fine." He extended his hand toward her. "Shall we go?"

Seraphina looked at his hand before taking it. She smiled softly. "It’s not like I’m afraid."

The two continued walking together through the quiet streets.

---

The hotel room was modest but comfortable.

There were two beds, a small table near the window, and a private bathroom separated from the main room by a wooden door.

The moment they stepped inside, Amon noticed something.

Seraphina’s heartbeat was unusually fast.

He glanced toward her.

The girl immediately looked away. "I’ll... take a bath first."

Amon raised an eyebrow. "Are you telling me that or inviting me?"

Seraphina’s face turned bright red. "Just wait here!"

She began unfastening her armor right in front of him. The pieces came off one by one, revealing the fitted underlayer beneath.

She finally stood in only a thin, slightly damp undershirt and shorts that clung to her body.

She grabbed the towel, gave him one last glance, and disappeared into the bathroom.

Amon sat down on the edge of the bed.

He leaned backward and stared at the ceiling. ’So... what happens now?’

The thought made him grin slightly.

His eyes wandered toward the bathroom door.

He suddenly imagined Felicia’s expression if she discovered how close he had become with her daughter.

"I wonder what face Felicia would make..." he muttered under his breath. "...If she found out I slept with her daughter."

A calm, familiar voice answered from directly behind him. "You don’t need to wonder about that."

Amon’s entire body froze. "...What?"

He quickly turned around and found a smiling face, which made his heart nearly stop.

"How did you--"

Before he could finish, something froze his mind. His vision immediately went black.

---

Seraphina stepped out of the bathroom with the towel wrapped around her body, steam still clinging to her skin and damp blue hair.

She looked around the room. "Amon?"

There was no answer.

She looked around the room again before noticing something placed on the bed.

A small piece of paper that was placed under a paper weight.

Seraphina picked up the paper and three were only a few words written on it.

’Mama needed Amon for something, so she’s taking him.’

Seraphina stared at the note as her eyebrows slowly twitched. "...Mother?"

She looked toward the closed hotel door.

For several seconds, she remained completely silent.

Then her expression became increasingly confused. "Why would she need Amon?"
