"It’s too late to regret it," Violet said.

"What do you want?" the man asked, beginning to look nervous.

Bullying the weak while fearing the strong was simply a common human trait.

Here, with no one else around to witness them, it would be surprising if he could actually remain calm.

"What could I possibly want from you?" Violet snorted coldly before forcibly taking his ring.

Unfortunately, it did not make her happy.

The man was extremely poor. His ring only contained a bunch of insignificant items.

The hammer was the only thing of value.

Of course, it was possible that he simply had no wealth because he had exchanged it for Skills or Talents.

This man might possess two A-Class Talents.

After furrowing her brows for a moment, Violet took out her phone.

"I’ll give you a chance to walk away. But you have to do this. Tell me everything terrible Augus has done, including the things his family has done. It doesn’t have to be true, because the truth might not be bad enough. Just make something up—say that he raped an underage girl together with her mother."

The man’s expression immediately turned ugly.

He understood that Violet intended to record everything he said.

If that video were to spread, Augus would hunt him down across the entire world.

"M-Miss, can you ask me to do something else? I can help you deal with Augus," he pleaded.

For him, this was clearly the better choice.

His loyalty to Augus was never genuine. He followed him for the benefits. If there were no other choice, he had no problem betraying him.

"We can discuss that after the video is recorded," Violet replied.

"Hurry up. Obey me and you’ll live. Otherwise, you’ll die tonight!"

Violet raised her voice and started recording.

The man began speaking with a trembling voice.

"I testify as someone who has accompanied Augus through many things. Augus once raped an underage girl together with her mother."

"Augus killed the infant child of an Awakener who had offended him."

"He once forced siblings to kill each other for the entertainment of his friends."

One by one, he listed Augus’s crimes.

Although Violet had ordered him to fabricate stories to make Augus sound even worse, the man’s expression as he spoke made it seem as though these were things he had actually witnessed.

Enzo couldn’t help wondering whether all of it was true.

After nearly five minutes, Violet stopped recording.

In the end, however, she chose not to verify any of it.

Whether it was true or not didn’t matter at all.

She released the threads binding the man and withdrew the effects of Instant Death.

Of course, maintaining Instant Death for so long had left her exhausted.

"What’s your name?" Violet asked.

"Henry Ribery," the man replied quietly.

"Give me your contact information."

"Yeah..."

Henry began reciting his phone number.

After saving it, Violet turned and walked away.

Enzo didn’t hurry to send Violet any farther, nor did he think she needed to return yet. So he simply let her wander around randomly, hoping she might stumble upon something interesting.

Through the screen, he naturally saw other Awakeners exploring the area. He made Violet avoid them, since encountering them might not end well.

Aside from the ravine from earlier, another thing caught his attention—a massive hill.

Its area should have been roughly equivalent to five soccer fields combined.

The entire hill was covered in cave entrances, making it look somewhat like an ant hill, though it was clearly something else.

Each cave entrance seemed to glow brightly, as though a powerful source of light existed deep within.

Strangely, however, the area was deserted of monsters.

Perhaps it had once been a place that concealed countless treasures, but most of them had already been taken. The traces of battles could still be seen everywhere.

Violet walked toward the hill.

As Enzo watched through the screen, he suddenly spotted a white rabbit about the size of a car.

And it was only Level 25.

It was even sleeping right in front of one of the cave entrances.

Violet approached the rabbit without hiding herself.

At the same level, most monsters were practically fish on a chopping board in her eyes.

"Hm!"

The rabbit let out a snort before suddenly opening its eyes.

When it saw Violet, it immediately stood up and opened its mouth, revealing sharp fangs.

It seemed to sense the enormous danger she posed and didn’t dare attack immediately.

"I want to go inside," she said with a smile.

Her original goal was simply to enter the hill and see what was inside.

Since the rabbit wasn’t attacking, she didn’t bother attacking it either.

Whoosh!

Suddenly, the rabbit leaped sideways.

It immediately fled in a panic, causing Violet to show a strange expression.

A fleeing monster could very well go and call its pack.

Violet didn’t care and continued toward the cave entrance in front of her.

She simply walked inside.

To her surprise, she found countless human skeletons scattered throughout the passage. Some were even embedded in the walls.

It wasn’t really a cave, but a tunnel, and the end of it appeared to be brightly illuminated.

Violet quickened her pace, eager to see what was actually hidden inside the hill.

When she finally reached the end of the tunnel, she was stunned.

There was a massive crater filled with extremely hot lava.

The light she had seen naturally came from the lava.

The endless churning of the molten lava was an intimidating sight. If someone fell into it, it was difficult to say whether they could survive.

"Eh..."

Both Enzo and Violet were startled.

There was someone standing at the end of another tunnel—a red-haired woman in her thirties wearing a long, open coat.

Rebecca Morgan.

Naturally, Rebecca noticed Violet first.

She furrowed her brows for a moment.

"Little girl, come here!" she called out, her voice echoing clearly through the cavern.

Enzo was startled upon hearing that. He hadn’t expected Rebecca to call Violet over.

It immediately put him on guard.

The problem was that Violet had done several terrible things to George.

Of course, it was far more likely that Rebecca simply didn’t care. If she did, she would have searched for Violet long ago. Given the enormous difference in their levels, it would have been incredibly easy for her to bully Violet.

Violet walked toward Rebecca along the cliff beside the crater.

Enzo decided to find out why the woman had called Violet, believing that if Rebecca had malicious intentions, there was no way Violet would be able to escape anyway.

If that happened, he could only reveal the truth.

It didn’t take long before Violet arrived in front of Rebecca.

In front of this woman, Enzo naturally made Violet maintain proper manners. She didn’t speak first or ask why Rebecca had called her.

"What level are you at now?" Rebecca asked.

"Twenty-five," Violet replied.

"Not bad. You’ve been quite lucky."

Rebecca could naturally tell that Violet had obtained an Ascension Crystal that had accelerated her leveling.

There was no way someone could level up this quickly through normal means.

From the way Rebecca spoke, it was obvious that she harbored no ill feelings toward Violet.

"Is there something you need, Lady Morgan?" Violet finally asked.

"Do you want to come down with me?"

"What do you mean?"

Violet’s composure faltered upon hearing that.

"Of course. Down into the lava."

"What’s down there?" Violet asked again, taking a deep breath.

Without knowing the details, she couldn’t simply agree.

The problem was that the lava was dangerous enough to turn her into ashes.

When asked, Rebecca smiled slightly.

"In the past, we didn’t even know there was lava here because the surface was covered by solid ground. But it collapsed during a battle between Awakeners."

"Look."

She pointed downward.

Violet’s eyes widened as she saw the lava begin to split apart from one end to the other.

The woman could actually control it.

That meant she possessed an extremely powerful fire-related ability.

Very quickly, the lava split even deeper.

"This..."

Violet’s eyes widened and trembled.

She saw an egg.

An enormous egg that nearly filled the entire area beneath the lava.

If compared to something familiar, Enzo could only say that it was more than half the size of a soccer field.

"This is nothing. You’ll see something far more terrifying down there—something frightening enough to make you never want to think about it again," Rebecca said with a smile.

"Is there a risk of death?" Violet asked.

Enzo was extremely curious, but he didn’t want to take unnecessary risks.

"No. There’s no danger. If there were, I would probably die too, not just you. You might even be lucky enough to find the fortune hidden down there. Besides, there are other people down there exploring as well."

"Alright!"

Violet immediately nodded.

If there was no danger, how could Enzo be afraid?

Besides, Violet wouldn’t truly die even if something happened. She still had a chance to come back to life.

"Then let’s go now!"

Rebecca grabbed Violet’s hand and pulled her as they jumped down.

From the hand holding Violet’s, Enzo could sense an enormous physical strength—something Violet had no chance of resisting.

They descended incredibly fast.

BANG!

They landed right beside the egg.

The lava above closed again, but it didn’t actually reach the bottom. It simply floated along the sides of the cavern walls.

It didn’t take long before both Enzo and Violet were stunned by the scenery around them.
