[BL] Oops! Guiding The F Class Villain Esper Gone Wrong!
Chapter 21: FURIOUS CAT.Chapter 21: 21: FURIOUS CAT.
The giant cat charged straight at them, claws extended and ready to tear them apart.
June and Nyx reacted instantly, diving in opposite directions.
June rolled across the ground before scrambling to his feet. Sitting up, he quickly adjusted his messy hair and let out a relieved sigh. "Phew... no cat in si—"
Before he could finish, he looked up.The cat was staring directly at him. Its teeth ground together as it crouched low, preparing to pounce.
June gasped. "Why me? What did I ever do to you?!"
Without another thought, he turned and bolted. His legs carried him through the overgrown garden as fast as they could, the enormous cat charging right behind him.
"My waist already hurts! I can’t even remember the last time I ran this much!"
He wasn’t even sure where he was going anymore. Anything was better than becoming cat food.
Behind him, Nyx slowly staggered to his feet.
His head throbbed, and his vision remained blurry from the earlier impact. As he watched the cat chase after June, his sight gradually cleared. Running a hand through his damp hair, he quickly looked around.
"The bag..."
His eyes landed on it lying a short distance away.
Nyx immediately sprinted over and dove for it, grabbing the bag before rummaging through its contents.
After a few frantic seconds, he pulled out a collapsible metal staff. It looked short enough to carry comfortably but could extend into a full-length weapon.
"This should be enough for a simulated cat..."
He nodded to himself before turning toward the beast still chasing June.
---
"Why is this stupid cat so persistent?!" June was already out of breath.
"I knew I should’ve taken those morning jogs seriously. I can literally feel my bones cracking!"
Desperate, he tried running in zigzags, hoping to confuse the cat or at least tire it out.
It didn’t work.
The beast followed every turn effortlessly, never slowing down.
June gasped between breaths.
"Just how much was the budget for this thing?! Is an entrance exam supposed to be this rea—"
"Ouch!"
His foot caught on a root.
He tumbled forward, rolling across the ground before finally coming to a painful stop.
The moment he landed on his backside, one thought immediately crossed his mind.
The quit button.
Every participant had been given an emergency button they could press to withdraw from the examination if they could no longer continue.
"I’ll lose a leg if this keeps up."
He hurriedly pulled the button from his pocket. Meanwhile, the cat continued charging toward him.
As it got closer, June suddenly thrust the button forward like it was some legendary weapon.
"Stop right there! I have a shiny button!"
The cat actually paused.
It simply stood there, staring at June... then at the tiny button in his hand, looking thoroughly confused.
June grinned triumphantly.
"I possess the power to end everything. One tap, and your entire world disappears! So sit down, you oversized furball!"
The cat didn’t sit. Instead, it tilted its head.
June nodded.
"Oh, you’re stubborn? Fine."
He sighed dramatically.
"My waist already hurts, and I forgot to put on sunscreen this morning too..."
Lifting one finger, he smiled confidently.
"Goodbye, you big, useless, good-for-nothing cat! You won’t be missed!"
He pressed the button and squeezed his eyes shut, fully expecting to reopen them back at the academy.
Sure, everyone would laugh at him for quitting.
But at least all his limbs would still be attached.
He couldn’t enjoy his dream vacation to Hawaii with broken bones.
That wouldn’t be a vacation. That would be a one way ticket to the hospital.
Besides, only he was quitting. Nyx could still finish the exam without him.
He waited.
Nothing happened.
Several awkward seconds passed in complete silence.
Even the cat looked more confused than aggressive.
Slowly, June opened one eye.
The cat was still standing there, staring at him.
He looked down at the button before pressing it again.
Nothing.
He pressed it a third time. Still nothing.
Then again and again and again.
His jaw slowly dropped. There was no portal. No magical light. Nothing
He was still sitting on the ground looking like the biggest loser alive while the increasingly irritated cat continued watching him.
June stared at the button in disbelief. "...You’ve got to be kidding me."
His face slowly twisted with horror. "Did they buy mine from Temu or something??" He could practically feel tears welling in his eyes.
Looking back up at the furious cat, he forced the brightest smile he could manage.
"Now... don’t mind everything I said earlier. You’re not a dumb cat at all." He laughed nervously. "You’re adorable. Handsome, even..."
The cat let out an angry shriek asJune’s smile instantly disappeared.
"...I guess it heard the first part."
The beast roared before launching itself toward him. Just as its claws were about to reach, Nyx slammed his extended staff into the cat’s side with everything he had.
The impact sent the enormous beast flying sideways before it crashed violently into a nearby tree.
The recoil threw Nyx off balance as well, sending him tumbling to the ground.
He immediately pushed himself back up and hurried over to June.
"Are you okay?" he asked between breaths. "Sorry I took so long... I couldn’t figure out how to extend the staff."
June immediately jumped to his feet, eyes sparkling.
"Have I ever told you how much I love you?"
Unfortunately, there wasn’t time for heartfelt appreciation.
The cat slowly stood back up.
A deep growl rumbled through the garden as its furious eyes locked onto both of them.
June blinked.
"...Wow."
He scratched his cheek.
"They really went all out on this cat’s budget."
Nyx stepped in front of him, gripping the staff tightly.
"Stay behind me." His voice remained calm. "I’ll protect you."
June stared at his back with a hand over his chest. So romantic.
Is this what those Disney princesses felt like when the knight in shining armor arrived?
Smiling to himself, he watched Nyx charge toward the monster.
Surely this was the part where the protagonist pulled off some miraculous victory, defeated the cat, and the two of them escaped the simulation together.
His hopeful smile lasted exactly three seconds.
The cat casually swatted Nyx aside with one massive paw and Nyx was sent flying across the garden before crashing hard into the ground.
June blinked. "Oh. That’s bad"
