Chapter 201: The True Heir Returns (Part - 4)Gu Bao stared at Gu Fan for several breaths. His brain stopped working for a second.
’Why is he still alive?’ The ground under Gu Bao seems to have slipped as he looked at Gu Fan and then at his mother, ’Mother said she would take care of it.’
’Mother?!’ Gu Bao looked at his mother with a confused gaze but when he looked at her, he found his mother staring in Gu Fan’s direction but the look on her face was... It was complicated to explain.
But he soon relaxed. His mother always played the long. If this cripple was still alive, it was most likely because she had some use for him.
"Well, well..." Finally his lips curled upward, "If it isn’t the cripple."
Hearing someone sneer his way, Gu Fan stopped and with his half closed eyes, looked in Gu Bao’s direction.
Then he looked around the hall and finally, he pointed at himself.
"You are talking to me?"
Gu Fan looked as though he was still half asleep and truth be told, he had just indeed woken up.
He was wearing a loose, slightly unbuttoned black silk robe that baely hung over his shoulder, and his messy hair fell over his forehead.
But there was a satisfied smile on his face.
And why not. He started his day by waking up in Madam Li’s arms and by the time Madam Li left, they had already gone two rounds and he pumped her pussy with enough seed that she had to go back to her courtyard with his cum trailing along her thighs.
On the other hand, after Li Hua left his courtyard, Gu Fan had returned to bed because the clan meeting sounded boring.
Unfortunately, a servant had eventually arrived and informed him that all young masters currently inside the clan were required to attend.
Gu Bao let go of his mother’s hand and took a heavy step towards Gu fan, a vicious sneer forming on his lips.
"This is no place for a bastard son to just crawl into!" Gu Bao roared, pointing his finger at Gu Fan’s face, "Guards! Break this fool’s legs and throw him out into the trash where he belongs!"
After giving the orders, Gu Bao expected the guards to immediately rush forward and trample Gu Fan for interrupting the assembly.
But exactly as his voice died down the hall, a mind-boggling sequence of events unfolded right in front of his eyes.
The guards did not move a single inch to follow his orders. Instead, the Third Elder, the Second Elder, and every other elder who belonged to the Matriarch’s faction immediately stood up from their luxurious wooden chairs.
And without a single ounce of hesitation, the powerful elders bowed their heads deeply, actively cupping their fists in pure, unadulterated respect as they faced Gu Fan.
"Welcome, Young Master Fan!" the Third Elder announced loudly, his highly respectful voice entirely lacking the usual arrogant disdain the elders normally reserved for the younger generation.
"Greetings, Young Master Fan!" The rest of Madam Li’s loyal elders echoed in absolute unison, their unified voices completely drowning out Gu Bao’s aggressive shouting.
Even those who sided behind Gu Chen stood up, though they did not greet Gu fan like the others.
Gu Bao’s jaw dropped open as his brain short-circuited. He rapidly blinked his eyes, staring at the highly respected, ruthless elders actively bowing their heads to the clan’s absolute biggest laughingstock.
"What... What are you all doing?" Gu Bao stammered, unable to comprehend the impossible scene in front of him, "Have you old fools completely lost your minds?! He is a crippled piece of trash! He is a bastard."
"You did not even greet me, the true heir, your patriarch. But you grovel in front of him?" Gu Bao yelled, frantically throwing his arms around, "Him?"
But little did the poor guy know that this wasn’t the final blow the Heavens had prepared for his fragile ego.
Because Madam Li ignored his confused shouting, her beautiful face instantly dropped its cold Matriarch mask as she gracefully walked right past her son exactly as if he didn’t even exist.
She walked directly toward Gu Fan, a highly affectionate smile blooming across her stunning face.
Not the cold smile she used during clan meetings. Not the polite smile she would occasionally give the elders.
It was a warm smile that could melt thousand year old glaciers.
"Fan’er." Madam Li called out, and Gu Bao’s frantic cries died in his throat.
"You finally came." Madam Li said, making Gu Fan scratch his neck with a sheepish smile.
"I fell asleep after you know," Gu Fan told her.
"I had a hunch," Madam Li shook her head as if she had already anticipated that.
"You sent the maid to get me?" Gu Fan asked.
"You would have slept until evening."
"That was the plan."
Li Hua sighed, but she was still smiling, "You should pay more attention to clan matters. It will come in handy later."
’Come in handy later?’ His mother’s words echoed through his head as Gu Bao thought about the
The Snow Ginseng.
The Phoenix Blood Jade.
The Seven-Coloured Spirit Silk.
And the two other gifts he could not even show her. None of those rare and expensive gifts was enough for her to even look at them twice.
But she was smiling looking at that ugly face of his bastard brother?
’Why?’
"You still took your sweet time getting here, Gu Fan," Madam Li spoke softly, her highly melodic voice.
Gu Fan simply smirked, heavily amused by the chaotic scene as he casually reached his large hand forward, entirely ignoring the entire upper echelon of the clan to playfully pinch the supreme Matriarch’s soft cheek.
The hall went silent at the blasphemous sight.
No one dared to even breathe as they looked at Gu fan and his hand resting on madam Li’s cheek, counting in their heads the time it would remain attached to his body.
But they continued to count. One, two, three soon went past hundred but nothing happened. Gu fan had already pulled his hand back and was now leaning close to Madam Li’s face, whispering something to her while Madam Li remained standing with that smile on her face.
"You told me never to skip my breakfast, Mother," Gu Fan replied as his eyes looked past her and at Gu Bao, "I see your little treasure has finally returned."
"He has..." Madam Li nodded looking over her shoulder before looking back at Gu Fan with a serious look.
"What should I wear tonight?"
