Enzo was curious about the river.
There was no marker for a tomb on the map. Yet Eliza had said there was one there.
Violet continued to maintain Invisible Mode. Enzo was a little worried that there might be someone else around besides those two.
However, the farther Violet went, the more obvious it became that there was truly no one else around.
Even if this was private land, without any guards, who could stop other people from entering?
Of course, it was possible that the Association had already issued a warning about this place, relaying it to students through their schools after they awakened.
Enzo, who was considered a failure, had no idea about such things. Neither did Violet, since she had never participated in any official program.
It didn’t take long before Violet reached the end of the forest road.
The river finally came into view. It was incredibly wide, with a powerful current.
The water was murky yellow-brown, making it impossible to see what lay beneath the surface. But there was indeed a bridge there—a wooden bridge that was completely intact.
It looked newly built. Perhaps someone had rebuilt it recently.
It was wide enough for even large trucks to cross, and its height was no different from the bridges found on Earth.
Directly beneath the bridge was an enormous whirlpool.
Violet had to step closer to the river before Enzo could clearly observe it through her eyes.
He couldn’t help but be amazed.
Somehow, the whirlpool existed naturally—or at least appeared to.
What was clear was that beneath it lay a massive hole, with an underwater tunnel leading upstream.
Inside the hole itself lay an orange humanoid cat about the size of a human, apparently sleeping soundly with its mouth hanging wide open.

The notification was enough to make Enzo serious.
Violet stepped onto the bridge while remaining in Invisible Mode, moving extremely carefully.
It would be great if she could kill that monster instantly.
She stopped directly above the whirlpool.
With just one leap, she would land right on top of the cat.
Getting back up would obviously be impossible with a simple jump given her current stats.
Fortunately, she had her Mana Threads, so that wasn’t a problem.
Violet jumped off the bridge.
Her dagger was ready to pierce the cat’s heart.
Even while falling from such a height, Violet’s body made no disturbance in the air.
The cat still appeared to be sleeping soundly.
But it was clearly not a monster that could be underestimated.
When Violet was only one meter away, its eyes suddenly snapped open.
Fortunately, that distance was already close enough for Violet to act.

Her hand moved like lightning as she plunged the dagger straight into the cat’s heart.

Enzo hadn’t expected the cat to give him so much EXP.
The amount of SP it provided was also enormous.
This time, both he and Violet gained a total of 80 Attribute Points from the level-up.
It had been the same before, but previously they had leveled up twice—from Level 11 to 13, then from 13 to 15.
This time, they had only gained one level.
Yet the sensation of becoming stronger was noticeably greater.

At the same moment the notification appeared, the lizard opened its enormous mouth.
Buzz!
A stream of golden flames erupted from its mouth, burning with terrifying heat.
While still inside the whirlpool, Enzo instinctively thought of having Violet control the swirling water.
But a moment later, he was surprised.
She couldn’t control it.
It seemed that some stronger force was controlling the whirlpool.
Fortunately, even when she had jumped down, Violet had already attached a Mana Thread to the bridge.
Whoosh!
Her body was pulled upward at incredible speed as she reeled the thread back in.
Buzz!
The entire whirlpool was instantly filled with golden flames.
Strangely, the flames and the whirlpool didn’t touch each other, as if an invisible barrier was separating them.
Enzo didn’t bother wondering why.
His brows furrowed as he watched the golden flames continue pouring out even after a full minute.
Two minutes.
Three minutes.
Five minutes.
Ten minutes.
They still didn’t stop.
The golden flames continued to roar, radiating terrifying heat.
If they were coming from a flamethrower, it was as though the thing had an endless supply of fuel.
Enzo could only be stunned by the amount of Mana the lizard possessed.
He remained patient, continuing to wait.
But this was taking much longer than he had expected.
Half an hour later, the golden flames were still blazing without stopping.
