Leo's eyes immediately sharpened at the notification. He allowed himself to be distracted because, thankfully, this time Lily's mana didn't go out of control like the previous times. She managed to hold things in.

But Leo didn't know she could do that because of him. Their soul bond had strengthened to great degrees, and the system was able to control the overflow of the mana through extended reach. And this came to be known because—

Ding!

>Soul connection with soul mate reached critical point. Both parties are now able to use each other's skills without the restraint of common element.

When Leo looked at the notification, he couldn't stop a smile from forming on his face. Because now, one thing was confirmed.

If skills could be shared, then the next stage would obviously be talent sharing.

But there was also another thing Leo noted. Though desirable, the Soulmate bond between them was progressing at a terrifying pace.

Is it her Yandere character in play? Leo wondered.

And even if it was true for Lily, what about Leo?

Because for sure, a Soulmate bond couldn't grow from one-sided love.

Though Leo had never actually tried looking into himself, he knew for sure that he loved Lily to a great degree.

He looked at her. Her face wore a jovial smile as they watched the Spirit Amphithere circle her. He observed her face, the tiny drop of sweat trickling down her chin, and the damp hair clinging to her skin, making her look a bit messy.

And even through all that, Leo couldn't find a single flaw in her. She was perfect in almost all conditions and situations.

What if another man touches her? Leo thought of the scenario. And he couldn't even complete the scene before the said man was lying somewhere senseless, with every bone broken and every muscle torn.

He recalled the time when that one demon had almost touched her inappropriately. Though he never actually got the chance to deal with him personally, his anger was taken out on that other leader demon, who was tortured while being disembowelled.

And even in other instances, it was Lily who handled things. But if that chance ever came into Leo's hands solely?

Leo's fingers twitched with itchiness just from the thought of it.

Am I a Yandere too? What the fuck...

He shook his head to brush the thoughts away and looked at the Spirit Amphithere.

"She looks fine... I think there shouldn't be a problem if I fuse the Infernal Serpent's core right now."

Saying that, he drifted towards Lily.

Tarun and the others had also come to their location by now.

"Congratulations on contracting it. I see you were able to control the power surge in your body perfectly," Brant said, and Lily thanked him.

Kaelion was only quiet on the sidelines. He had barely been able to sense previously that Lily was way stronger than he was, but now, he couldn't do it at all. Now, she looked like any normal person to him, just like Leo did previously. And of course, that wasn't the case, meaning she had become overwhelmingly stronger than him.

But suddenly, a thought came to him, and his lips curved into a smile.

I wonder what sort of face that stupid, proud sister of mine will make when she goes against her...

Kaelion had already lost all hope of catching up to these monsters. Now, he placed his hopes on seeing how badly the spirits of his siblings would be crushed after going against them. Because even if they were better than Kaelion, they could still not match Leo and Lily's levels.

"Oh? You'll use your talent right now?" Tarun asked with interest.

"Yes, I will assimilate the Infernal Serpent's core with the Amphithere right now."

Tarun and Brant looked at each other and nodded.

"Alright, but first, let me run a quick test on her."

Tarun floated in front of Lily and placed his index finger on her forehead to quickly assess her physical condition.

At that, he frowned.

Leo immediately grew concerned upon seeing Tarun's expression.

"What happened, Vice Principal?" Leo asked.

Tarun seemed to run another couple of tests, but the results were the same.

He stroked his beard in contemplation and asked both Leo and Lily,

"Do both of you have some sort of special physiques that let you digest a sudden surge of strength? Because I have heard from Katherine that even before Lily's mana went out of control, her body was fine. And now, even her mana is controlled. As for you, I have never heard either case... Every power-up that you have had after coming into the academy was smooth, with no complications."

Though he said that externally, he thought internally.

Don't tell me both of them have been chosen by those beings...

But if that were the case, then the level of being that chose Lily must be lower than that of Leo because he didn't feel any restriction on his senses when trying to check Lily's strength, unlike Leo's, whose true strength seemed to be blocked from his senses.

As for Tarun's question, though Leo knew the reason, he didn't let the thought cross his mind and responded spontaneously.

"We are not aware of such things. We thought it was normal since we could do it automatically from the beginning."

Tarun, Brant, and Kaelion all shook their heads simultaneously, as Leo's statement was false to the core.

"That's not at all normal. There have been cases of extreme levels of internal and spiritual injury from people having feedback talents like yours. More so in individuals whose talents provide more than 20% feedback. Though they are extremely rare, we know of some cases where people died because all their bones were crushed when their muscles strengthened slightly before their bones," Tarun explained.

"Not to mention, even in other safe cases, the individual's body, muscles, veins, mana circuits, and soul are exerted so much that a few days of rest become paramount. But we never noticed anything like that in you. You both simply wave them off and continue your work with your strengthened bodies as if nothing had changed."

Both Leo and Lily looked at each other.

"We really don't know anything," both responded.

This brat knows something. Both Tarun and Brant communicated telepathically.

Even if Lily really was clueless, Leo was still very thick-skinned to say anything meaningful.

Alright, leave him be. I cannot afford to ask any more than this unless I want a target on my back and be hunted by some apostle. Tarun communicated with Brant.

Brant's eyes widened at Tarun's words, but he quickly hid his expression.
