Enzo drove there as Charlotte instructed.

Although the gate was open, the inside was dark—not completely dark, though. Some kind of technology blocked the view from outside.

As soon as they passed through the gate, Enzo was startled when his phone began vibrating continuously.

That was the sign that it had shut down.

The phone in Charlotte’s hand also turned off by itself, as if it had run out of battery—or perhaps that was simply how it worked here.

"Phones and all electronic devices are prohibited here," the woman explained.

Enzo didn’t find it strange. This was a meeting place for businessmen and government officials, after all. Whatever happened here was highly sensitive.

After passing through the gate, the car entered a tunnel illuminated only by the vehicle’s headlights.

It wasn’t particularly long. Soon, the car passed through it and emerged into a spacious, brightly lit underground area.

It hardly looked like an underground facility at all because of how luxurious it was. It looked more like a shopping mall.

A restaurant stood there, with numerous tables surrounded by sofas arranged throughout the open area.

Men in immaculate suits sat there, but what made the scene interesting were the beautiful women accompanying them. Some shamelessly sat on their laps, while others hugged them from the side.

With service like this, practically everyone looked happy.

Enzo parked the car in a parking area filled with the latest luxury cars.

He looked at Charlotte, waiting for her to get out first.

"The Governor is already waiting. Come on." She pushed open the door beside her.

Charlotte’s car had attracted attention the moment it arrived because it was clearly a level above the others.

Enzo stepped out after her, immediately attracting even more attention.

People looked surprised when they realized that the two people getting out were a man and a woman who were still far too young compared to everyone else there.

Their identities immediately became a topic of curiosity.

Of course, Charlotte’s identity wasn’t easy to figure out.

She wasn’t originally from Z City. Her awakening had only happened recently, and she had only just begun becoming known among the Awakeners.

The two simply walked toward the restaurant entrance.

They were greeted by an elegant middle-aged woman wearing a suit, her hair neatly tied into a bun.

The word Manager displayed on her chest indicated her position.

"Miss O’Conner, welcome to North Fancy," she said gently.

She also looked at Enzo and gave him a friendly smile.

Although she didn’t know who he was, she still treated him respectfully, assuming that Enzo’s background was extraordinary as well—and that he might even be Charlotte’s boyfriend.

If they weren’t involved somehow, why would Charlotte bring him here?

"Let’s get straight to it. Where’s the Governor?" Charlotte asked.

She clearly had no interest in small talk.

"The Governor has been waiting for you. Please follow me." The manager led them toward a private room.

Although the restaurant had an open dining area, the interior itself was enormous, with numerous doors leading to private rooms.

The manager brought them to one of them—the largest door of all, indicating that it was the restaurant’s most exclusive private room.

It naturally told everyone else that Charlotte’s status was far above theirs.

The manager personally opened the door, revealing an extraordinarily luxurious dining room.

The dining table was round, surrounded by five enormous sofas designed to resemble thrones.

Enzo saw an elderly man with slightly curly white hair, giving him a friendly and kind-hearted appearance.

Justin Turner.

He was the Governor.

He was accompanied by a middle-aged man standing behind him, his personal assistant.

"Miss O’Conner, welcome. I’ve heard that you’re extremely beautiful, but your beauty surpasses even my imagination." The Governor immediately stood to greet Charlotte, showering her with praise.

Charlotte reacted calmly, clearly accustomed to being praised for her beauty. She entered the private room, followed closely by Enzo.

The Governor’s eyes shifted toward Enzo curiously.

The young man looked familiar, but he couldn’t remember where he had seen him before.

"Miss, please, have a seat..." He invited Charlotte to sit and personally pulled out a chair for her.

Then he pulled out another chair for Enzo, assuming that this young man was also someone important.

Enzo sat down after Charlotte.

The dining table was already filled with seafood—lobsters, crabs, and bluefin tuna.

The aroma was incredible.

"Miss, please, you and your boyfriend should eat first," the Governor said after sitting down.

If a woman came with a man to a private meeting like this, and the man didn’t look like an assistant, the Governor naturally assumed that he was her boyfriend.

Enzo, who had initially planned to maintain a calm expression, was rather stunned.

He glanced at Charlotte to see how she would react.

But she didn’t respond at all. She merely nodded lightly and picked up her fork.

Apparently, she really did intend to have dinner.

Whether she was simply too lazy to explain or didn’t think it was worth correcting, her silence effectively caused the Governor to believe that Enzo was indeed Charlotte’s boyfriend.

Since she was eating, Enzo ate as well.

He was hungry, after all.

Luxury food like this only made his appetite stronger. Even the Governor began eating first. Only his assistant remained standing, occasionally smiling whenever Enzo looked at him.

"Mr. Turner, as far as I know, that building was purchased by Charles Muller." Charlotte began speaking only after eating a little.

Naturally, she didn’t eat much.

"That’s correct. Charles Muller purchased it with the intention of building a Monster Prison." The Governor didn’t deny it. He understood that someone like Charlotte O’Conner had access to all kinds of information throughout the country.

"Unfortunately, Charles Muller has passed away. He was such a great hero. The loss of such a formidable man is truly unfortunate." He sighed as he spoke about Charles’s death.

Enzo didn’t think the old man was pretending.

Then why hadn’t he given his father’s building to him?

If he thought Enzo was still too young, didn’t he have an uncle?

"It belongs to Charles Muller, and he has a son," Charlotte continued.

"To prevent any legal complications in the future that could tarnish my reputation, I want you to transfer ownership of that building to Charles Muller’s son, its rightful heir. After that, I can purchase the building from him."

For a moment, the Governor’s eyebrows rose at Charlotte’s request. Even so, he remained calm.

"Miss, if you purchase it from Charles Muller’s son, things will become complicated. We don’t know whether he’ll be willing to sell the building. Even if he is, he might demand an unreasonable price. His uncle is a shrewd businessman. He won’t miss the opportunity to squeeze you for every penny. Therefore, I’ve prepared a better plan—"

Before the Governor could explain his plan, Charlotte raised her hand, stopping him.

The assistant’s eyebrows furrowed at her attitude.

He had never seen anyone dare to interrupt the Governor while he was speaking.

But knowing this woman’s identity, he understood that the Governor wouldn’t be angry in the slightest.

The O’Conner Family wasn’t merely wealthy. It was led by one of the strongest Awakeners in existence.

"I don’t need another plan. And you don’t need to worry about my negotiations. Besides, it will be easy for me to discuss it because the heir is already here." Charlotte said this while looking at Enzo.

The Governor and his assistant froze.

What had they just heard?

Their gazes immediately fell on Enzo.

The Governor finally realized why the young man had seemed so familiar.

His face looked incredibly similar to Charles’s.

His chest rose slightly before he quickly restrained himself.

His breathing was even disrupted.

He became awkward.

"Miss, i-is he really Charles’s son?" the Governor asked, needing confirmation.

He had, of course, heard that the young man had failed to awaken.

They lived in the same city, and he had naturally asked for some basic information about Enzo, though he had never bothered to obtain a photograph.

Once he heard that Enzo had failed to awaken, he considered him no longer worth paying attention to.

How could he have possibly come here with Charlotte?

And was he really her boyfriend?

If so, this was simply unbelievable.

"Governor, you don’t intend to sell my assets without my knowledge, do you?" Enzo asked with a faint smile.

Of course, he couldn’t remain silent forever.

The Governor was forced to look at him again.

If Enzo had come alone, he could have reprimanded him.

Unfortunately, Charlotte was standing beside him.

How could he not understand that this was a plan orchestrated by Charlotte?

Would he dare oppose it?

Absolutely not.

He forced a smile at Enzo.

"Of course not. It’s yours. We simply haven’t had the opportunity to transfer it to you yet."

"More than a year, and you never had the time? And why does it seem that it’s been turned into a warehouse?" Enzo replied, making the Governor extremely awkward.

This boy was actually trying to pressure him.

Before Enzo could say anything more, Charlotte patted his thigh.

She was signaling him not to pursue the matter any further.

Then she stood up.

"Mr. Turner, arrange everything. Make the building mine and proceed with converting it into a Monster Prison. I’ll negotiate the building’s purchase with Enzo myself."

After saying that, she signaled Enzo to leave.

Enzo followed.

He gave the Governor a mocking look.

In his mind, he thought:

’Just wait until Violet becomes stronger. I’ll tear this place apart.’
