Chapter 57: 57: SUMMONED

The chaotic storm released from the portal tore through the atmosphere, violently sweeping everything around it in every direction.

The students and authorities immediately began running for their lives, struggling against the powerful force pulling them toward the portal while searching for the safest escape route.

Nyx reacted instantly. He stretched out his hand and grabbed onto June, holding him firmly while fighting against the overwhelming energy trying to drag them away.

As the students fled, the weaker ranks struggled the most. The F ranks especially found it difficult to resist the powerful force of the anomaly dungeon.

Finn was one of those affected. The energy pulled him toward the portal with increasing strength, but Simon held onto him tightly, refusing to let him be taken away.

Meanwhile, Ryan desperately grabbed onto the railing beside him, hoping to hold himself in place. But as students rushed past, someone accidentally crashed into him, causing his grip to loosen.

The moment his hands slipped, the portal’s energy pulled him away.

"Ah!"

Ryan was dragged into the air, flying helplessly toward the portal. While being pulled away, he crashed into Simon from behind, causing him to lose his balance. In an instant, Simon, Ryan, and Finn were all swept toward the portal together.

Mr Ken immediately rushed forward, trying to grab Finn and save his student before it was too late. However, the powerful force from the anomaly dungeon caught him off guard and pulled him off his feet as well.

"Ryan!"

June didn’t hesitate. The only thing he saw was Ryan being dragged toward the portal. He stretched out his hand, trying to reach him.

But before he could do anything, the energy forcefully pulled Nyx off his feet as well. The two of them were swallowed by the portal in an instant.

And just like that, the six figures disappeared. The massive portal closed immediately afterward, leaving behind only silence. The chaotic storm vanished, and everything returned to normal as though nothing had happened.

The remaining students and authorities slowly stood up from where they had fallen, adjusting themselves while staring at the empty space where the portal had appeared.

"What the hell just happened...?" one student asked in disbelief.

"A dungeon just kidnapped people..." another replied, still frozen in shock.

RED DUST HEADQUARTERS.

Grey En was inside the training room, practicing with his sword while testing the latest technology upgrade installed into his weapon.

After several movements, someone knocked on the door, forcing him to stop. Sweat covered his red training clothes as he removed the VR goggles from his eyes and took a moment to catch his breath.

His damp hair clung slightly to his face as he turned toward the person standing at the entrance.

It was Alia, one of the Guides assigned to his squad. The brown-haired woman smiled casually. "The boss is looking for you."

Grey nodded while still panting softly. He removed his goggles and placed his sword aside before stepping out in his training clothes.

Alia glanced at him and shook his head. "You’re seriously not going to take a shower first?" she asked.

Grey smiled lightly. "No need. I’ll probably return to training later anyway. Besides, I’m meeting the boss, not some important guest. You don’t need to worry about formalities."

Alia folded her arms while looking at him. "Taking advantage of your relationship with the boss, I see."

"And who said we’re close?"

"Everyone knows."

"What exactly do they know?"

She smiled. "Enough to start a rumor."

Grey only shook his head. "Boring."

The two soon arrived at the office door. Alia stopped and looked at him. "Go in. And try not to be too annoying. The boss didn’t seem like he was in a good mood."

Grey gave a small smile. "He’s never in a good mood."

With that, he opened the door and stepped inside.

---

The atmosphere inside the office was not only cold. The person waiting inside greeted Grey with an even colder gaze.

Grey stood in the dimly lit room, his eyes moving toward the figure standing beside the window, looking outside as though there was something interesting waiting beyond the glass.

"You know, you should open the curtains more often. A little sunlight wouldn’t hurt," Grey casually teased.

The figure turned toward him. His gaze was cold. So cold that the temperature inside the room felt insignificant compared to it. Silver eyes studied Grey silently before he finally walked toward his desk.

Grey watched him carefully. The person before him looked younger than his actual age. Despite being in his early thirties, his appearance made him seem like someone in his early twenties.

He had delicate features, elegant silver eyes, and long silver hair that matched his white clothing. His appearance was almost unreal, like a prince from a painting.

As he sat down at his desk, he opened the curtains halfway, allowing some light into the room. His slender fingers moved through the documents before him without saying a word.

Grey forced a smile. "So... how are you feeling today? Have you eaten? There’s a new restaurant nearby. Maybe after work we could go check it out..."

Before he could finish, the man looked up. His cold gaze met Grey’s, instantly silencing him. The room fell quiet again.

Grey sighed and ran a hand through his hair before finally asking, "You asked to see me, so I was wondering what happened. Is there some kind of update?"

The man hesitated, his fingers moving through the documents before him. Finally, he spoke. "I heard what happened while I was away."

His eyes lifted and settled on Grey. "Why didn’t you inform me immediately?"

Grey raised an eyebrow. "What happened?"

The man paused before answering. "The anomaly dungeon. F ranks clearing an anomaly dungeon..."

A deep sigh escaped him as though he was holding back his frustration. "I can’t believe I had to hear about it from him."

His gaze sharpened. "Why didn’t you tell me about it?"
