[Breaking news! The Paranormal Liberation Order strikes again.
The eastern wing of Oakwood City University, located in the West front State of Dormany Empire in the Eastern Continent has been completely destroyed. All students and staff present in the eastern wing of Oakwood City University have been considered dead.
The terrorists, theorised to be intermediate rank 3 warriors, self detonated themselves after releasing high dose, gaseous lethal advanced rank 3 poisons into the atmosphere.
Many are asking the same question.
Are we really safe? And what is the International Union doing about the Paranormal Liberation Order?]
Aiden listened to the news on the mini TV of the cab with a calm expression on his face.
The anchor continued.
[Excellency Edrisa Van and Excellency Armstrong Lee, have personally made a public appearance at the memorial service of the deceased.
Here is what Excellency Edrisa Van has to say about the Paranormal Liberation Order]
The feed switched to the memorial service of the dead warriors in Oakwood City University.
Excellency Edrisa Van, a beautiful dark skinned woman in a dark dress, was flanked by Armstrong Lee. The two had expressions of sorrow and anger on their faces.
Cameras flashed across the place as several media houses wanted to listen to what they had to say.
[We promise everyone that we won’t rest until we find the headquarters of the Paranormal Liberation Order and exterminate them.
Rest assured, we are doing everything we can to locate them.
As for the family of the deceased, we express our sincere condolences]
Edrisa and Armstrond performed a waist length bow.
She continued.
[The International Union apologizes to you all]
After that, the duo entered an aircraft and left the memorial service. They were legendary rank 4 warriors. They all had serious duties. Wasting their time at a funeral was not gonna bring back the dead..
The television screen switched back to the anchor, who went ahead to talk about other stuff.
The driver sighed and turned to his passenger seated at the back, who was naturally Aiden.
"This Paranormal Liberation Order is quite troublesome. These days, my heart is full of fear when my children go to school. After all, a member of the Paranormal Liberation Order could be everywhere. What if they die as a result of an attack of those lunatics? If the International Union cannot stop them, who can? Bunch of fuckers. How do those Paranormal Liberation Order bastards get to decide that ending Civilisation will bring peace? What a bunch of lunatics. They think they get to decide who lives and who dies?"
The driver was so frustrated that his spittle was flying all over. Aiden could see that the guy was very concerned about his children. It was understandable.
Aiden was not someone to judge whether someone was right or wrong. Neither was he someone who would judge the Paranormal Liberation Order for their actions.
However he agreed with the driver on one thing.
The Order did not get to decide whether he, Aiden Vhorn, and his loved ones, would live or die. Their motives and their ambitions, and their morality was not his to decide or judge. But he knew their actions and ideologies did not align with his. Their ideologies would get him and his loved ones killed. Aiden pursued eternal autonomy. This meant that no one got to decide whether he or those he loved lived or died.
"I really need to become stronger quickly," Aiden thought.
He nodded politely to the driver.
"Sorry that I keep rambling on. Do you have kids sir?" The man asked Aiden.
"No worries. Not really," Aiden replied.
"My bad. I figured because you were headed to the Alchemist Association, you are a warrior. Warriors can retain their youthful looks because of their cultivation. I presumed you were a middle aged person with a family of your own, despite your young looks," The driver chuckled.
This man was pretty talkative. Aiden sighed.
Also, middle aged? What the...
"No worries," Aiden replied and returned to his phone.
The driver figured he may have offended the passenger by saying he thought the passenger was a middle aged man.
"I should really learn how to keep my mouth shut. My wife keeps telling me this," He sighed inwardly and decided not to bother the passenger again.
Eventually, the car pulled to a stop before a tall Skyscraper.
"We are here sir," The driver said.
Aiden nodded. "Can I send the payment to you? I don’t have physical cash on me?"
"Sure sir," The driver replied as he gave his number to Aiden.
Aiden sent the money to the driver.
The driver checked the phone.
[Payment received from Aiden Vhorn..
50990 dollars]
The driver looked at the name with shock on his face.
"Thanks for the ride." Aiden got out of the car, took out his umbrella and walked towards the Alchemist Association Building.
The driver muttered in realization.
"No wonder he looked so familiar. It was him. Aiden Vhorn. The Crimson Reaper? But he looked so polite in person? Is he really the person known for the Massacre of Burning Sands and other feats?
I actually told him I thought he was a middle aged man?"
He felt a chill crawl up his spine.
Fortunately for him, the crimson reaper didn’t seem like the kind to be too petty. Else...
"I should really be careful about how I speak to people." The driver quickly drove off, afraid that Aiden Vhorn would change his mind and return to kill him.
Oblivious to the driver’s crazy thoughts, Aiden walked into the Alchemist Association building.
When he entered the building, several people were walking across the ground floor.
Many people entered and came out of several elevators which led to different floors.
A man was at the front, seated behind a counter.
Aiden walked to him.
"What can I do for you sir?" The man asked professionally.
"I’m here to purchase some rank 3 poisons please. Can you kindly show me where to go?" Aiden said.
The man assessed him. This man looked very ordinary and simple. His clothes were not expensive. Also, he didn’t have any worldly energy undulations on him. But considering the calm expression in his eyes, he was a seasoned warrior. He was not ordinary. It was either he was a rank 3 warrior who had purchased an aura masking artifact, or he was connected to a powerful rank 3 warrior who had handed him one.
Also, he didn’t think anyone would stupidly come here to buy rank 3 poisons if they didn’t have the money to buy them.
"Heh, some newbie rank 1 warrior wants to buy rank 3 poisons," A pretty lady snickered. Those in the vicinity looked at the brown haired man standing before the counter.
The man at the counter suddenly found the brown haired man’s face familiar.
Then, an image he had recently seen on television overlapped with the image of the man before him.
Aiden Vhorn.
"Mr Vhorn, sorry I didn’t recognize you, please..." The man said. Aiden Vhorn was no ordinary warrior. He was the most terrifying genius to have ever appeared in the Eldorath Empire. His military accomplishments were also well known to all in the empire. He was the real deal.
Aiden nodded and followed the man into an elevator.
The lady who snickered earlier could not help but feel her legs grow weak. Fortunately, Aiden Vhorn didn’t pay attention to what she said about him earlier.
Everyone looked at her with scorn. This lady actually had the guts to look down on Aiden Vhorn?
Heh. What a pity. Aiden Vhorn didn’t pay attention to her. He had already left the place. They would have loved to see her receive a few slaps of humiliation from him. Recently, some guy at the Frontlines was trending on Riktok for offending him. It was a pity this lady got off so easily.
The lady quietly walked out of the building in haste. Her mother always told her that her arrogance would get her killed one day. Now, she understood her.
"I need to stop judging people based on their appearance," She sighed and walked off in the rain.
