They decided to take the long route and circle around the places with the most intense battles.
However this would delay them for even longer, possibly taking weeks to reach the center whereas it would’ve taken days now.
Or at least at equivalent of days, " Can’t you teleport us closer?" He asked.
" There’s an 85 percent chance we’ll enter a spatial rift if I do, the space around here has become fragile.
The spatial cracks are everywhere, teleporting isn’t safe, perhaps those at the mid to late stage of creation realm could but I can’t.
Perhaps if you enter the dream realm we can skip this region of space."
Her suggestion was sound but there was an issue, the dream realm seemed to be closed off, it has been for a while now.
The very issue troubling her was troubling him, he couldn’t enter it as if the door was shut close.
’ It’s probably the dream guard, maybe he doesn’t want the dream realm caught up in this war.’
While he could still use dream magic, he couldn’t physically enter the dream realm, maybe he could with his mind that would be useless right now.
He can still enter the mystic realm using the rainbow tree but he couldn’t navigate that realm at all.
Besides, it wouldn’t matter if the tree remained in the same place since it was his only gate in and out.
So, reluctantly they chose to take the long route, stealth was the priory here, even if the mission takes longer.
They travelled through an empty region of space watching the galaxy shaking battles thousands of light years away from them.
Two weeks later they finally see it, the centre of the universe didn’t look very impressive, it looked like a massive black hole.
Except it didn’t suck thing in, it just floated there silently, space and time bent around it to the extreme.
Ved slowly and cautiously floated towards it, they’ve already taken a singularity before but it wasn’t as volatile as this.
Suddenly as they were about to reach it, they felt buzzing like a swarm of insects behind them.
They looked back and saw a swarm of crickets flying towards them at rapid speed, the crickets did not look impressive.
They were about the size of a human fist with a green body. However they had razor sharp teeth and were numerous.
Ved could see them biting empty space as they moved but it looked different to Naledi, her sensitivity to space made her see it clearly.
They went just biting empty space but consuming it, it looked terrifying to her as they were eating the law itself.
Behind them she could see a much larger cricket just floating there watching the two of them.
" It’s a herald of plagues." She whispered, " Go, I’ll it back." She urged him, Ved didn’t argue.
He had confidence in her. Even she couldn’t win, she could at least escape even though the herald has cultivation at creation realm.
Ved also couldn’t explain his confidence in her but he just trusted in her strength as unreasonable as that might seem considering her situation.
Ved used the wings of Garuda, they’ve exposed already, that cricket can see through his stealth.
Space rippled around him as he shot towards the singularity like a beam of black light.
The wave of crickets flew at him like a flood but an ethereal form stood before them with a sword in hand.
Naledi snapped her finger and billions of crickets froze instantly but before she could react the ice disappeared.
’ Did they cancel my ability?’ she wondered with a frown.
" Ke ke ke, you cannot destroy my little children foolish thing, your essence energy and even your laws are nothing but a snack to us, we..." The herald spoke in a grating voice.
"Shut up Jimminy cricket." Naledi cut it off mid sentence, she wasn’t going to waste her energy.
Since it said they can consume it, then she won’t give it to them. She watched as they spread.
’ So they don’t just consume energy but use it to reproduce, or multiple.’ she thought to herself.
Naledi raised her sword and held it with both hands parallel to her head. ’ If energy attacks won’t work, then I’ll just cut them up.’
Seeing her intentions the herald started laughing, " Foolish, there are countless of my children and they’re growing endlessly in number.
Do you think you alone with your trinket can do anything to them, foolish truly foolish. Let me show you despair."
" You talk too many much." Naledi used her law force on her self increasing her momentum.
Her body flickered and the next moment she was behind the herald, even it was caught off guard by her speed.
This was her fighting style she deviced not long ago, she had long prepared for a situation where she couldn’t use her powerful abilities and laws.
She wasn’t as powerful as Ved when it comes to physical strength and she knew she’ll never be.
Not even if she pushed her law of force to the extreme, Ved was an absolute beast, she was certain on the same realm and level.
There wasn’t a being in existence who can match his physical strength. That how abnormal he was.
However she could increase her speed and momentum of her own attacks to the point of being dangerous to others.
Her sword cut space leaving a thin slits of ripped space. " Sword art: Dimensional Slash."
Space itself was rendered asunder by her sword, unfortunately she had greatly underestimated the extent of their power.
The space slash was devoured in a blink of an, it only managed to kill a few hundred thousand crickets.
But those were basically a drop in an ocean, those numbers were replenished even faster.
" I told you foolish one, your laws are nothing but a snack to use." The herald spoke revealing itself behind its children.
It had used them as a shield to block her attack. ’ If only I had martial dao like Ved, I could kill this bitch with a single attack.’
Naledi was not as talented as Ved, White ot Cat when it comes to martial arts, no matter how much she trained, she couldn’t attain martial dao.
’ No matter, I guess my sword alone should do, still, I might’ve overestimated myself here, I should’ve went and Ved stay, he’s more suited for this.’
She felt her annoyed at her confidence, she just wanted to sound cool to her man.
