Apocalypse Descends: I Win Effortlessly by Turning Trash into Treasure
Chapter 224: Haisa 7"Ladies, would you two care to give me a reasonable explanation?"
Perry Yates’s sudden words broke the standoff between the two women.
Upon hearing Perry Yates, it was as if the two only just then noticed their surroundings.
Seeing the room they had utterly wrecked, the woman in black remained expressionless, though a flicker of awkwardness and unease crossed her eyes. The woman in red, however, was far more brazen. She flashed Perry Yates a bright, flamboyant smile and said, "Don’t be mad. I didn’t mean to; this woman is just so infuriating that I couldn’t help myself. As for the room, I’ll put it back to how it was."
As she spoke, the woman in red snapped her fingers. The next second, the entire room, as if under a time-reversal Magic spell, actually returned to its original state.
Watching this miraculous scene, Perry Yates’s eyes filled with astonishment.
’What kind of ability is this? A Talent? A Skill? Or an item?’
"Is that your Talent?" Perry Yates asked curiously.
"No, it’s just a little item. It’s useless for anything besides restoring things a bit."
The one who spoke was the woman in black.
’Judging from their behavior just now, there’s definitely some bad blood between them. A lot of it.’
’In other words, they might be from the same planet.’
Perry Yates walked to a chair and sat down, looking at the two with the air of a proprietor. She spoke unhurriedly, "Alright, out with it. What do you want from me?"
"We came to you for healing, of course."
As she spoke, the woman in red rolled up her sleeve, revealing a wound on her arm.
There were five gashes that looked like they were made by claws. They weren’t very deep, but the skin around them was faintly black.
The area around the wound looked like it had been treated, but the wound itself showed no signs of healing.
Meanwhile, the woman in black also revealed her own injuries.
She had more wounds—three in total, on her abdomen, back, and arm. All of them were deep enough to expose the bone.
After seeing the wounds on the woman in black and thinking back to the state of her room, Perry Yates had to admire them. ’To be this injured and still wreck my room like that... These two weren’t just ruthless, they were something else entirely.’
"By the way, how did you know I could heal?" Perry Yates asked.
Although it was a question, Perry Yates already knew the answer. ’Who else could it be but that man from yesterday? Damn it. So much for gratitude.’
This time, however, Perry Yates had misunderstood.
"We figured it out. Felix Flynn was with us and got injured too, but he was perfectly fine afterward. We did a little digging and found out he walked out of your room this morning."
"And you concluded I can heal just because of that? What if I was just Felix Flynn’s one-night stand or something?"
The moment Perry Yates finished speaking, both women’s faces twisted in disgust. "That guy Felix Flynn might be a playboy and a total scumbag in real life, but he never messes around inside the game. Not with players, not with NPCs."
"Fine. But let’s get this straight: I charge for my services. Not money—cards. Healing costs two one-star cards. Detoxification costs two one-star cards. That’s four cards total. The price is fixed, regardless of the severity or number of wounds. Payment upfront."
"Was that the same price for Felix Flynn?" the woman in black asked.
Perry Yates nodded.
’That price was what Felix Flynn himself set.’
At that, the two women each took out their cards and handed them to Perry Yates.
After receiving her consultation fee, Perry Yates wasted no time and immediately began the treatment.
Her first task was making the Antidote. The woman in black’s injuries were more severe, so Perry started with her, all while the cure was in the works.
And so, Perry Yates worked late into the night until she had finally healed them both.
She had originally intended to make just one antidote, but considering the two’s relationship, she prepared two separate doses to avoid any trouble.
Fortunately, neither of them had any adverse reactions after injecting the Antidote.
Before leaving, the woman in red smiled at Perry Yates and said, "Oh, by the way, my name is Pearl Norris. It was nice meeting you. I hope we see each other again."
Hearing this, Perry Yates grumbled internally, ’Let’s hope not. I just want to survive this game in one piece.’
’That’s what I’d like, anyway,’ she thought. Perry had a feeling she wouldn’t be getting any peace and quiet this game. After all, three players had already come to her door. Including herself, that was almost half the players. ’Would the rest be far behind?’
Perry Yates shook her head, pushing the thoughts from her mind. ’Whatever. I’ll just take it one step at a time. If things get too bad, I can always just be a doctor in the rear.’
Before falling asleep, Perry Yates realized she had forgotten something, but she couldn’t recall what it was no matter how hard she tried.
’Oh well, if I can’t remember it, I won’t worry about it.’
Perry Yates decided not to trouble herself over it. She popped all the Sunflowers on her body, which turned into golden beads smaller than marbles. After putting these beads into the backpack she carried with her, she pulled up the covers and fell fast asleep.
「Until the third day of the game.」
Today, Perry Yates went to the swimming pool to sunbathe as usual. When she saw the patrol team making their rounds, it suddenly hit her. She finally remembered what she had forgotten.
She had forgotten to check on the cargo behind the deck.
’I’ll have my Spiritual Body go take a look in a bit.’
Arriving at the same spot as yesterday, Perry Yates lay down and began to sunbathe.
But unlike yesterday’s leisurely session, an invisible butterfly formed from spiritual power flew out from Perry Yates’s forehead, flapping its wings as it soared into the distance.
Perry Yates’s consciousness followed her Spiritual Body all the way to the area behind the deck, where she soon saw a dozen or so giant shipping containers.
She had previously assumed all the containers held the same things, so she had only checked one of them.
Coming back now, Perry Yates discovered that the container she had inspected before had been opened. But not in a normal way. A hole had been cut into the side of the container, and through the opening, she could see that much of the contents was gone.
Furthermore, another container not far from this one also showed signs of being forcefully broken into.
However, compared to the first container, the attempt on this one seemed to have failed.
’Could it have been two different groups of people? One group succeeded, while the other failed.’
Perry Yates moved her Spiritual Body toward the breached container, wanting to see what was inside.
Just as she got close, she suddenly heard a RUSTLING sound.
The things inside this container... seemed to be alive.
