Thw herald fought back, his fist flashed like a heavenly hammer turning a large warthog into blood mist.

Just as he was about to attack another beast, countless tentacles bound his body and stabbed into him.

His body became sluggish, a large jellyfish floated above him, he looked up and just as he was about to attack.

A giant black snake wrapped around his body and constricted tightly. The already cracked bone armour found it even harder to hold on.

Both beasts were at the early rank 8 realm and they were strongest of this group that attacked him.

The rest of the beasts lunged at the void beasts and vermin and they teared each other apart.

The three women watched this with frozen expressions. Siri shook her head and without a word shot off into space.

The other two followed her, she was chasing after Haruko and it didn't take long for her to find him.

He was still flying through empty space at a speed relative to light. She caught up and caught him.

Then Alya teleported all three of them back to base. The rest had also returned, by some miracle they managed to repell the overwhelming army.

There were heavy casualties, especially amongst the two sects and the black dragon army.

The mood was somber, Aira sighed when Siri reported what had happened. What even sadder was that they couldn't even retrieve a body.

However they had worn, through unfavorable odds they had come through the other side.

She sighed, ' I need to prepare funeral arrangements for the big guy, I'll make sure many people attend, I bet he would've hated that.' she smiled sadly.

But they were grown now, they had watched too many people die, sad as the death of their friend was, they wouldn't wallow in pity.

They had a duty, there were those whose fates were even less on their hands than their own.

It was up to them who at least had a trickle of power to protect those who were not even strong enough to be aware of the threat surrounding them.

She looked down at the planets they were supposed to protect. Even the scientific advanced planet was no different.

They were too ignorant of the vaster universe let alone the entire multiverse. She sighed again.

---------------------------------------

While the others were mourning the death of their friend, Ved was facing the strongest enemy on his own rank he has ever fought.

The prince of bones was a battle hardened expert, his every move was designed to find the most optimal route to killing him.

He gritted his teeth, ' I can't keek this uo forever but this bastard doesn't seem to be under much strain.'

Ved was not as strong as the prince of bones in his base form, he had to use ignition to increase his strength.

Even so, he could barely match his opponent, his strongest power, dragon magic was no longer usable.

Ignition cannot be maintained indefinitely, he was already starting to feel a strain from using it.

The physical enhancement brought by the dragon law avatar had already reached its limit.

Still, for him to match a late state comprehension realm expert who's a divinity would be shocking should it spread.

But none of that mattered right now. He watched as the herald lunged at him, Ved responded with a claw.

His massive dragon claw shook the space around him, BOOOOOM, he clashed with the prince of bones.

His martial dao was pierced through and his iron scales failed to block the attack. A giant hole was pierced through his palm.

He gritted his teeth from the pain but instead of retreating he grabbed the javelin stopping the prince of bones from pulling it out.

Then he fired a beam of pitch black mist, the law of death and the law of destruction radiated off the mist like light rays m.

The prince's bone armour started corroding before the beam could touch him but dodging at such close range was impossible.

The beam of black death hit him like a flood and spread through space, the nearby planets turned into dust upon contact.

They corroded rapidly and crumbled like sand castles. The prince roared pushing some of the mist of black death away.

A giant bone sword appeared above them and descended upon Ved like a guillotine, a white net appeared above Ved.

For the first time in ages he used web secretion again but he hadn't upgraded it so it was weak.

Its power didn't reach that of rank 7 at all, the black bone sword cut through the net like hot knife through butter.

Ved still didn't dodge, dodging would cancel out the effort he had taken to land and attack with black death.

Ved understood he didn't have much in his arsenal to take down this guy, this was the best opportunity he would ever have and he wasn't wasting it.

His wings rose and pointed up, in his current death form, they were nothing but bones, incredibly strong bones.

The bony wings with tattered leader wings as cover slashed at the sword like blades. Void energy and the law of destruction clashed.

Beneath them were a flame of divinity and a void flames. The world seemed to stand still then a calamity followed.

A shockwave of destruction and void energy spread out with the collision point as the epicenter.

The shockwave collided with body them causing Ved to spit out a mountain of blood, a bone fragment fell off the prince's bone armour.

They flew through space faster than light, colliding with asteroids in their path but Ved did not let go.

On the contrary he used his other hand to grab the prince of bones preventing him from escaping.

His beam of black death fell relentlessly upon his enemy, his black armour crumbling piece by piece becoming more brittle by the second.

Ved had to admit, the durability of this prince's bone armour was higher than he had ever expected.

Even other divinities would not be able to handle his black death for so long without being corroded to dust.

Unless they had an ability that can counter his law of death and law of destruction which this guy didn't.

They clashed across space leaving nothing but destruction in their wake. Eventually he couldn't continue.

The prince had lost a large part of his chest and an arm, unfortunately Ved ran out of stamina and poison.

He tried to bite the prince to death but all that got him was a javelin through his jaw. The price retreated and watched him vigilantly.

Ved took a deep breath, he was starting to run out of breath, they had fought for an equivalent of three months none stop.

Both were exhausted by now, his ignition had long ran out, he was relying solely on the strength of his body.

And the fact that the prince was severely weakened by direct exposure to his black death for so long.

The prince moved, Ved got ready for another round by his enemy simply ran, space cracked and the prince jumped through returning to the void.

Ved was confused for a moment then he understood. " Shit."
