[BL] Oops! Guiding The F Class Villain Esper Gone Wrong!
Chapter 30: WHY NOT?!Chapter 30: 30: WHY NOT?!
"Are these people obsessed with me or something?" June scoffed as he continued scrolling through the comments. "Why is everything about me?"
He rolled his eyes dramatically.
"I faked it? I paid for it?" He pointed at the screen in disbelief. "And why the hell would I pay to almost die?"
With an annoyed huff, he tossed the tablet onto his bed.
"Dumb netizens. They’re probably a bunch of unawakened losers with nothing better to do than sit around arguing on their phones all day."
He dramatically ran a hand through his hair before letting out an exaggerated sigh.
"It’s so hard being a celebrity these days..."
Just then, a knock sounded on his bedroom door.
"What?"
"Come out already!" his mother’s voice called from outside. "You’ve been hiding in there for hours."
"I don’t feel like it!" June shouted back. "I’m drowning in my sorrows! Leave me alone to be depressed in peace!"
His father’s voice immediately followed. "Who drowns in depression with three bags of chips?"
June slowly looked down at the empty snack bags scattered across his floor.
"..."
"I choose what I drown in! Leave me alone!"
"If you don’t come out right now," Mr. En warned, "I’ll block all your bank cards."
June gasped. "You can’t do that! I haven’t even bought the latest designer collection yet!"
"Fine then." Mr. En’s voice remained calm. "If you won’t come out... I’ll do it."
Only a few seconds later, the bedroom door flew open.
June stood there wearing blue pajamas, his expression filled with suspicion. "...What?"
Before he could finish speaking, Mrs. En grabbed his wrist. "Come with us."
"H-Hey!" June tried pulling back. "What are you doing?"
Neither of his parents answered. His father simply joined in, and together they dragged him downstairs.
"This is illegal!" June protested as they pulled him along. "Let me go! I’m reporting both of you!"
A few moments later... June found himself sitting at the dining table.
A large decorated cake rested in front of him.
Before he could react, Mr. En placed a party hat on his head. It read:
Congratulations!
June blinked. The dining room had been decorated for a small celebration, and the cake itself read:
Congratulations on Entering Arcadia Academy!
He stared blankly at it. "...What’s all this?"
He looked from his parents to Grey, who was already seated opposite him, calmly eating dinner as though none of this concerned him.
"Don’t ask me," Grey replied without looking up from his food.
"We’re celebrating you, of course!" Mr. En said proudly. "Our little one has finally become usefu—" Mrs. En immediately elbowed him. He let out a small cough.
She shot him a warning glare before turning back toward June with a warm smile. "What your father meant... is that our little boy has finally grown up."
She beamed. "You even cleared your first dungeon. What was it called again?"
"An anomaly dungeon, I think," Mr. En answered.
Neither of June’s parents had awakened abilities themselves, so they only knew what they had read in the news.
Mr. En smiled proudly. "That’s right! Congratulations on clearing an anomaly dungeon, ranking first in the entrance examination, and getting accepted into Arcadia Academy. We’re incredibly proud of you. So we wanted to celebrate in our own little way."
June quietly removed the party hat. "...You really didn’t have to do all this."
Mrs. En smiled gently. "Don’t worry about us. Just enjoy today."
June remained expressionless. "No... I really mean it. You didn’t have to."
An awkward silence followed.
Grey casually took another bite before speaking. "You finally got into your dream academy. Aren’t you supposed to be happy?"
June shot him a flat look before turning back to his parents. "...Honestly. I don’t want this."
His parents looked confused.
"You don’t have to be so modest," Mr. En laughed. "We all saw the news. Even as an F-Rank, you managed to survive and clear an S-Class anomaly dungeon."
Mrs. En nodded enthusiastically. "I was honestly terrified when I first read it. Everyone says anomaly dungeons are incredibly dangerous. But according to the experts online, the fact that you survived means our little boy must have some extraordinary talent." She smiled proudly. "I always knew you were special."
Mr. En laughed. "To be honest... I never thought you’d actually get into Arcadia Academy."
June stared at him silently.
"But now?" Mr. En grinned. "I’ve got complete faith in you. I’m proud of you, son."
June closed his eyes for a moment before opening them again. "...Please don’t be." He leaned forward across the table. "I’m serious. I don’t want to attend the academy anymore. So... can I withdraw?"
The room instantly fell silent. Mrs. En blinked. Mr. En blinked. Even Grey finally looked up from his dinner. The three of them exchanged glances before staring back at June.
"...You’re joking, right?" Mrs. En asked carefully.
"What are you talking about?" Mr. En frowned.
"I’m not joking." June shook his head. "I’m serious. I don’t want to go to Arcadia Academy."
He couldn’t possibly explain the real reason. Entering that academy only pushed him closer to the original storyline. Closer to every disaster waiting ahead. Closer... to his own death.
He wanted absolutely nothing to do with that plot anymore. He wanted to stay as far away from it as humanly possible.
His parents exchanged another confused glance.
Mr. En finally scratched his head awkwardly. "...That might be difficult."
June frowned. "Why?"
"Well..." Mr. En smiled sheepishly. "We were so happy about your results that we... might have made a few announcements."
June narrowed his eyes. "...What kind of announcements?"
"We bought promotional trends online." Mr. En smiled proudly. "We wanted everyone to know our son ranked first and cleared an anomaly dungeon."
June froze. "...What?"
Mrs. En nodded happily. "We were just so excited. I even forwarded every news article to all my relatives, old classmates, friends... pretty much everyone I’ve ever known."
June slowly turned toward his father.
Mr. En scratched the back of his head with a grin. "...I may have done the same. I sent it to all my business partners and industry contacts."
June suddenly felt his legs go weak. "...Please tell me that’s all."
Mr. En’s smile somehow became even brighter. "Oh! And the best part! We’ve already organized a grand celebration for this weekend!" He proudly counted on his fingers. "We invited ambassadors, business leaders, elite families, top Espers and Guides, government officials, your academy’s administration..." He paused dramatically. "Oh, and of course... that nice boy who cleared the dungeon with you. Nyx Faux."
June’s vision blurred. His mouth slowly fell open. "...What?"
His parents smiled proudly.
"Everything has already been arranged," Mrs. En said happily. "We can’t cancel now. We have our reputation to maintain."
June slowly turned toward Grey.
For the first time that evening... Grey looked just as stunned as he was.
Their eyes met as Grey simply shrugged. "...Well. Congratulations, I guess."
