A Writer's Transmigration With A System

Chapter 36: The Abyss Of Meaninglessness

Life was indeed the crucible, and humans were the metal.

Li Jiwen understood that the hard way.

He thought so to himself in the darkness, after looking for God knows how many years as he felt.

He moved and moved, and he could actually tell what had happened.

He could feel his legs getting tired as clear as ever, even more.

He knew that hardships would bring the things that would make a person more powerful.

He understood that his own facade and the outer look of his own that was jolly and laughing and outgoing was merely a facade from his years as a student in university.

He understood that that facade had already been there, just because of one reason: he was afraid that he would be left out again.

Humans were animals that were social, and Li Jiwen understood that. Through his own human existence, getting into a society and a gathering was better than being alone in the actual modern world.

If you are alone, you have no connections. If you have no connections, you have no work. If you have no work, you have no money. If you have no money, then he would go back to the hell that he was in before he was flung out of it by a kind person that was one in a hundred billion, if he could even say that.

Li Jiwen would have thought of the face of that person, but he could not remember it.

All things were hazy. He felt that he had been here for millions of years.

Everything about his life on Earth was hazy, but the hardship remained.

And those hard days that he had lived on the streets, he did not hesitate and continued to move.

He understood one thing in this new world of cultivation: the only thing that he can count on was himself and nothing other than that.

If he wanted to actually be up and be able to live as long as he wanted, then Li Jiwen would have to do one thing and one thing only: count on himself and himself alone.

This world did not need money. This world did not need connections.

Through the system that he had, he could do whatever he wanted as long as he was smart enough with it.

His mind had already been tested by the stark and unending place.

Li Jiwen could feel that his mind had been here for millions of years.

Even someone with his own mental capacity was almost breaking under the pressure.

He had already thought of every single moment in his life for hundreds of times.

He thought about how he could change things if he went back, how he would change everything or would not change anything.

Everything that he had thought about was something that made him even more angry at his own previous life.

But he did not do anything about it. He knew that the life that he thought of was already gone.

Now he was in the world of cultivation inside the Changdu space.

If it would be used correctly, then he would be so powerful and so unstoppable in the future, and he knew that.

He moved and moved through the darkness.

He could feel that he was the only light, the only thing that was here.

Even the Changdu space’s entire existence and the actual mind that was forming was but merely something that was still not happening. The mind’s rise had already happened, or so he felt.

He still felt that this was not the time for the Changdu space to be ready.

He knew that it would take even longer.

He thought about life and death. He thought about powers of cultivation. He thought about himself.

He had never actually surrendered to weakness or actual fate itself.

He said, "Fate has ways, mysterious ways, and these mysterious ways could be on the side of the weak or the other side."

He did not care about them if they were not in his sight.

He did not hesitate for a couple of seconds, and he moved.

He moved his mind through the darkness as the only light, the only source of hope, the only source of existence that there is. He never hesitated and never stopped.

This was Li Jiwen. This was what he wanted to be, and this was what he was at the moment.

Millennia had sharpened his mind. He was alone here. There was none other than himself in the world.

No fighting, no plundering, no laughing at others. Not even a singular joke was thrown out in this darkness.

He was thinking, pondering, and philosophizing himself.

As his own mind grew longer and larger and bigger, and the actual words began to argue with each other and himself, he began to hear that he was indeed reaching something and he could not tell exactly what it was.

This thing, as he would come to know later, was his own self, and most importantly, something that would have been greater, much greater in the future.

Finally, he thought to himself, ’This Changdu space is not going anywhere, and there is no longer any sense of the world. I could kill that, even with someone who had not been in the world of cultivation for long at the moment. But here in this darkness, I can do whatever I want.’

’I have studied every thing that I had already gotten and even created some in my free time. This is hard. The darkness truly is something that not a human can understand. Either a god or a monster when it goes too long into the darkness in the abyss of meaninglessness.’

’You shall see the entire abyss staring back at you, either with even more emptiness and non existence, or with truly meaning and everything that would make a person’s hope continue in this life.’

He closed his eyes for a couple of seconds, as he had an epiphany.

Suddenly he opened them again. Light flung out through the place entirely.

He had reached some kind of enlightenment about this world, and the Changdu space, and more importantly, about himself.

The light expanded and expanded and expanded and continued to expand without stop, as if he was a godly existence that had descended upon the mortal realm.

Then everything went black and dark again, but this time there was something.
