The thief remained hidden.
He was most likely an Awakener who specialized as a thief.
There were quite a few people like that. They made a living by stealing the hard-earned spoils of other Awakeners.
Operating only at night and staying concealed at all times, they were notoriously difficult to find.
However, even in the darkness, Enzo knew exactly where the mana threads had come from.
A savage look appeared in his eyes, and Violet naturally mirrored his expression.
Whoosh!
Violet shot toward the source of the threads.
As long as she kept moving in that direction, she would eventually find the thief.
Once she got close enough, she would be able to sense him.
Her current speed was simply too high.
A distance of one hundred meters took barely more than an instant.
Two hundred meters...
Three hundred meters...
Her target was a massive tree covered in dense foliage.
She could clearly sense the thief hiding there.
Shua!
Before she could reach it, a black figure leaped out of the tree.
Realizing he had been discovered, the thief immediately chose to flee.
"Do you have a death wish?"
Violet shouted.
Thieves rarely dared to fight head-on.
Most of them were relatively weak and had little chance of becoming powerful unless they were fortunate enough to steal something capable of strengthening them.
When it came to speed, Violet had an overwhelming advantage.
Panic immediately appeared on the thief’s face.
Whoosh!
Violet slashed her dagger forward as she spotted a web of mana threads blocking her path.
The threads weren’t easy to cut, but fortunately, her A+ Class Weapon was sharp enough to slice through them.
Then she responded in kind.
She wove her own mana threads into a massive net and cast it over the thief, who was completely hidden beneath a black cloak.
BANG!
The thief crashed to the ground as the net fell over him, instantly binding his entire body.
Even the hood of his cloak was pulled back, revealing his face.
"You...?"
Violet froze in disbelief.
Or rather, it was Enzo’s reaction.
Their mouths hung open.
How could they not react like that?
The man was middle-aged, with black hair and a handsome face.
He carried an air of authority and dignity, as though he were someone of high status.
Of course, appearances meant nothing in the Awakener World.
Some people remained weak Awakeners yet achieved great success elsewhere, naturally giving them a commanding presence.
Enzo was stunned because this man was none other than his own uncle—
Alex Muller, Bella’s father.
He hadn’t even known his uncle was an Awakener.
"Miss, I was wrong! Please forgive me. I’ll accept any condition you want, just let me go!"
Alex Muller pleaded.
He was so terrified that he didn’t even notice Violet’s shocked expression.
Knowing how ruthless this young woman was, fear completely overwhelmed him.
What if she was the kind of person who wouldn’t hesitate to kill another human?
If that were the case, she might simply kill him right here.
It took Enzo quite a while to calm himself.
He didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.
Bella would probably burst into tears if she ever found out.
Her father had become a thief.
Based on Enzo’s guess, Alex had probably only recently gotten lucky enough to obtain the Mana Threads skill.
Relying on it, he had decided to return to adventuring in the Moba World.
Perhaps today was even his first day.
Enzo wondered what he should do.
He didn’t particularly like this uncle of his, but he couldn’t bring himself to beat him up either.
After all, they were close relatives.
More importantly, Alex was still Bella’s father.
Whoosh!
Violet moved like lightning.
She grabbed the ring on Alex’s finger and forcibly pulled it off.
"You—!"
Alex couldn’t help showing an angry expression.
But Violet ignored him.
The bond between an Awakener and their Storage Artifact could be severed with ease using a small flow of mana.
Alex’s eyes widened as he felt his connection to the Storage Artifact break.
Violet immediately established a new bond with it herself.
At the very least, this man deserved to be robbed as well.
Enzo hoped the experience would traumatize him enough to abandon his career as a thief.
He also didn’t want the incident to become public.
It would only disgrace the Muller family.
A look of surprise soon appeared on his face as he examined the contents of his uncle’s Storage Artifact.
There was a silver spear wrapped in swirling wind, with eagle-shaped engravings running along its grooves.
It was actually an A+ Class Weapon.
Besides that, there were three bottles filled with green liquid labeled Level 3.
C-Regen.
A healing potion capable of rapidly recovering injuries.
Level 3 versions were naturally very expensive because they remained highly effective for any Awakener below Level 30.
Violet couldn’t help smiling.
"So... you’ve got some nice things."
After saying that, she simply turned around and walked away, without even releasing Alex from the mana threads binding him.
The bindings were already loose enough that he should be able to free himself eventually.
Besides, from what Enzo could see, there weren’t any dangerous monsters nearby—only a few Goblins that rarely wandered far from their territory.
Enzo kept smiling, and Violet continued smiling as well.
Knock! Knock!
A loud knock suddenly echoed from the door.
Turning his head, Enzo saw Emma standing outside, holding a tray of food.
It was already quite late, so he had assumed she wouldn’t come tonight.
Yet she still did.
However, her mood seemed even gloomier than usual.
With a sigh, Enzo got to his feet and opened the door.
The moment it opened, Emma shoved the tray against his stomach.
"Hurry up and take it!"
she said impatiently.
"Do you realize your expression always looks like everyone in the world owes you money?"
Enzo chuckled.
He was in such a good mood that he couldn’t resist teasing her.
"You...?"
Emma’s eyes widened behind her oversized glasses.
"What are you waiting for? Aren’t you going to take it? If not, I’ll just bring it back so I don’t have to come here again," she said after noticing that Enzo still hadn’t taken the tray.
