Chapter 19: 19: WRONG DUNGEON

The hall first fell silent, and then murmurs gradually spread among the staff members and the VVIP spectators.

Everyone was shocked by the revelation, wondering how something like that could even be possible.

"How could that even happen?"

"Is this even supposed to happen? What kind of error is this?"

"How could they end up in a real dungeon instead of the simulated one? That doesn’t make any sense..."

"An F-Class Esper and Guide... can they even survive?"

Mr. Ethan panicked as his fingers flew across the keyboard, desperately trying to sort something out, but nothing he did was working.

"Go and get Mr. Ken right now," Mr. Ethan instructed.

The staff member immediately got to his feet and rushed out to find him, while Mr. Ethan remained seated, continuing to work frantically at the computer.

Soon, Mr. Ken arrived in his white lab coat and glasses. He looked more like a doctor than a researcher as he walked over and stood beside Mr. Ethan.

"What’s wrong? I heard there was a glitch..." he asked.

"Yes. A major glitch. I don’t even know how it’s possible..." Mr. Ethan looked at him grimly. "Our students are lost."

"How is that possible? I built this simulated dungeon myself, and it’s been used for years without a single error. What do you mean?"

Mr. Ethan stepped aside as Mr. Ken took the seat and immediately began working the keyboard, trying to understand exactly what had happened. The atmosphere in the room grew heavier as panic slowly spread. Most of the spectators had already shifted their attention toward the unfolding situation.

Mr. Ken adjusted his glasses with a sigh.

"How is this possible...?"

"What is it?" Mr. Ethan asked.

"They never entered the simulated dungeon at all. It’s as though they passed through the portal and were transported directly into another dungeon."

"Can you track them down?" Mr. Ethan asked urgently.

"I’m trying to do that right now..." Mr. Ken replied as he continued typing. "It’s difficult. The dungeon seems to be blocking every attempt to trace them. Every tracking signal is glitching out. I can’t get a stable connection at all."

Mr. Ethan frowned.

"But how is that even possible? Every dungeon in this era can be tracked and studied..." He suddenly paused.

"Unless..."

He slowly turned toward Mr. Ken, who had also stopped typing.

The two of them stared at each other.

"...Unless it’s one of those new strange dungeons opening up," Mr. Ethan said quietly.

Mr. Ken immediately shook his head.

"No... let’s not jump to that conclusion. It’s not possible. It can’t be."

He immediately returned to work.

Running every code he knew, he applied every bit of knowledge and experience he possessed. His eyes rapidly scanned the screen while his fingers flew across the keyboard, executing one command after another. He repeatedly attempted to locate the students’ signal and break through the dungeon’s interference, making meticulous efforts to force a connection.

In the end, every attempt failed.

However, one piece of information suddenly appeared on the screen.

Mr. Ken’s eyes widened.

"Oh dear..."

His face stiffened.

"This is bad."

"What’s wrong?" Mr. Ethan asked as the surrounding staff members—and even the VVIP guests—watched him anxiously.

Mr. Ken slowly looked at Mr. Ethan.

"I think we need to involve the school authorities." His expression grew increasingly grim. "The kids have slipped into one of those strange dungeons..."

He paused before swallowing.

"And it’s an S-Class dungeon at that."

---

"Ouch... my waist..."

June staggered to his feet while brushing the dust off his clothes.

"My phone..."

That was the very first thing that came to his mind. He immediately checked the phone still clutched in his hand.

His jaw dropped.

"The screen..."

He stared at it in disbelief.

"It’s a Samsung S27 Ultra that I just got..."

Nyx coughed as he slowly got to his feet as well, but the moment he regained his balance, his eyes swept across their surroundings.

"Where the hell are we..."

His expression instantly filled with shock and confusion as he stared at the scene before him. It looked nothing like any dungeon he had ever studied.

June also looked up.

His jaw nearly dropped.

The world before them wasn’t dark or ominous like the exterior they had entered through.

It was the complete opposite.

The entire place was as bright as daylight, looking more like something straight out of a fairy tale.

Fluffy white clouds floated unusually low across the sky while the warm sun shone gently between them. A rainbow stretched beautifully overhead as colorful birds happily flew through the bright, cheerful sky.

The land itself resembled a magnificent garden.

Flowers bloomed everywhere, surrounded by elegant trees and lush greenery that looked almost magical. Soft, evenly trimmed grass covered the ground, making the entire place look peaceful and picturesque. Butterflies fluttered lazily from flower to flower, occasionally landing on blossoms or tree branches.

June and Nyx simply stood there, staring in stunned silence.

"Are we already in heaven?" June asked in complete disbelief as he hurriedly patted himself all over. "Are we dead?"

He staggered backward dramatically.

"I can’t believe I died without going to Hawaii... or Japan... or Italy... My money is still sitting in my account! Who’s going to spend it?"

He immediately clasped both hands together in prayer.

"God, please give me another chance! I promise I’ll never step foot on the academy’s examination grounds again... no... I’ll never step foot inside the academy at all!"

"We’re not dead," Nyx replied calmly while adjusting his glasses and carefully observing their surroundings. "We’re in a dungeon."

"..."

June slowly opened one eye before looking around again.

"Are you sure...?"

Nyx didn’t answer immediately.

Instead, he reached into his backpack and pulled out one of his scanning devices, activating it as he surveyed the area.

"At least this can detect mana energy..." he muttered. "...And it’s picking up an incredibly strong concentration."

He slowly looked around again.

"But why does the dungeon look like this...?"

June glanced around before a smile gradually spread across his face.

"Maybe the universe took pity on me for editing all that yaoi and decided to reward me with the easiest dungeon ever." He folded his arms proudly. "I knew I was lucky."

Nyx ignored the comment and continued scanning the surroundings. His own mana was too weak to investigate directly, so he relied heavily on his equipment.

"You’re a Guide," Nyx said without looking away from the scanner. "Shouldn’t you be able to analyze these mana signatures much faster?"

"Don’t worry," June replied confidently. "I’m on it."

Nyx paused.

On it?

That was an incredibly rare sentence to hear from June.

He immediately turned around.

Only to find June crouching beside a patch of beautiful flowers.

"Get away from those."
