Chapter 444: Chapter 444: Mission Failed
The space around him started shaking and cracking, " Damnit, my mission." He flew as fast as he could towards the centre of the universe.
But the spatial cracks were expanding even faster, this universe was crumbling and merging with the void.
The singularity has been destroyed by something, ’ If I can get to it, maybe I can save this universe.’
Ved didn’t actually care about this universe or the denizens of this universe, he just didn’t want to fail his mission.
While Ved was flying with all of his might towards the centre of the universe, a beautiful woman appeared near his destination.
She looked at the singularity and shook her head, " There’s no saving this one." Elana sighed.
" That buy failed, my student never would’ve failed at this task." She sounded proud then teleported.
Ved who was flying with all of his suddenly found himself somewhere else instantly without any warning.
He was surrounded by thousands of planets and many people floating in space with the universe cracking around them.
He recognised his friends from earth but on the side of Naledi’s friends, the mood seemed somber.
Upon closer look, he noticed there was one person he couldn’t see, Ved was not an idiot, he figured out what happened.
He shook his head, there was nothing he could do for them and frankly, while he felt it was a pity, he wasn’t sad in the slightest.
Be barely knew the guy but he figured this would hurt Naledi and that wasn’t a pleasant feeling.
’ Manas, What’s happening, was the singularity destroyed?’ he asked, he hated that he failed.
" No that would be pointless, the point is to merge the universe with the void not destroy it but then again, merging with the void technically is destruction.
I think their purpose is corrupting the denizens turning them into fallen but it seems this lady reacted fast enough."
’ This lady?’ he asked then he noticed Naledi’s master standing in front of them waving her hands.
The space law danced around her, it was so dance it looked like a wave and the wave was swallowing the space around them.
" She’s trying to teleport every life planet into another universe, this won’t benefit the universe in the way merging singularities would.
But it will also prevent the void from getting new soldiers out of the denizens of this universe, either way, heaven isn’t losing out."
’ Damnit, if I hadn’t failed my mission, we could’ve merged the singularities and grew stronger instead of forcing her to do this.’
He thought to himself but Manas read his thoughts. " Don’t blame yourself, their plan was quite good.
They took advantage of your care for your friends to make you choose between the mission and them.
However this was a gamble in their part, if you were the type who cared not for bonds, they entire plan would’ve crumbled.
Unfortunately they read you right, this also means they’re learning. Void beings weren’t like this.
They viewed everything from their lens, this is bad and they also aren’t underestimating the heavens anymore.
Another bad news, them sending a prince after you is proof enough of that, then fighting by the rules to preserve their strength is proof of that.
They’re evolving, they’re adopting the best traits of heavens and merging them with their own nature.
They’re getting more and more dangerous, if this continues I’m afraid..." Manas finally stopped talking, she sounded shaken.
Ved was about to continue asking her more information when the space shook like there was an earthquake.
They all looked at one direction and there stood a figure glowing with blinding light with a blue crystal on their forehead.
It was a herald of hope at a sovereign level, next to him was a creature of absolute horror.
It looked like a mass of arms covered in red eyes oozing with a black like tar substance, a single glance at this thing soon his mind.
His law vessel bloomed on its own behind him. " Mental attack, it’s inducing fear in you, be careful, don’t worry much though, this is a passive thing."
Ved was able to resist this but a lot of people around him started screaming and before long somethings materialised around them.
" CLOSE YOUR EYES!" Elena shouted, the herald of terror was changing reality, bringing their fears into reality.
It wasn’t long before they all started feeling sleepy as well including Ved. ’ This feeling, this is definitely a herald of nightmares.’
The Nameless of Nightmares and the Nameless of Terror were usually confused with each other.
However Terror worked solely with fears of any kind, changing reality and bringing fears into reality.
Nightmares on the other hand was a scourge of the dream realm, he doesn’t change reality.
He directly attacks your soul killing you in your dreams, not to mention, unlike Terror, you don’t need to be scared.
It didn’t matter if you feared the nightmare or not, in fact he can even kill you in your happy dreams.
Ved was brought out of his thoughts by the roar of a dragon that echoed in his mind shaking it like a sledgehammer.
It was his law vessel, the dragon looked down on him like Gid gazing upon its subject.
Ved could’ve sworn he saw disdain in its eyes but that was impossible, how can his own image look at him with disdain.
’ Is it bigger!’ the dragon looked like it had grown larger somehow.
" Yes it’s bigger, this change was caused by you by the way, the more strength you gain the more prideful you get and the naturally, the stronger your dragon image get."
Ved still had many questions, his image was getting weirder and weirder, especially since it turned into a law avatar.
Instead of feeling more connected to him like it belonged to him, it felt like an external tool he used for convenience.
It was a strange feeling, unfortunately he didn’t have the time to dwell on it, he needed to do something here.
Before he could act, a blinding light appeared behind them, a spear of light shot towards the herald of terror piercing through its massive body leaving a gaping hole.
A Nephilim sovereign appeared behind them wielding light like a weapon of judgement.
His light pushed away the aura of Terror but brought another problem. He brought hope to everybody.
’ Should I put them to sleep?’ he wondered, if these people were unconscious, they’d be unable to express their hope.
But that would be sending them straight to the herald of nightmares and one who’s a sovereign.
There was no Ved would be able to save them. ’ Illusion is the only way.’ he needed to crush their hope.
He sent a will transmission to the strongest around them and they understood. As long as they had hope.
They would be the biggest weaknesses of the sovereigns, so they opened their minds and gave in to him.
