[BL] Oops! Guiding The F Class Villain Esper Gone Wrong!
Chapter 41: FLEE.Chapter 41: 41: FLEE.
"I’ll try standing on my own feet," June suggested.
Nyx nodded, snapping back to reality as he watched June carefully step off his shoes.
"Like this...?" June asked, taking slow, careful steps while Nyx guided him through the rhythm.
"Yes... just like that."
Nyx watched with quiet satisfaction as June smiled after getting the steps right. Little by little, he found the rhythm, moving to the gentle melody drifting through the ballroom while holding Nyx’s hand with one hand and resting the other on his shoulder.
"I’m getting it... I’m actually getting it..." June said excitedly, staring down at his feet as they continued dancing.
The two moved gracefully across the center of the ballroom, their steps becoming more synchronized with every passing moment. Before long, they had begun drawing the attention of the surrounding guests.
People paused in the middle of their conversations to watch them, quietly admiring how naturally they danced together. Even though June was still inexperienced, there was an undeniable chemistry between the two that made the performance surprisingly captivating.
While June remained focused on his feet so he wouldn’t miss another step, Nyx never took his eyes off him.
His thoughts drifted back to the dungeon. The overwhelming power.. the golden flames...The kiss...
Everything replayed vividly in his mind until one question kept echoing louder than the rest.
Could June really be the answer?
Before he realized it, the words had already left his mouth. "Can I kiss you?"
June’s eyes widened.
The unexpected question startled him so badly that he nearly stepped on Nyx’s foot and lost his balance.
Fortunately, Nyx reacted immediately, tightening his arm around June’s waist and pulling him safely against him before he could fall.
Their faces ended up inches apart.
"Eh...?" June blinked.
Nyx froze.
Only then did he realize what he had actually said. His ears turned red as he hurriedly corrected himself.
"I-I mean... I want you to be my partner at the academy. My guide..." His voice became quieter. "I want us to stay together."
June simply stared at him.
Nyx continued before he lost his courage.
"Earlier... you told Simon you were my guide, right? So... can I assume we’ll continue being partners after we enter the academy?"
June’s brain instantly short-circuited. The one person he absolutely wanted to avoid getting close to was asking to stay by his side.
The original novel was practically screaming at him to accept. That was exactly why he couldn’t.
When June didn’t answer, Nyx lowered his eyes slightly.
"You don’t have to worry," he said softly. "I won’t hold you back. I won’t become a burden..."
"No."
The answer came out much faster than June intended.
He instinctively placed a hand over his chest and slowly took a step backward, panic written all over his face.
Nyx looked confused.
"Huh...?"
"I... my cat died."
"...Eh?"
June’s own brain seemed to crash. "No—that’s not what I meant."
He looked around desperately, searching for literally any excuse.
"I forgot to water my flowers before coming, so... I have to go back now."
The moment the words left his mouth, he turned around and walked away as quickly as his dignity allowed.
The couples around them continued dancing peacefully to the soft piano melody, paying little attention to the pair anymore. June, however, made his escape from the ballroom like Cinderella fleeing before midnight.
Nyx remained standing alone in the middle of the dance floor, dressed impeccably in his elegant black suit as he watched June disappear into the crowd.
A worried expression slowly settled across his face.
Did he say something wrong?
He ran a hand through his hair and bit his lower lip in frustration.
He had practiced this conversation for hours.
Ever since receiving the invitation to tonight’s celebration, he had spent countless hours pacing around his bedroom, rehearsing how he would politely ask June to become his guide and academy partner.
He had even written down different versions of what he wanted to say before practicing them until he eventually fell asleep.
Yet when the real moment came, he somehow asked if he could kiss him instead.
Nyx quietly cursed himself.
Now he was convinced he had frightened June away.
Meanwhile, June hurried past his parents, who immediately turned after noticing him.
"June!" Mrs. En called.
But he was already halfway toward the exit.
"What’s wrong with him?" Mr. En asked, completely confused.
Lucas gave a quiet scoff. "Did he get rejected again?"
"Don’t say that about your brother," Mrs. En scolded, lightly hitting his arm as the family watched June disappear from the venue with Raymond hurrying after him.

TWO WEEKS LATER
The academy had officially finalized its intake.
Fifty outstanding students had been admitted into Arcadia Academy, consisting of thirty Espers and twenty Guides. Both June and Nyx were among those selected.
A week later, the new academic session officially began.
Students started arriving on campus almost immediately.
Everyone has reported except June.
Hostel assignments had already been distributed, class schedules finalized, and the first two days were dedicated entirely to orientation.
All newly admitted students gathered inside the grand assembly hall, where they were formally welcomed by the Chancellor, the Principal, and the academy’s senior staff. One after another, they introduced the academy’s long and distinguished history before explaining its central philosophy:
To train the very best.
The orientation continued with detailed explanations of the academy’s rules, expectations, disciplinary policies, and everything students needed to know before beginning classes.
Afterward, they introduced the major academic and administrative staff the students would interact with throughout their years at the academy.
Mr. Drax was introduced as the Dean of Esper Studies, while Miss Lizzy headed the Department of Guide Studies. Mr. Ken served as the Dean of Arcane Research and supervised laboratories, magical studies, and experimental projects.
Mr. Ethan oversaw all examinations and academic evaluations, while Mr. Yen, the Dean of Student Affairs, would be the primary point of contact for student welfare and campus-related concerns.
The administration also explained that although these were the principal deans responsible for each division, numerous deputy deans, professors, and faculty members were always available to assist students whenever necessary.
Once the introductions were complete and the academy’s structure, regulations, and expectations had been thoroughly explained, the orientation concluded.
The following day was dedicated to a guided campus tour, allowing the new students to familiarize themselves with the academy’s buildings, facilities, training grounds, classrooms, dormitories, and other important locations before regular classes officially began.
