Chapter 56: 56: RESULT.

All eyes fell on the display as the numbers rolled out right before them.

Silence filled the atmosphere as everyone stared at the result in disbelief. For a while, nobody spoke. They simply looked at the numbers displayed before them, trying to understand what they were seeing.

They couldn’t believe such a result was even possible. But it was right there in front of their eyes.

The moment June saw it, his expression immediately broke into dramatic tears.

"Thank you, Jesus..." he muttered joyfully while staring at the large display.

[00%]

He had no words to describe the happiness rushing through his veins. He couldn’t believe he was actually celebrating a zero. He had never been this happy about failing in his entire life.

His source had worked perfectly. Not only had he avoided getting any compatibility percentage, but he had somehow gained an extra zero to top it all.

Soon, the atmosphere erupted with laughter and whispers. Nobody could believe that someone had achieved the lowest compatibility score ever recorded.

They didn’t even think it was possible to reach such a terrible level.

"This is hilarious! I was expecting something like 30%, but they actually got zero? That means there’s absolutely nothing between them!"

"How can their compatibility be that bad? That’s just ridiculous!"

"They were so incompatible that they even got an extra zero!"

"I knew they were terrible! This proves their previous result was fake and fabricated. These two are actual failures!"

"Now everyone can see the truth. They can’t fake their compatibility anymore. They’re just useless!"

"What a joke!"

While the students laughed and mocked them, the authorities remained quiet. They exchanged low discussions among themselves, clearly confused by the result.

Mr. Ken, on the other hand, was already checking the machine. He wanted to confirm whether there was some kind of error because he wasn’t sure a 0% compatibility result was even possible.

The lowest compatibility he had ever seen was 5%, and in extremely rare cases, 1%. A complete zero was something completely new to him.

Yet, after checking the system, he could only stare at the machine silently.

Nyx stood there without saying a word. His eyes remained fixed on the portal, almost as if he was waiting for it to reveal another result.

As if there was still a chance that the number could change.

Nyx was rather disappointed.

He wasn’t upset because he had failed. He was upset because his compatibility with June had failed.

He wanted it to be June. He only wanted it to be him.

Even if their compatibility had been 20% or 50%, he would have accepted it because at least there would have been hope. Hope that they could slowly build their bond and increase their compatibility.

But now, even that possibility had disappeared.

Meanwhile, June was celebrating his small victory.

He was overjoyed that the result meant he wouldn’t have to be paired with the villain any further. He had finally taken a step toward escaping his doomed fate, and that alone was enough of a victory.

With a bright smile, he pulled out his phone and began searching for the next restaurant where he could celebrate his freedom with a grand meal.

He even updated his status.

"Life feels so good."

He shook his head proudly. "This is what happens when you make the right purchases in life. Freedom!"

He happily posted.

[FREEDOM AT LAST]

"Hashtag freedom. Hashtag escaping the villain was successful. Hashtag cannon fodder’s smart survival tip. Hashtag..."

While June continued typing away happily, Mr. Ken continued examining the machine.

Then, he noticed a small button.

He stared at it for a moment before scratching his head.

"This.. how did i not remember" he muttered as he pressed it.

Immediately, the holographic display changed.

The 00% result wasn’t actually the correct number. It had been caused by a system error.

The machine’s current resolution could only display two digits, and he had forgotten to update it to support three-digit numbers.

After adjusting the settings, the true result finally appeared.

[100%]

[A HUNDRED PERCENT COMPATIBILITY PERCENTAGE!]

"..."

The entire area fell silent.

Everyone froze as they stared at the display, completely speechless.

"Oh... it was an error. Fixed..." Mr. Ken explained casually.

But instead of calming down, the crowd only became more shocked.

"A what...?"

"Am I seeing things?"

"Wait... that’s..."

"A HUNDRED PERCENT COMPATIBILITY PERCENTAGE?!"

"How is that even possible?!"

June was still happily typing his hashtags when the sudden change in reactions caught his attention.

He looked up while still muttering under his breath.

"Hashtag unpaired... hashtag... what the actual fu—"

His words stopped immediately. His jaw dropped as he stared at the display.

The 00% he had celebrated moments ago had changed. It wasn’t zero anymore. It was the complete opposite.

100%.

His compatibility with Nyx wasn’t nonexistent. It was perfect.

June gasped as tears formed in his eyes. He dropped onto the floor, his phone slipping from his hand.

"What... what is all this...?"

He stared blankly at the result before placing a hand over his chest.

"That pill... was I scammed? Is this the equivalent to temu from this world? Because how is this even possible?"

He looked toward the sky in disbelief. "What did I do to you, Mr. Author?!"

While everyone was still processing the shocking compatibility result, the atmosphere suddenly changed.

A blue portal appeared.

It wasn’t the normal portal from the evaluation entrance.

This was a massive dimensional portal that opened in the middle of the academy grounds, releasing a powerful force that immediately began pulling everything toward it.

Everyone gasped in horror.

Nobody needed an explanation to understand that something was wrong.

Students began running for cover as objects around them were dragged toward the portal and swallowed by its overwhelming force.

Mr. Ken immediately sensed the energy coming from the portal. The moment he detected its radiation, his expression changed.

He knew exactly what it was.

"Everyone, run!" he shouted, his voice echoed throughout the area.

"It’s an anomaly dungeon!"
