Alan Usher was clearly taken aback by what Perry Yates said, but on second thought, she had a point.

The Survival Game Administration did indeed purchase items players brought out of the game at high prices. And as for The Card Tavern...

To be honest, Alan Usher had very complicated feelings about The Card Tavern.

The Card Tavern’s appearance had impacted his offline trade meets, but it had also, in fact, helped him solve a huge problem.

Just then, the sound of shovels digging into dirt echoed from nearby.

The two of them instantly stopped talking. After listening carefully, they quickly pinpointed the source of the sound.

And it was coming from more than one direction.

The two didn’t choose to leave, and they certainly didn’t interfere with the two people digging.

Perry Yates glanced left, then right, wondering which of the two would finish digging first.

The answer came soon enough. The person on the right was slightly faster.

With a muffled THUD, the wall to the right suddenly vanished. A burly man in a tank top, carrying a backpack, swaggered through.

Alan Usher stood about six-foot-three, but this man was even taller. He was powerfully built, and his exposed skin was covered in tattoos, a silent declaration that he was not someone to be trifled with.

The big man showed no surprise at finding others in the cave. Instead, a flicker of excitement lit up his eyes.

He sized up the pair. When his gaze landed on Perry Yates, a flicker of lust flashed in his eyes.

"Hand over everything you have. The man leaves, the woman stays."

As he spoke, the big man brandished a fist the size of a sandbag, threatening them.

Faced with the man’s threat, Perry Yates glanced at Alan Usher. Her look was unmistakable. ’You take care of this guy.’

In response, Alan Usher didn’t move immediately. He just blinked, as if to say, ’And why should I?’

Perry Yates turned and glanced toward the left.

Seeing this, Alan Usher relented.

A few dozen seconds later, the big man who had just been threatening them was now a fresh corpse.

His face was still frozen in an arrogant expression at the moment of his death.

Perry Yates walked over to the man and expertly began to search his body.

She recognized this man. Not long ago, at The Card Tavern, he hadn’t had enough cards to make a purchase. He’d wanted to pay in installments, but Perry Yates had refused.

The man had made a scene about it and ended up being thrown out by the butler.

Therefore, Perry Yates was fairly certain that this man would have a good number of cards on him.

And just as Perry Yates had expected, after searching the man from head to toe, she found a thick stack of cards. Some were even stained with blood, a clear sign they hadn’t been acquired legitimately.

After she finished looting the body, Perry Yates felt an intense gaze on her back.

Turning around, Perry Yates tossed half of the spoils to Alan Usher.

’Tch. This is exactly why I hate teaming up with people.’

One threat down, one to go.

Perry Yates looked toward the source of the other digging sound.

Compared to the big man’s speed, this person was noticeably slower. It took them a full half-hour to break through the wall.

Unfortunately for them, after all that effort, they didn’t even have a moment to celebrate before they met the same fate as the big man.

This time, it was Perry Yates who acted.

「Day six of the game.」

Perry Yates woke up and sighed at the sight of Alan Usher waking at the same moment. ’This guy has really latched onto me, and it’s not like I can just kick him out.’

This time, Perry Yates chose to start digging at the ground beneath her feet.

Not wanting Alan Usher to get a free ride, Perry Yates pulled out a digging tool and gave it to him.

Alan Usher accepted it without any fuss and began to work enthusiastically.

The moment they broke through, the ground beneath them vanished entirely, and they lost their footing, plunging downwards.

While the two were in freefall,

CRACK!

A black shadow cut through the air, whipping toward Perry Yates.

Caught in mid-air and with no time to react, Perry Yates could only manage to cross her arms to shield her vulnerable neck and face.

The immense force slammed her entire body into a wall.

’Sss, that hurts!’

’I haven’t been sent flying like this since the game started.’

While Perry Yates was still reeling from the pain, her body yet to recover, something beneath her began to stir.

Something cold and covered in hard bristles wrapped around her arms, legs, ankles, and waist like a snake. It gradually tightened its grip, as if intending to snap her in two.

When she saw that the things wrapped around her were just plants, Perry Yates was instantly indignant. ’I’m always the one tangling other people up in vines. Since when is it my turn to get tied up?’

With that thought, a burst of energy erupted from her body, and a series of even stronger vines grew out of her.

The two sets of vines coiled around each other, each trying to strangle the other to death.

Now free, Perry Yates took a moment to survey her surroundings.

By the light from above, she could see that everything, as far as the eye could see, was green.

No, to be more precise, it was completely covered in green vines.

Not far from where she had just landed, a green cocoon was shaking violently.

There was no one else in sight. Perry Yates looked at the cocoon. The answer to who was inside was obvious.

Drawing a knife from her waist, Perry Yates approached the cocoon. "Don’t move," she said. "I’ll cut you out."

As she spoke, Perry Yates reached out and grabbed a handful of vines.

The moment her palm touched the vines, Perry Yates felt a sharp prick, like being lightly poked with a needle. It wasn’t very painful, so she paid it no mind.

She made quick work of the cocoon, cutting it open to reveal Alan Usher inside.

Alan Usher appeared unharmed on the surface, but his face was deathly pale. The moment he moved, tiny beads of blood began to seep from all over his body.

"Be careful. The plants here suck blood." At Alan Usher’s warning, Perry Yates seemed to recall something. She lifted her hand and looked at her palm. Sure enough, just as with Alan, the moment she squeezed her fist, tiny beads of blood began to ooze from her skin.

The Wood Attribute possessed some healing properties, and the wounds on Perry Yates’s hand quickly vanished.
