Chapter 102: 102: A GIFT.

June smiled. "Oh, I’m glad you asked. Sure, then. Forgive me for being blunt."

Mr. and Mrs. Faux kept their eyes fixed on him while Nyx stared as well, already feeling uneasy about what June was about to say.

June didn’t hesitate.

"To perform better at the academy, staying here doesn’t benefit your son in any way. So I’m here to officially take him to the academy, where he can stay in the dorms with the other students."

Silence lingered throughout the room.

Mr. Faux eventually cleared his throat with a smile. "Thanks for your consideration, but we have our reasons for keeping our son here with us. So you can forget about taking him to the dorms."

June smiled. He’d known they would never agree.

"Reasons? I wonder what those could be..." He sighed and nodded. "Well, too bad I’m not here to consider any reasons. Neither am I here to make arrangements with you."

His expression hardened.

"I’m here to inform you that I’ll be taking him with me."

Mr. and Mrs. Faux were speechless at his audacity, but they managed to keep their composure.

"You’re just a student," Mr. Faux said coldly. "His classmate and nothing more. I’d appreciate it if you stayed within your boundaries and stopped acting funny."

"Like I said, I’m not here to negotiate anything with you. I figured it would be respectful to inform you since you’re his parents, but I’ve already made my decision. It’s happening. Your opinions aren’t valid here."

For a moment, June didn’t feel like a student.

He felt thirty again.

And more importantly, he felt like Nyx’s guardian.

Mr. Faux’s expression darkened.

"I’ve given you the last bit of respect I can offer and shown you all the hospitality I’m willing to give. So please leave my home this instant before things get messy."

June raised an eyebrow.

"And what are you going to do if I don’t leave? Beat me too?"

"...."

Mr. and Mrs. Faux stiffened.

The reference was obvious, and they couldn’t help glancing toward Nyx.

Nyx immediately looked away, staring down at his clasped fingers as anxiety settled over him.

"What rubbish are you talking about?" Mrs. Faux demanded.

June smiled innocently.

"Nothing. I said nothing. What did you hear?"

Mr. Faux clenched his jaw before getting to his feet.

"You should leave now, or I’ll have security throw you out."

Almost immediately, several security men stormed into the room, surrounding June.

Mr. Faux glared at him.

"I don’t want to be rude..."

June remained seated, his legs crossed as he smiled up at him.

"You don’t want to play that game now, do you?"

Mr. Faux scoffed.

"You asked for it."

He turned toward the security. "Throw him out of my sight."

The security men moved toward June, about to take him down..

But June stared at the nearest security men and couted down. Five seconds.

June silently counted.

Then, in his mind, he muttered stop.

The security man came to an immediate halt.

June smiled. Take them down.

Without hesitation, the same security man turned around and attacked the others.

Within moments, they were all on the floor, leaving him as the only one standing.

Mr. and Mrs. Faux stood frozen, staring at the scene in complete shock.

They couldn’t comprehend what had just happened.

June turned toward them and tilted his head.

"They can come for you too, if you still want to play."

Mr. Faux staggered backward.

"You... What are you?"

June sighed as he rose to his feet.

"I hate playing uncivilized, so let’s have a more civilized conversation, shall we?"

"What do you want?" Mrs. Faux demanded, her voice trembling slightly.

June smiled.

"Hand him over to me. I’ll give you the opportunity to do that, and then everyone will be happy."

"You pathetic—what makes you think that’s going to happen?" Mr. Faux snapped. "He’s my son, and we decide what happens to him. Who do you think you are to tell us to hand him over? He’s staying here with us, and that’s final."

June folded his arms.

"I expected that."

He paused. "Which is why I prepared a gift for you." His eyes settled on Mr. Faux. "Care to hear it?"

Mr. Faux raised an eyebrow, wondering what June was planning now.

June casually stepped away, folding his arms as he strolled around the room.

"MilTan Enterprise is a company capable of saving your ass right now. I’m pretty sure we both know that."

His eyes met Mr. Faux’s.

The moment he mentioned the name, June saw the shock and fear flash across his face.

"How... how did you know that name?" Mr. Faux gasped.

June smiled.

"Me? Not really. My brother works for a very big company. You should know that. And since I was bored, I had him look into them and..."

He smiled.

"I found some interesting things."

Mr. Faux’s company was in trouble. It was on the brink of financial collapse, and he desperately needed the right connections to save it.

MilTan Enterprise was one of the most important connections he needed.

He was already close to finalizing a deal with them—one that could potentially save his company.

He couldn’t afford to lose it.

June continued casually.

"...And I guess my boredom also made me ask my brother to have them consider signing a deal with his big-ass company instead."

He smiled.

"They’re pretty happy to consider my brother’s company, you know?"

Mr. Faux’s face went pale. He knew exactly what June was implying.

If MilTan Enterprise chose June’s brother’s company instead, his own company would lose its last hope of recovering.

And at that moment, June didn’t need to explain anything further. Mr. Faux understood perfectly what June had done.

June had used Lucas to interfere with the deal he was about to finalize with MilTan Enterprise.

And that was the exact hook June intended to use to keep him in line.

June smiled while staring at him "Smart. You figured it out."
