Li Jiwen thrashed as he broke space in a random place and got out.

It looked as if his body was almost destroyed completely.

He fell to the ground in a motion that destroyed the area and made a small crater where he appeared.

His body was bloody. His bones were crushed. His internal organs were bleeding. His face was full of blood.

He coughed blood as he said weakly, "What was that? Where did they come from? Why are they following me? And why do they call me an anomaly? What is happening?"

Cough, cough, cough.

He could not even continue speaking.

"And what exactly was that which came at me and tried to suppress me? What is happening?"

He did not know what he should do now.

If they could find him once, they would be able to find him again and again and again.

This was not something he wanted to face. Especially that he was not totally using his power as a Nascent Soul cultivator.

He finally looked at the phone in front of him that appeared with his will.

He said, "It’s time to choose the last and third thing."

He decided he would choose something very important, but also something that he had substitutions for.

That thing was the Heavenly Concealment Ring.

It concealed him from the Dao and anyone who wanted to follow him.

It was able to change his looks, change his mannerisms, and even change his own aura signature and all.

He did not hesitate for even a second.

Li Jiwen got it out and put it on his finger.

Then slowly he began to change shape and looks.

His aura began to change, and everything around him began to change entirely.

Even if an existence that could communicate with the Dao tried to search for him, they would not find him.

These were the powers of such a powerful piece of equipment that he had made in one of his novels.

Finally, Li Jiwen decided that this was the time.

He moved again with the Void Steps for hundreds of thousands of li, understanding that he needed to disappear from this place before anyone could catch him.

At the very same time, he was circulating qi so he could heal himself quickly.

As he did so, his mind began to question what exactly was happening and who exactly these people were that had almost killed him.

For the first time in this world, he finally felt fear that he would actually die and not resurrect.

Was this truly a real world? Or was he dreaming?

He could not tell, and he did not want to know.

Li Jiwen continued to escape through space with Void Steps until finally he reached the very edge of the province in a city that was quite small and not totally known.

He decided that he would heal in this place, then he would see what he could actually do to stop the calamity before it came his way.

He looked around. The entirety of the place was small and not too crowded with people.

So he moved and bought a courtyard for himself.

He paid for it in full, then finally entered and began to regain his powers quickly.

Although the sealing formation had almost killed him, the damage was superficial and nothing vital as it wanted to neutralize him and not kill him.

In a couple of days, he had completely regained his powers.

Finally, he emerged with his new look: long black hair, a long beard, golden eyes, and a flowing robe.

He looked at the sky and said, "Is this world truly real, or am I just in a novel? Can I change what exactly is happening to me?"

For the first time, he began to take things seriously.

He knew that if he truly wanted to stop the calamity, he would not be able to do it in this life.

He said to himself, "Looks like I will need to plan for the next life from now on and try to learn about this world as much as possible before the calamity hits."

The realization that he would not be able to actually live and bypass the mission in this life fell down on him.

He knew that the people chasing him would eventually hurt him.

They were not even people at the top of the world.

The realization hit him like a truck.

He knew that with this realization, he would need to accompany himself and understand that he would take so much time before he could continue living and finish the mission quickly and correctly.

He looked at the sun in the sky, the heavens above, completely empty of clouds.

This was real. These people were real. The entirety of the world was real.

He was not going to survive this as much as he wanted, and this knowledge made him shudder in place.

Finally, he got a couple of techniques that he found in the bodies of the demonic cultivators and their pouches and began to read them in the courtyard as he sat on the ground.

Time passed, and he finished reading all five techniques.

He set them beside him.

His face was ugly. He did not know what to do now.

He had escaped hundreds of thousands of li far away from the place where they tried to catch him.

He had changed his appearance, his aura, and even his signature within the Dao.

This was all he could do now.

If they truly tried to find him and found him, then he would be dead.

But who knows?
