’Last Saturday?’

Perry Yates took out her phone and checked the time. It was Saturday.

That meant these cards had appeared long before players like them had.

After taking the money, Una Lynch didn’t leave right away. Instead, he asked cautiously, "Miss, are these cards very important?"

"They might just be ordinary cards to you, but to me, they’re very important," Perry Yates said seriously.

Hearing Perry Yates say the cards were important, Una Lynch’s eyes darted thoughtfully. "Miss," he said, "if I can get more cards, can I sell them to you, too?"

At this, Perry Yates’s eyes lit up. "Of course. I’ll buy as many as you can find."

An excited look spread across Una Lynch’s face. "It’s a deal! In that case, Miss, how do I contact you?"

Perry Yates thought for a moment. "Let’s just meet here. If you come wait here, I can arrive in about ten minutes."

While waiting earlier, she had left seeds of Arbitrary Grass in the area. As soon as she sensed the boy’s presence, she could instantly open an Any Door and come over.

"Miss, do you have a lot of free time?" Una Lynch asked, blinking.

Perry Yates chuckled and ruffled his hair. "That’s grown-up business," she said with a smile. "Little kids should stay out of it."

After returning to the guesthouse, Perry Yates went back to her room.

The couple next door seemed to have gone out, which made Perry Yates sigh in relief.

Once back in her room, Perry Yates activated Invisibility and used Instant Teleportation to go into the room next door.

The room was spotlessly clean, with no personal belongings in sight. You would have thought they had already checked out.

However, on her way back, she had specifically asked the front desk and learned that they hadn’t checked out.

After glancing around the room, Perry Yates’s gaze finally landed on the fish tank in the corner.

The owner of the guesthouse seemed to love fish, as every room had a fish tank with a few brightly colored goldfish inside.

Walking over to the fish tank, Perry Yates reached out and tapped the water’s surface. The next second, a blue lotus flower bloomed on the water.

But just as quickly, the Water Lotus vanished from the surface.

This was a card Perry Yates had fused in the Card Furnace before entering the game. It possessed Water, Wood, and Spirit attributes and was named Water Lotus.

Although it looked like a lotus, she could use her spiritual power to see through it, and she could also use the Water Lotus to attack.

After setting this up, Perry Yates returned to her room.

Lying on her bed and gazing at the pristine white ceiling, Perry Yates couldn’t help but laugh out loud.

’Today’s trip was absolutely worth it.’

’However, the fact that players are snatching cards means some of them have probably figured out the secret.’

After all, compared to adults, children are more drawn to collecting pretty-looking things.

And the cards, regardless of their level, were all undeniably beautiful and exquisite.

’If that’s the case, I’ll have to be even more careful from now on.’

Taking advantage of the empty room next door, Perry Yates quickly looked through the cards she had collected today.

Ninety percent of them were White Cards, which she had already expected.

After she picked out the dozen or so Skill Cards, the rest were all various item cards.

Aside from various types of food, there were stones, wood, toilet paper, sports underwear, mineral water, gloves, umbrellas, raincoats, rain boots, sewing kits, fishing rods, harpoons, teacups, seasoning packets, first-aid kits, sexy swimsuits, and even a wooden boat.

While the couple next door still hadn’t returned, Perry Yates performed Ascension on all the White Cards.

Halfway through the Ascension process, she felt her energy was nearly depleted.

She couldn’t use it all up, as she needed to reserve some energy for her proxy to operate outside.

Just then, the door to the next room suddenly opened. Perry Yates quickly stopped what she was doing, closed her eyes, and pretended to be resting.

In reality, all of her attention was focused on the room next door.

In the room next door, the woman angrily threw her backpack onto the bed the moment she entered. Annoyance was written all over her face.

"This is so frustrating! We searched all day and only found a few White Cards. Nothing else! If this keeps up, the best we can hope for is to just quit the game on day fifteen."

Compared to the woman’s frustration, the man seemed much calmer.

"It’s only the third day. We still have time. Besides, don’t we already know the game’s clue?"

"Torrential rain and flooding? You believe what they said? What if they were lying to us?" the woman asked.

The man shook his head. "I doubt it. That person was from the Survival Game Administration. They have nothing to gain by deceiving us."

Hearing this, the woman finally calmed down. She nodded and said, "You’re right. Then we need to find a two-star card, or even a higher-level one, before the torrential rain arrives."

"Actually, White Cards aren’t so bad. I heard a place called The Card Tavern opened up recently. You can supposedly custom-order cards of any level and attribute there. If our luck in the game doesn’t improve, we could try our luck at The Card Tavern."

"But we’d have to survive in the game for a full thirty days to be able to take anything out.

And without a Space Backpack, the two of us can only take out twenty cards at most."

At this, the two of them couldn’t help but sigh. This survival game was just too unforgiving for new players like them.

Other players who had been through several rounds, even if they quit halfway each time, could still buy cards from the Survival Game Administration with money, so they wouldn’t be helpless after entering the game.

The ones who were truly helpless were rookie players like them.

The survival game had been around for over half a year, and they had often seen posts about it online.

But theory is one thing, and practice is another. No matter how many posts they had read, when it was finally their turn, they were bound to be flustered.

Even Perry Yates, back when she was first chosen for the game, had appeared perfectly calm on the surface, but in her heart, she had already braced for the worst possible outcome.

In her own room, Perry Yates listened to their conversation. Once she realized they were just novice players, she lost interest.

’The Space Backpack thing is worth considering, though. I should stock a batch of them when I get back.’
