Leo heard the ping in his mind, ’Ping: Host, your daughter wants you to lead the world into a better collective mindset so please take a seat in the council and direct the purpose in a better way. The reward would be dispensed based on the final evaluation.’

The young man sighed and replied, "Fine, I will handle it then."

He raised his right arm and used the communicator to type a message on it and sent it to the two people. One person was the Duke, who had nominated him for the councilman position. The other to the members of the council who had requested him to give the inauguration speech. The young man was in agreement but he was not enthusiastic. For him such tasks meant he would be away from his family. However, with all the ambassadors, it would be easy for them to govern the council and delegate the work in various parts of the world.

Another thing that he had to do was to come up with a speech, he had no idea how long he would need to speak up on the podium but he had to do it regardless of anything, so he might as well do it properly. He picked up Jules in his arms and led him to the study room while chatting with him. They had a small desk in the study room, and since Julian was acting a little clingy with him, he took the little guy along with him.

Lily followed Snow and Elle in the study, the three girls have decided they wanted to play the video game and Snow wanted to feel if she could really drive an extreme sports car around the track and perform like a professional. The trio enjoyed the game while Leo worked, Elle didn’t get to play but she liked to cheer for the people.

Leo crammed the speech with a pen in his hand and Julian was looking at his father drawing lines on the paper, and he reached out for the pen many times, and Leo said, "Jules, wait a bit, let baba finish his work and then I will teach you writing."

Jules, smiled and said, "Good."

Leo spent one hour writing the speech, and then he took Jules hand and then guided him to write his own name first, then a few more things. It was not a systematic writing class just whatever Julian said yes to. Elle saw this and realized that she was missing out on the fun. She called for Leo, and Snow, who was holding her as Lily played the game sighed, "Leo, your little darling wants to write."

Leo chuckled and said, "Give her to me, Jules is tired, he needs to rest his wrist and fingers."

He asked Jules to walk towards his mother, and the little boy wobbled over slowly. Snow caught him and praised him while Leo did the same to Elle. They have started to take wobbly steps, and although Leo and Snow loved to carry them, they gave them enough exercise and encouragement to try it on their own. Sometimes when they fumble and fall, Leo lightens the mood for them by cheering them on. The children don’t fear falling.

...

Leo finished teaching Elle how to write her name the same way as he did with Jules, and realized that unlike his eldest, his youngest and the middle child were all right handed. Yes, Lily was left handed, similar to Snow. Three days later, the inauguration event was held in the Clover Nation. It was only logical, and all the representatives from all the registered nations have been invited.

When the council was being made, it was made clear that the entire world needs to come together and for that it didn’t matter of the people have a stronger nation or a bigger nation, every nation represented the vested interest of the people residing there so they all must be given the same chance to speak, because it was never about the numbers. If something is wrong for the people in Stag nation then it is fundamentally wrong for the rest of the world as well. Another purpose of this council was to regulate the resource and development assets in the world.

The nations that were too weak, would have their people trained in fabrication, and then they would be responsible for building the structure under the supervision of skilled engineers and so on, this will provide employment and they would be able to afford higher and better living standards and education for the future generation. The countries were thankful and they all wished to gain help in dealing with the various problems they were facing.

The ceremony was held in the big auditorium of the building that has been selected as the temporary office for the council in Clover Nation. The inauguration was held and the first one to speak was the host.

"Today we are here, to celebrate the inauguration of the International Space Council. An organization that would lead us to a better future, and represent the united interest of the entire world. The council is headed by the brightest and the wisest of the people selected by the votes of the Governing bodies of all the nations in the world."

Then began a lengthy process of introducing several hundred people to the world and this alone consumed three hours, the host had to resort to call a robot to read the list of personnel to the people without stopping and making a mistake. Then he continued, "The first person to chair this council is someone who changed the perception of how the human race saw outer space. His company made commercial space tour a dream come true. He spearheaded the space elevator program, the international space station, the space port, space mining, the glorious lunar base, and now he has discovered the proof of alien lifeform.

Please welcome, the Chairman of the ISC, Lord Leo Cardinal."

The entire auditorium erupted with a loud applause, before the inauguration the dignitaries from all over the world had gathered in the same hall, and Leo had been the only one who talked with everyone as if he was greeting a partner. He didn’t act haughty and even took time out for asking about the basic problems everyone’s nation basically faced. The councilmen from stag nation asked him, "Lord Cardinal, why are you asking about such things? Would our council also take part in solving problems for the people?"

Leo had replied, "Councilmen Hedge, I will answer this in detail during the speech, but in a nutshell yes. I know that some would be thinking that I am walking astray from the path we have decided upon but please give me the time to get on the podium and address you all together. The goal would be cleared."

Now that he stood at the podium everyone was curious and wanted to know what his real goal was.

Leo took a deep breath as he adjusted the mic and then he said, "Ladies and Gentlemen, thank you for gracing us with your presence today. Thank you for the councilmen for their trust and support in allowing me to be the first chairman of this organization. earlier before coming here, I was asked, ’What is the motive and main goal of this organization?’

Allow me to tell you the motive and goal of this organization. The resources on our planet are limited and we all know that, it is a scientifically proven fact. Humans need these resources to grow stronger and develop better. However, the extraction of these resources also comes at a great cost, the depletion of our planet. One of the most prominent environmentalists have stated that if the human race continued to extract these resources at the pace like we are doing today, then by the end of the century, we are looking to suffer from problems that might destroy the prosperity of the entire human race.

So, the obvious need of finding an alternative is iminent. The only suitable place for this exploration and alternative is the space, the organization intends to unite the entire world and move towards the common goal of space exploration and finding alternative sources for the survival of the race, however, this does not mean we would be sending mining pods to all and any objects that are drifting in space around us.

The motive is exploration but the goal is to improve the human race, and the major flaw in our mindset is that consumption is free. The world has supported our lives for a long time and if the human race doesn’t learn when to stop and when to let go, we might not only destroy our home, but even the universe as well."

He took a pause and the people gasped, before he continued, "Before coming here, my daughter had asked me if humans can ever learn to stop, and think about what their future generations might have to face if this blind chase for power, capital and fame continued. To be honest, I had no answer to her question and that is when I realized that if we delayed it any longer thinking that the future generation will solve it all on their own, things will never change. After all, our children grow up not learning from us but imitating from us, and I for one don’t wish to pass down this habit of delaying to them.

So, here at ISC we all have the same goal, to build a better world, to make sure that everyone can come forward and gain something from this charge at the outer space. We are not perfect, but we are willing to try, and I am sure, that as long as our goal is united, we would succeed towards building a better future for ourselves and the youngsters behind us."
