Ascension Of The Blood Supreme

Chapter 152. Entering zone zero.

Aiden stepped out of the Alchemist Association Building.

He had just finished purchasing a batch of beginner and intermediate rank 3 poisons. They were all gaseous poisons. He chose gaseous poisons because he wanted to launch area of effect attacks.

Some of the poisons he had purchased were illusion based poisons. Some were poisons that could paralyze and slow movements. There were also poisons that could temporarily dwarf senses. And there were poisons that could outrightly kill the enemy. He would have bought only the poisons that could outright kill the enemy. However, the amount of money he had could not purchase them. This was why he resorted to poisons with other effects in addition to the ones that could outright kill the enemy.

"My preparations can be said to be complete now. I should head to zone zero immediately and familiarise myself with the environment there before those from the Cyrenthia Empire arrive," Aiden thought.

Crimson wings formed from his blood and appeared on his back. He flapped his crimson wings and bolted towards the skies like a streak of light, headed towards zone zero.

Several days later.

A fellow in crimson armor with crimson wings could be seen flying across a dense forest network. Rain splattered across the crimson armor.

This person was Aiden Vhorn. Because he didn’t want to get into trouble by travelling across the rank 3 and rank 4 region of the danger zones of Emrea City, he had rounded around them.

Currently, he was travelling above a forest full of rank 2 chaotic beasts, outside the rank 4 danger zone of Emrea City. He had left Emrea City’s territory.

During this journey, Aiden had been killing several rank 2 chaotic beasts and absorbing their blood essence.

Today was the fourth day of his journey to zone zero.

His enhanced vision picked up something far from his current location. It was ahead.

The skies above the region ahead were extremely humid, a mixture of icy and tropical fog.

A mixture of forests, abandoned ruined civilization and dense ice.

Several skyscrapers were completely covered in ice. Some of them had green vines stretching across their exterior and interiors completely. Colossal trees spiraled upwards like never before, peering through the clouds.

Some regions were completely overlaid with ice and glaciers. Other parts were completely evergreen with dense lush vegetation.

Blizzards swept through the place. Sometimes, certain vines would suddenly lash across the place. Even the trees here were dangerous biological hazards.

Everything there was also large.

Chaotic beasts as large as mountains, and skyscrapers. Even an ant was several times larger than several cars.

The chaotic beasts were rank 2 and rank 3 chaotic beasts. Aiden identified that there were even legendary rank 3 chaotic beasts in zone zero. He made a mental note to never have any business threading the territories of advanced, expert and legendary rank 3 chaotic beasts when he arrived in zone zero. He didn’t want to die. He would focus on using his poisons to get rid of beginner and intermediate rank 3 chaotic beasts, rank 2 chaotic beasts and absorb their blood essence.

As for the operatives that would be sent from Cyrenthia Empire, he would hunt them from the shadows. There was no way he would expose himself to them directly, unless absolutely necessary.

With this plan in mind, Aiden flapped his crimson wings and bolted towards zone zero.

The rain came down heavily. The twin moons above shone their lights beneath.

Aiden, in his crimson armor, with his crimson wings on his back, stood at the edge of zone zero.

The place ahead was very cold.

Even before he took a step into the dense ruin overgrown forest, he felt the severe chill coming out of the place.

Aiden tuned up his enhanced sense of smell. Now, his enhanced vision, smell and hearing were operating at full throttle. He did not want to suddenly walk into a trap when he entered zone zero. The environment itself was very hazardous. One could even die before chaotic beasts did the job for them.

Several blobs of blood materialised before Aiden and turned into large crimson arrows. Some of the blobs of blood turned into two crimson daggers with extremely sharp edges that glistened under the moonlight.

Aiden held the two daggers.

He took the first step into zone zero as he flapped his crimson wings.

Aiden passed through several trees. Across him, he could see, smell and hear everything. He was extremely careful as he moved.

The moment he entered zone zero, the temperature plummeted completely. The air here was fresh, cold and suffocating at the same time.

The visibility to the normal eye would be very low. Dense fog permeated the place. And giant tree leaves had formed large canopies all over, casting large shadows beneath.

His current location was a mixture of ice and vegetation. Some of the trees were covered in ice. Some weren’t.

At some places, the ground was very marshy and moist, full of swamps hiding dangerous beasts beneath their surface. At other places though, the grounds were completely encased in ice.

Aiden decided to play it safe and fly. He moved with swift, covert efficiency.

The crimson arrows floating across him shot towards three directions where several marshes were. A group of brown legendary rank 2 serpents, lurking beneath the swamps shot towards him from four different directions.

To them, they were hunting prey. They didn’t know Aiden had already identified them. And no threat in the area was out of his sight.

Shards of ice shot out of their mouths towards him. Their figures trailed behind their attacks. Simultaneously, they opened their mouths to consume him.

The crimson arrows cleaved through the icicles with overwhelming might. The icicles crushed into pieces and spread across the place.

The crimson arrows continued towards the mouths of the ginormous serpents.

The crimson arrows arced and spun, and entered their mouths before they could reach Aiden.

Puchi... puchi...

The sounds of flesh being pierced resounded across the place.

The crimson arrows pierced through the innards of the snakes with effortless lethality. In a few moments, all their internal organs had been pierced. They screamed and fell on the ground. The ground shook. Blood fell out of their large mouths. The serpents finally stopped moving. They were dead.

The crimson arrows shot out of their bodies and returned near Aiden, floating near him.

Aiden absorbed the blood essence of the serpents. After that, he kept their corpses in his storage bracelet. He wanted to use the corpses of beasts he killed to set some traps later.

Then, he ventured deeper.
