"Glacier Series: Mist Breath."
A cold breeze swept through the battlefield. Everyone felt the temperature drop as their breaths caught and their bodies trembled faintly. Those closer to Amon instinctively took a step back, guided by their survival instincts.
The spectators, on the other hand, didn’t feel anything, but they could sense that something was happening on the battlefield below. They couldn’t see anything unusual from their seats, yet the sudden change in the atmosphere was enough to make many of them uneasy.
The cold breeze lasted for only three seconds before disappearing. It was brief, almost as if it had never happened in the first place.
Relief washed over some of the participants, while others narrowed their eyes in Amon’s direction. A few of them looked around in confusion, trying to understand what had just happened.
"Huh?"
A confused sound escaped Alice’s mouth as the man who had attacked Amon suddenly disappeared and appeared on the other side of the battlefield, where the eliminated participants were standing.
They seemed surprised as well at their number suddenly increasing by one. A few of them even exchanged confused glances, unable to understand what had happened.
They hadn’t seen any attack.
They hadn’t seen any spell.
They hadn’t even seen the man being hit.
So why was he standing there?
The spectators weren’t going to remain calm anymore. They stood up from their seats and pointed their fingers toward Amon.
Some were shouting while others looked at each other in disbelief. A few spectators even leaned over the railings, trying to get a better view of the battlefield. Nobody understood what they had just witnessed. The scene was too strange, especially since Amon hadn’t even moved from his original position.
"Am I dreaming, or did that guy really eliminate someone without even moving?"
"Who is he? How did he do that?"
"Wait... I think I saw him somewhere."
"What? Where?"
"Yes... I remember that guy. He bet 2 lakh gold coins on himself just yesterday at cream 11."
Another wave of shock spread through the crowd as people were left speechless.
The information quickly traveled through the nearby seats, and even those who hadn’t witnessed the earlier bet began discussing it among themselves. Their curiosity toward Amon only grew stronger.
"2 LAKH GOLD COINS?!"
"And he bet it on himself... He’s rich!"
The merchant who had earlier speculated that Amon had bribed his opponents stood up from his seat with a proud smile.
"Hahaha! I was right! He bribed everyone so they wouldn’t attack him!"
"Shut up, you honey-money geezer!"
On the other side, the four students from Nebulon Academy narrowed their eyes. They didn’t believe even a little bit of what the merchant was saying, as it made no sense. They had been watching everything when the cold breeze passed over the battlefield.
They had clearly seen the spell disappear before reaching Amon, yet none of them had noticed any visible attack or movement from him.
"What do you think?" one of them asked, turning toward the others.
"What do I think? Sigh... I’m sure that guy has a special ability, like those high-ranking nobles."
The woman in the red robe paused before continuing.
"He whispered something before everything changed. And he’s only at the Intermediate Rupture Realm. At that level, one has to cast a spell circle to use their affinity."
Her gaze remained fixed on Amon.
"But we didn’t see him cast anything. Not even a spell circle."
The others remained silent.
"Either he’s from a noble family, which doesn’t make sense considering why he’s here. That leaves only one possibility..."
Her eyes narrowed.
"He’s a Chosen One."
Others slowly nodded at her analysis, and their gazes turned thoughtful as one of them muttered while glancing toward the battlefield.
"We should report this back to the academy."
The others had no objection.
Back on the battlefield, the atmosphere was now filled with tension. Those who had arrived with complete confidence now wore solemn expressions as they looked at Amon.
Meanwhile, the man at the centre simply looked around with the same relaxed smile.
"Why are you guys standing?" He tilted his head."There are still 23 people in the game, you know?"
The others flinched at his words. They couldn’t decide how to respond, but in the end, none of it mattered.
Marcus, who had also been watching Amon with a challenging light in his eyes, suddenly broke the tension as he lunged toward another participant.
"He’s right... We should clear this quickly because I can’t wait to fight him myself."
His fist struck the unsuspecting participant, instantly activating their bracelet and eliminating them from the battlefield.
The others also snapped back to their senses, and soon everyone returned to what they had been doing before their attention had been captured by one blue-haired guy.
Elara shot arrows at whoever came toward her with precision, while her eyes occasionally shifted toward Amon. She still couldn’t understand what he was doing there.
She seemed to have reached the same conclusion as the students from Nebulon Academy, but she wasn’t someone who would back down.
I’m at the Peak Rupture Realm, while he’s only at the Intermediate Rupture Realm. I’ll simply have to eliminate him before he even realizes what happened.
She thought this while trusting in her own strength.
Similar thoughts were going through Marcus, the twins, Lucas, and the other top participants. They were already making strategies to avoid Amon’s abilities and thinking about how they could counter him.
It didn’t take long before only twelve participants remained, and soon they were reduced even further as two more participants were eliminated and moved out of the battlefield.
Now, only ten participants were standing, and all of them were at the Rupture Realm.
"Let’s go!"
"Start the second round already!"
"I want to see that blue-haired guy fight the others!"
The crowd roared as they couldn’t wait for the second round to begin.
Alice, who was using her wind affinity to float in the air, looked at the crowd before shaking her head.
"Unfortunately for you people, they will be given thirty minutes to recover before we start the second round." Her energetic spirit seemed to have returned as her voice rang throughout the arena.
"No, I can’t wait!" a person complained.
"You fucker... They have to be in peak condition to give us the best entertainment!" his friend said as he smacked him on the head, causing the nearby people to chuckle.
Alice smiled mysteriously in mid-air as she faced the crowd.
"Ladies and gentlemen... I can feel your pain too. You can’t possibly get bored while your amazing host is still here."
She smiled.
The crowd looked confused, but some of them immediately brightened as curiosity appeared in their eyes.
How was their host going to entertain them?
Was she going to dance?
Or was she going to show them something from the Central Continent since she wasn’t from here?
Or maybe she was going to demonstrate some cool magic spells?
Alice, who could practically feel their curiosity, smiled as she pointed toward the top of the arena.
A large screen suddenly lit up as the runes across its surface flared to life.
The crowd’s attention naturally shifted toward it as they glanced upward in confusion.
