The room fell into a stunned silence.

For several seconds, nobody seemed capable of processing what Amon had just said.

Ragnar stared at him as though the boy had suddenly grown another head.

Then the Duke’s expression twisted with rage. "You fucking bastard!"

A powerful pressure erupted from his body and made the windows of the room tremble.

Annette immediately grabbed his arm before he could take another step. "Ragnar, calm down!"

"How the hell am I supposed to calm down when this bastard just asked my daughter to marry him?!"

"You’re going to scare her!"

Ragnar’s face remained red with anger, but Annette managed to keep him from moving forward.

Felicia, meanwhile, had covered her entire face with one hand.

Amon ignored the commotion and continued looking at Nadya.

The girl hadn’t moved at all. She simply stared at him with those pale green eyes.

It was as though she was trying to understand what kind of person would casually propose marriage to someone he had met only minutes ago.

Several seconds passed before a tear slowly rolled down her cheek. "...Am I really going to die?"

Her voice was barely audible.

Nadya lowered her head slightly, and another tear gathered in the corner of her eye.

"Are you doing this because you know I’m going to die, and you want to fulfill my wish of becoming a bride before that happens?"

"No." Amon frowned. "Just say yes."

Nadya blinked several times before she smiled faintly. "Yes."

The moment the word left her mouth, Ragnar completely lost whatever patience he had left.

"YOU FUCKING—!"

He began hurling curses at Amon with enough anger that even Felicia looked uncomfortable.

Annette struggled to keep her husband from charging across the room.

Amon, however, remained completely silent.

His attention was focused on the notification that had appeared before his eyes.

---

[Wife Registration Complete.]

[New Wife Registered: Nadya Edinburgh]

[Wife Bond System Activated.]

---

’It worked.’

Amon immediately opened the Wife Bond System and looked through Nadya’s information.

His expression slowly became serious.

---

[Wife Status]

[Name: Nadya Edinburgh]

[Age: 18]

[Strength: 5]

[Agility: 6]

[Vitality: 5]

[Endurance: 4]

[Mana: 7]

[Spirit: 100 -- Corrupted]

[Condition: Severe Spirit Corruption]

---

Amon stared at the numbers. ’...These stats are terrible.’

Almost everything was around five, with her Spirit being the only abnormal value.

But even that wasn’t something to celebrate.

The word Corrupted beside it made the high Spirit value look more like a curse than an advantage.

Amon immediately asked the System. ’What’s wrong with her?’

The response appeared before his eyes.

[The target is suffering from a severe memory-related spirit disorder.]

’What does that mean?’ Amon thought to himself.

[Foreign memories are being continuously injected into the target’s spirit.]

[The target’s body cannot properly accommodate these memories due to the restrictions of the current world.]

[The rejection between the foreign memories and the target’s existing spirit is causing progressive Spirit Corruption.]

[If the process continues, the target’s spirit will eventually collapse.]

Amon’s eyes narrowed. ’She’s dying because her body is rejecting those memories?’

That explanation raised even more questions.

’Is she a transmigrator like me?’ Amon glanced toward Nadya.

’Or did she regress from the future? Or did someone from an entirely different world somehow enter her body?’

None of the possibilities could be confirmed yet.

Amon slowly looked at Nadya again, and the girl was already watching him.

There was no fear in her expression anymore.

She simply stared at him with a strange calmness, as though she was waiting to see how much he had discovered.

Amon asked the System another question. ’Does she know about these memories?’

The answer came immediately.

[Yes.]

Amon’s eyes narrowed, thinking of another possibility. ’...So, is she deliberately pretending to be sick?’

Amon turned toward the others. "Can you all leave us alone for a little while?"

Ragnar immediately glared at him.

"Absolutely not." The Duke stepped forward, his expression filled with suspicion. "I wouldn’t leave a pervert like you alone with my daughter."

Amon’s eyebrow twitched. ’Why does everyone keep calling me that?’

He ignored Ragnar and turned toward Nadya. "If I’m going to explain your condition to them, I need to know whether you’re comfortable with that."

Nadya remained silent for a moment, her innocent expression suddenly cracking.

It lasted only for a brief instant, but Amon caught it.

She blinked and looked toward her family.

"Father, Mother." Her voice became gentle again. "Could you please leave us alone?"

Ragnar immediately shook his head. "Nadya, I don’t think--"

"Please."

The Duke stopped, and Annette gently placed a hand on his shoulder.

"Let’s go."

Ragnar looked at his daughter before reluctantly stepping toward the door.

Felicia remained behind for another few seconds.

She stared directly at Amon, her eyes carrying a warning that didn’t need to be spoken.

Eventually, she followed the others outside.

The door closed, and silence returned to the room.

Amon dragged a nearby chair toward the bed and sat down, while Nadya leaned against the headboard and watched him carefully.

For several seconds, neither of them spoke.

After a while, Amon finally broke the silence. "So, are you trying to take over this girl’s body?"

Nadya’s eyes changed instantly.

Her hand moved toward the small knife resting beside the plate of apples.

She grabbed it and lunged while Amon reacted immediately.

He raised his hand to block the attack as the knife plunged into his palm.

Blood immediately trickled down his wrist.

Nadya’s expression remained calm as she tried to pull the knife free, but Amon grabbed her wrist and yanked the weapon away.

He twisted her arm aside and raised the knife, its sharp tip touching her throat.

Amon’s expression became cold. "What you’re doing is killing this girl’s body."

Nadya didn’t struggle.

"This is my body." Her voice remained completely calm. "There is no other girl."

Amon stared at her. ’...So she really did regress from the future?’

He couldn’t be certain yet, so he kept the knife where it was.

A small drop of blood rolled down Nadya’s neck. "You know what’s happening to your body, don’t you?"

"Spirit corruption." She didn’t hesitate. "I have at most a year left."

Amon studied her face.

She wasn’t frightened despite having a knife against her throat.

That level of confidence meant she knew considerably more than she had allowed her family to believe.

"Judging from how confident you are, you must know how to solve your problem."

Nadya nodded. "I do."

Amon slowly lowered the knife but didn’t completely relax. "It must be related to Spirit cultivation."

Nadya’s eyes narrowed slightly.

"Yes." She took a slow breath. "I either need someone proficient in Spirit cultivation, or an Azure Spirit Stone."

Amon smiled. ’I’m glad I didn’t sell those.’

He finally lowered the knife and leaned back in the chair. "Then let’s make a deal."

Nadya looked at him curiously.

"Your father isn’t going to believe whatever explanation you give him about your memories, so we’ll create a common lie that both of us can use."

She tilted her head. "You’re talking as if we’re going to be sticking together."

Amon shrugged. "I have my own reasons for wanting to stay close to you."

Nadya studied him for several seconds before speaking. "I’ll accept your terms if you can bring someone who is proficient in Spirit cultivation."

Amon immediately understood the hidden meaning behind her words. ’That’s a trap.’

Spirit was an extremely rare primary affinity among humans.

There probably weren’t even a hundred people in the human kingdoms who had Spirit as their main affinity, and the elves were the race most naturally suited to Spirit cultivation.

The problem was that elves rarely helped humans with such matters.

Nadya knew that. She was essentially asking him to find someone who was almost impossible to locate.

She probably expected him to fail and eventually leave her alone.

Amon smiled. "Fine."

Nadya’s expression grew suspicious. "You agree?"

"Of course."

Amon leaned back in the chair. "We’ll figure out the details of what we’re going to tell your family."

The two spent several minutes discussing their story.

They decided that Amon would tell the family that he had discovered the nature of Nadya’s condition and that he needed time to investigate the proper treatment.

The matter concerning her memories would remain completely hidden.

Once they had agreed on their story, Amon stood up.

He reached into his spatial bracelet and pulled out the Spirit cultivation method he had recovered from the dungeon.

He then took out the Azure Spirit Stone.

Both items landed gently on the bed. "This is for you."

Nadya stared at them.

Her expression remained emotionless for several seconds before her eyes widened.

She immediately recognized the value of what was sitting in front of her. "This..."

She carefully picked up the cultivation method.

Her fingers traced the cover as though she wanted to make certain that it was real.

Then her gaze moved toward the Azure Spirit Stone.

Amon smiled. "Use them properly."

Nadya looked at him without saying anything.

Amon turned toward the door.

A notification suddenly appeared in front of his eyes.

---

[Tenfold Return Activated.]

[Genuine investment toward registered wife detected.]

[.....]

---

Amon’s grin appeared for a moment. ’Nice!’

He dismissed the notification and reached for the door.

However, just before he stepped outside, his expression changed.

The smile disappeared from his face as he opened the door.

Ragnar was standing directly outside.

The Duke’s arms were crossed, and the moment his eyes landed on Amon, the pressure around him became noticeably heavier.

"What happened to my daughter?"
