10,000x Rebate System: Every Return Makes Me Stronger
Chapter 66: The Edinburgh FamilyThe following morning, a black car came to a stop in front of an enormous estate.
Amon stepped out first and immediately looked up.
His expression became slightly stiff. ’...Holy fuck.’
The building in front of him was far larger than anything he had ever seen before, with several massive towers rising above the main structure.
White stone walls surrounded the estate, decorated with golden patterns and enormous windows that reflected the morning sunlight.
Even the entrance alone was large enough for several cars to pass through at the same time.
Felicia stepped out after him and adjusted her coat. "Stop staring."
Amon glanced toward her. "I’m not staring."
"You look like a village pumpkin, son."
Amon cleared his throat. "It’s just bigger than I expected."
"That’s the Duke’s residence." She started walking toward the entrance. "Try not to embarrass yourself."
Amon followed her. "I’m not that dumb."
The massive doors opened as they approached, revealing a grand entrance hall.
Several servants moved quietly through the hall, barely making a sound as they went about their duties.
Amon couldn’t help looking around. ’Rich people really live differently.’
They hadn’t even walked for five minutes when a middle-aged butler approached them.
He wore a perfectly fitted black suit, white gloves, and a small silver pin bearing the crest of the Edinburgh family.
He stopped before Felicia and bowed.
"Lady Felicia," he said respectfully. "Lady Annette is waiting for you in the garden."
"Thank you." Felicia looked toward Amon. "Come."
Amon followed her through another set of doors.
The garden behind the palace was even more impressive.
Rows of colorful flowers surrounded carefully maintained paths, while several large trees provided shade over a series of stone tables.
A small fountain stood in the center, its water sparkling beneath the morning sunlight.
There were already several people sitting near one of the tables.
Amon’s steps suddenly slowed as his eyes landed on the man sitting at the center.
’...Duke Ragnar Edinburgh.’
The middle-aged man had thick green hair that fell slightly over his forehead, along with sharp green eyes that seemed capable of seeing straight through someone.
His broad shoulders and muscular build made it obvious that he wasn’t the type of noble who spent his entire life sitting behind a desk.
Even while seated, he carried an intimidating presence.
Beside him sat a beautiful woman with a gentle expression.
Amon immediately recognized her, Annette Edinburgh.
Felicia approached the table and gave a polite bow. "Your Grace."
Annette immediately stood up.
"Felicia!" She walked forward and hugged her warmly. "It’s good to see you again."
Felicia smiled and returned the hug. "Same."
Amon remained several steps behind them, but there was one problem. Ragnar was staring directly at him.
The Duke’s eyes hadn’t left him since he entered the garden.
Amon felt the pressure immediately. ’...Why does he look like he wants to kill me?’
He resisted the urge to step backward, but Annette quickly approached him.
She stopped in front of Amon and smiled. She reached out and grabbed both of his hands. "I’m glad you came."
Amon blinked. "...Uh."
The Duke’s glare somehow became even more intense.
The lady turned around while still holding Amon’s hands. "Husband, this is--"
"I know." Ragnar’s deep voice interrupted her. "He’s the scammer who tried to mess with my father."
Amon immediately straightened. "I didn’t scam anyone."
Ragnar’s eyes narrowed, and Amon could practically feel the man’s killing intent.
Before the situation could become worse, another voice interrupted.
"All the boy did was take the knife he liked." Daniel Edinburgh, who had been sitting nearby, calmly lifted his cup. "You shouldn’t be too hard on him."
Ragnar looked toward Daniel. "You don’t have to defend him."
Daniel shrugged. "I’m simply stating what happened."
Felicia quietly sat down as several maids soon arrived carrying trays of food.
The smell of freshly baked bread, roasted meat, fruits, and various pastries quickly filled the garden.
The young woman pulled Amon toward the table. "Sit here."
Amon didn’t have much choice as he sat beside Annette.
The lady smiled happily before reaching for a cup.
Ragnar continued staring at him, and Amon tried his best to ignore it.
After a moment, the young woman stood up and walked over to one of the maids. "Could you bring another plate?"
While she was distracted, Ragnar leaned toward Amon. "Stay away from my fucking wife."
He nodded immediately. "Of course."
’Your wife is the one sticking to me, dumb fuck.’ Amon kept the thought firmly inside his head.
The young woman soon returned with a cup of tea and a plate of biscuits.
She placed them in front of Amon. "Here."
"Thanks." Amon happily accepted them.
He took a sip of tea before Ragnar suddenly spoke.
"Eat your fill." His expression remained completely serious. "It might be your last meal before the execution."
Annette immediately reached over and slapped the back of Ragnar’s head. "Don’t talk like that."
Ragnar rubbed the back of his head.
A strange sound escaped Amon’s throat instead.
"Kuh—"
He covered his mouth, stopping himself from laughing, and immediately looked down at his tea.
Felicia finally decided to rescue him from the atmosphere. "So, how is the King?"
The mood around the table changed immediately.
Ragnar folded his arms. "He’s on the verge of death."
Felicia’s expression became serious. "Is it natural?"
Ragnar shook his head.
"No." His green eyes became colder. "That’s the problem. I can feel that something is happening, but I can’t put my finger on it."
Annette quietly picked up her tea.
"Perhaps the Queen is trying to kill him." Everyone looked toward her as Annette took a sip. "She could be trying to secure the throne."
Daniel shook his head. "I don’t think the Crown Prince would allow that."
Annette smiled faintly.
"Then you don’t know how ambitious the Queen is."
She placed the cup down.
"If she believes killing her own son would allow her to legalize her harem and gain complete control, I wouldn’t put it past her."
Amon sat quietly as his ears were practically working overtime. ’What the hell is happening in this kingdom?’
Ragnar suddenly slammed his hand against the table.
BANG!
The cups rattled.
"I have work to do." He stood up and looked directly at Amon. "Let’s get this over with."
Amon blinked. "...Right."
The Duke turned around and began walking toward the palace.
---
A few minutes later, the group moved through one of the palace’s long hallways.
The atmosphere had become much quieter.
Amon walked behind Ragnar and Annette while Felicia and Daniel followed nearby.
Eventually, they stopped before a large wooden door. Ragnar raised his hand and knocked.
Knock. Knock.
A small voice came from inside. "Come in."
Ragnar opened the door, and the group stepped inside.
His eyes immediately landed on the girl sitting on the large bed.
She looked young and beautiful.
Pale green hair flowed over her shoulders, contrasting with her almost porcelain-like skin.
Her green eyes were clear and lively, but there were dark circles beneath them that revealed how long she had been suffering.
She wore a loose white nightgown that covered her body comfortably.
Despite her obvious illness, her beauty was enough to make Amon pause for a moment.
’So this is the Duke’s daughter.’
Nadya noticed Felicia first. She raised one hand and gave her a small wave. "Felicia."
Felicia smiled and waved back. "Good morning, Nadya."
The others stepped aside, and Annette pulled Ragnar aside as well.
The message was obvious. They wanted Amon to take the lead.
He walked toward the bed as Nadya looked at him curiously.
Then a playful smile appeared on her lips. "So they finally brought me another relic to look at?"
Amon blinked. "...Relic?"
Annette sighed, clearing up the misunderstanding.
"He’s not a relic." She looked toward her daughter. "He’s here to take a look at you."
Nadya’s smile disappeared as her eyes moved back toward Amon with a small amount of hope in them. "You can actually help me?"
Amon could only remain silent as he took a slow breath. ’System.’
The familiar interface appeared before his eyes.

Amon remained completely silent as his eyes slowly moved toward Nadya.
The girl was still looking at him with hope in her eyes.
Amon glanced toward Ragnar.
The Duke was watching him with an expression that seemed to say he had better not disappoint him.
Amon took another deep breath. If he wanted the complete information, there was only one way.
’...I believe it would be better for me as well.’ He thought. ’A Duke’s daughter could help me a lot in both political and economic growth.’
He looked directly at Nadya. "Would you be my wife?"
