"Gambling." Enzo smiled wryly.

As he said that, the woman had already returned to playing poker.

Enzo pretended to nod without saying anything.

Their order finally arrived. It consisted of two cups of coffee and a plate of fried chicken cut into small pieces.

There was, of course, no lobster or crab here.

Using a fork, he popped the pieces of chicken into his mouth.

His eyes unconsciously drifted toward Charlotte’s phone screen.

The woman played by intimidating her opponents with the sheer amount of money she had.

She kept raising the stakes, but her opponents weren’t intimidated.

When all the cards were revealed, she lost.

Even so, her expression remained completely indifferent. She simply started another round.

Perhaps money was too insignificant to her for her to gamble so calmly.

Enzo wondered how she would react if he took her phone away right now.

Would she get angry or throw a tantrum?

Of course, Enzo wasn’t afraid of her.

His hand moved quickly, snatching the phone right out of her hand.

Charlotte couldn’t have looked more surprised. She stared at him in disbelief.

"You?" she blurted out.

She immediately reached for her phone.

But Enzo’s hand was faster. He moved it out of her reach.

"Give it back!" the woman demanded.

Enzo could clearly sense the anger radiating from her, but aside from her sharpened gaze, she remained surprisingly calm.

"I won’t give it back unless you promise to stop gambling."

Unexpectedly, Charlotte became genuinely aggressive after hearing that. She even climbed onto him in an attempt to reach her phone.

Enzo could no longer keep her away.

When she forcefully tugged at the phone, he had no choice but to let go. If neither of them gave in, the phone might actually snap in two.

Their struggle over a phone naturally attracted plenty of strange looks from the people around them.

Enzo didn’t care. He was still surprised by Charlotte’s reaction.

After getting her phone back, she stared at him.

To his surprise, a smirk appeared on her face.

"I’ll never stop gambling with my money, not even until the day I die. So don’t bother lecturing me. I’ve heard enough lectures already," she said with absolute conviction.

Looking at her expression, Enzo realized she wasn’t angry anymore after getting her phone back.

It seemed she had simply panicked when he took it away, like a mother cat desperately trying to reclaim her kitten.

After that, she continued playing.

This time, she apparently got a good hand. Even when she had bad cards, she would keep doubling the stakes, so there was no need to mention what she did when she had good cards.

Because her opponents thought she was trying to intimidate them like before, they followed along.

In the end, she won.

When she won, she smiled and looked at Enzo.

Enzo was speechless.

He simply continued eating.

The fried chicken was quite delicious, and he didn’t stop until he had finished every piece.

"You’re not going home this early, are you?" Charlotte suddenly asked.

Hearing that, Enzo felt as though they were actually a couple.

"No, of course not. It’s still too early," he replied. "But it’s boring for me to just sit here and watch you gamble. I’ll probably regret coming out if we don’t do anything else."

His additional comment made Charlotte furrow her brows.

Enzo had simply wanted to see how she would react after hearing that.

If it managed to make her stop gambling, then that would be incredible.

Enzo would have to praise his own charm.

"Fine," Charlotte replied, though Enzo didn’t yet know what she meant.

Interestingly, she actually closed the poker site.

"How about we go fishing? Can you fish?" she asked.

She really had decided to change activities.

Fishing?

Of course Enzo could fish. It had been one of his hobbies when he was a child.

Back then, he and his parents had lived on the outskirts of the city, with a river running behind their house.

Fishing had been one of the things he enjoyed doing.

Even though it had been a long time since he’d last gone fishing, how could he possibly forget?

"Where do you want to fish?" Enzo asked. "If it’s a fishing pond, I’m not interested."

To him, fishing was an activity that was supposed to be exciting. Fishing in an artificial pond, however, felt boring.

Fortunately, Z City had plenty of places for wild fishing, with several rivers running through the city. For example, there was the river beside the cemetery hill, which was also a favorite spot among local anglers.

Fishing there at night wasn’t ideal because the terrain was still relatively wild. However, not far away was a riverside embankment that had been turned into a recreational area where people could relax and fish both during the day and at night.

"You decide. I haven’t explored much of this city yet," Charlotte replied.

Enzo nodded.

Her question had been nothing more than casual conversation.

"Do we need to buy fishing equipment first?" he asked.

"No need. I have several fishing rods, along with plenty of bait."

"Okay, then let’s go!"

Enzo stood up, and Charlotte did the same.

As long as they had something to do, he didn’t mind staying out until morning. He could always sleep tomorrow.

They quickly returned to the car. Enzo remained behind the wheel.

He drove to the riverside embankment, which had been transformed into a riverside park.

The place was surprisingly crowded. Street vendors lined the roadside, while all kinds of performers entertained the crowds, from clowns to street singers.

Anglers could be found all along the riverbank, busy with their own fishing gear and completely ignoring the commotion behind them.

The only problem was the lack of parking spaces. Fortunately, it seemed there was no problem with parking along the roadside since the street was wide enough.

Enzo pulled the car over, turned off the engine, and looked at Charlotte.

"What are you waiting for? Let’s go," the woman said before getting out of the car.

Enzo quickly followed.

"You can decide where we should fish," he said.

Charlotte first studied the river, observing the other anglers.

Depending on the location, the results could vary.

Some anglers seemed to be catching fish one after another, while others hadn’t caught anything at all.

"Follow me," she said after observing for a while, then led the way.

Almost everyone who crossed paths with her couldn’t help but stare at her for several seconds.

Even the women were no exception.

Eventually, Charlotte stopped at an empty area farther away from the other anglers.

A large fishing bag appeared in her hand. It contained five fishing rods.

She also took out several plastic containers filled with various kinds of artificial bait. They were clean and odorless while still on land.

"By the way, I only have one folding chair. I don’t think it would be right for me to sit alone, so why don’t you take that chair?" Charlotte said, pointing toward the only empty bench in the park that could be moved.

It was the same kind of bench they had used at the café, designed for couples to sit together.

In fact, all the benches in the park were designed that way.

Enzo nodded and walked over to retrieve the bench.

A question immediately arose in his mind.

Would Charlotte take out her folding chair, or would she sit beside him?

While he was getting the bench, the woman prepared two fishing rods.

She attached bait to both hooks, cast them into the river, and planted the two rods side by side.

By the time Enzo returned with the bench, Charlotte still hadn’t taken out a folding chair.
