[BL] Oops! Guiding The F Class Villain Esper Gone Wrong!
Chapter 29: NOT THAT BORED.Chapter 29: 29: NOT THAT BORED.
"Are we taking him back to the organization for research?" As they walked toward the car, one of the female Guides directed the question at Grey.
June immediately panicked. "What? What organization? What research?"
He kicked his legs in protest, but Grey held him firmly over his shoulder as though he weighed nothing.
"We’re not doing that," Grey replied casually.
When they reached the car, he finally set June down in the front passenger seat before closing the door behind him. He then turned toward the rest of his squad. "You all should head home. You’ve had a long day, and you’re probably exhausted."
With that, he climbed into the driver’s seat, started the engine, and drove away.
The remaining four members stood there quietly, watching the car disappear into the distance.
The first female Guide sighed. "So he really isn’t going to hand them over for research?" She glanced at the others. "Won’t the boss be furious if he finds out?"
The silver-haired Esper shook his head. "I doubt Grey would ever agree to that." He folded his arms thoughtfully. "It’s his younger brother. Besides, June is still only an F-Rank. Grey would never willingly expose him to endless examinations and experiments."
The other dark haired male Esper nodded in agreement. "That’s true." He sighed before continuing. "But whether Grey agrees or not doesn’t really matter. Something like this was bound to attract attention."
He shrugged. "Once the government learns that two first-year F-Ranks entered and cleared an S-Class anomaly dungeon, they’ll definitely get involved. And once that happens..." He looked toward the road where Grey had driven away. "...research becomes inevitable."
The second female Guide nodded with a quiet sigh. "Most definitely."
---
Silence filled the car as Grey drove them home. His hands rested steadily on the steering wheel while his eyes remained fixed on the road ahead. He didn’t say a word.
June was equally quiet. His mind was still trapped inside the dungeon, replaying every impossible event that had happened. How had every attempt to sabotage the Guiding sessions backfired so spectacularly? He had deliberately skipped practice.
He had acted lazy whenever possible. He had intentionally ruined their teamwork so they would have terrible compatibility during the examination. Everything had been planned to guarantee failure.
So how... How had Nyx suddenly awakened an incredible power after one accidental kiss? How had their constant slacking somehow become enough to help them survive a real dungeon?
And to make matters even worse... They hadn’t merely passed. They had ranked first.
June let out a long sigh. Of course, he was grateful they had survived. If Nyx hadn’t awakened that mysterious power, both of them would probably be dead. But that didn’t change the fact that everything else had gone horribly wrong.
"Brother." June finally broke the silence. "Can you help me drop out of the academy?"
Grey glanced at him briefly before returning his attention to the road. "What? You just got accepted, and now you want to quit? I thought getting into Arcadia Academy was your dream."
June rolled his eyes. "Forget I asked." He already knew Grey wouldn’t help.
After a brief pause, he turned toward him again. "And don’t tell me you’re planning to send me to some crazy laboratory for experiments."
Grey gave a quiet scoff. "I’m not that bored." He continued driving as though the subject barely interested him. "If anyone should be worried, it should be your friend."
June blinked. "Huh?"
"He’s the Esper." Grey’s tone remained calm. "He’s the one who displayed extraordinary power. If anyone becomes the focus of research, it’ll be him before it ever becomes you."
"Oh..." June leaned back into his seat. That was... strangely reassuring.
Grey spoke again after a moment. "And you. Since when were you capable of entering anomaly dungeons? Or any dungeon, for that matter?"
June folded his arms. "How am I supposed to know?"
Grey remained silent for a few seconds before replying. "If there’s something you’re hiding, tell me." His voice stayed calm. "After today, people are going to start paying attention to you. If I know what’s happening, I’ll know how to protect you when the time comes."
June snorted. "Protect me?" He looked out the window. "Please. You’d probably have been happier if I never came back from that dungeon."
Grey didn’t even look at him. "I’m not that jobless." His answer came so casually that June almost choked.
After another stretch of silence, June sighed. "I really don’t know anything. I’m just as confused as everyone else."
Grey nodded slightly. "I figured."
A few moments later, he added, "Still... You should stay away from that boy."
June frowned. "Nyx?"
"He doesn’t feel like good news."
June rested his chin against the window. "As if I don’t want to." He muttered the words so quietly that they almost disappeared beneath the sound of the engine.
And while they headed back, June couldn’t help but think about the anomaly dungeons. He had heard about them sprinkled across the comic.
Strange dungeons appearing with unusual behaviors. He had read them in the work, but they still weren’t explained in the current Chapters of the work.
There were hints of what they could be; government created dungeons most likely. June had casually asked the author a certain time what they were and why the work needed them.
But the author had casually replied "They seemed cool. Will figure out as I write on"
June was speechless. The author really didn’t work with outlines. Because there were plot holes in the original comic. But oh well, it was still strangely a hit.
And now, even though June wasn’t really interested in getting involved with the plot enough to want to know what these dungeons really were, he guessed it’d be inevitable.
Because for some strange reasons, he and Nyx, F-ranks, could get in there and strangely survive while clearing it without ease...
---
Before evening arrived, the story had already exploded across the internet. Every major news outlet was reporting it. Discussion forums were flooded with debates, conspiracy theories, and endless speculation. The incident had become the hottest trending topic of the day.
The moment June got home, he locked himself inside his room. He was still mourning the complete destruction of his perfect plan and had absolutely no desire to see another human being.
Now he sat on his bed with a family-sized bag of chips beside him while scrolling through the headlines on his tablet. He had wanted to stay away from social media altogether. Unfortunately... That proved impossible.
[TRENDING: S-CLASS ANOMALY DUNGEON APPEARS DURING ARCADIA ACADEMY’S ENTRANCE EXAM! TWO F-RANK NOBODIES CLEAR IT?!]
June stared at the headline before rolling his eyes. "’Nobodies?’" He clicked his tongue. "What a ridiculous title. Did they really need clickbait that badly?"
He scrolled into the comments. A handful of people seemed genuinely impressed. Most weren’t buying it.
[This is obviously fake.]
[Rich people can buy anything these days. They probably staged the whole thing just to get their spoiled prince into the academy.]
[Real headline: Talentless F-Rank rich brat fakes a dungeon so he can sneak into an academy he doesn’t deserve.]
[I know who June is. He’s a spoiled rich psycho. Of course he’d fake something like this.]
[F-Ranks clearing an anomaly dungeon? At least make your lies believable.]
June stared blankly at the endless stream of comments as more continued pouring in every second.
