[BL] Oops! Guiding The F Class Villain Esper Gone Wrong!
Chapter 67: IN HIS MIND IChapter 67: 67: IN HIS MIND I
Amidst the growing storm in the sky, everyone turned their attention upward.
Their eyes were fixed on Nyx, who was now staggering through the air. He held both hands against his head, struggling to remain conscious and keep himself sane.
The pain he was experiencing was obvious even from the ground as he fought desperately against the energy surging through his body.
"What’s wrong with him?" Ryan shouted over the howling wind.
Mr. Ken frowned as he tried to sense the situation.
"I don’t..." He paused, clearly unable to read through the strange atmosphere surrounding them.
But June didn’t need to read the atmosphere. The energy flowing through their connection was already enough to tell him that something was seriously wrong with Nyx.
He could feel his distress and instability, and more than anything, June felt an overwhelming need to get closer and help him.
"I need to get up there."
June tried to move forward, but Ryan immediately grabbed him.
"It’s not safe. Are you sure about this?"
June looked at him and smiled.
"Don’t worry. I can do this."
Ryan had nothing else to say. June was the one who had triggered this strange energy in the first place, so perhaps he really did have something to do with Nyx’s current condition.
Without asking any more questions, Ryan released him.
June took several steps forward before suddenly leaping into the air.
The moment he left the ground, June felt as though an invisible force had grabbed onto him. It was almost like being pulled toward a powerful magnet, drawing him directly toward Nyx.
June stretched out his hand and caught Nyx’s.
A violent gust of wind immediately swept between them, trying to tear them apart, but June refused to let go.
He held Nyx’s hand firmly and pulled him closer until Nyx fell directly into his arms.
June wrapped both arms around him.
He didn’t know exactly what he was doing. He simply felt that this was what he needed to do, so he held Nyx tightly despite the growing chaos surrounding them.
Nyx instinctively leaned into his embrace. He allowed himself to sink into the warmth of those arms, slowly closing his eyes as the chaos inside his mind began to settle.
"It’s okay... I’m here."
The deafening noises inside Nyx’s head gradually began fading.
He had used an enormous amount of energy during the battle, and now his body was struggling to stabilize it.
The excessive energy had begun affecting his mind as well, leaving him feeling as though he were slowly losing control of himself.
For a moment, Nyx genuinely felt as though he was going insane.
But June continued holding him.
"It’s okay," June repeated softly. "Nothing’s going to hurt you."
They remained like that for a while, both with their eyes closed as they found comfort in each other’s embrace.
Golden flames continued hovering around them, slowly breaking apart into sparkling golden particles that drifted through the air.
From below, Ryan and the others watched the strange phenomenon unfold.
"What’s that?" Ryan asked, staring as the golden particles began gathering around the two figures. "Why are they..."
Before he could finish, the sparkling particles completely surrounded June and Nyx, forming a glowing golden sphere around them.
The two of them disappeared from sight.
---
June kept his eyes closed, still holding Nyx tightly.
But when he finally opened them, Nyx was nowhere to be seen.
"Nyx?"
June looked around in confusion, only to realize that the scenery surrounding him had completely changed.
He was standing inside some kind of strange dimension.
It looked almost like outer space, except the darkness around him was filled with countless golden particles that drifted through the air like stars.
"Where is this?"
June looked down at his feet and became even more confused.
There was no solid ground beneath him. He appeared to be standing directly on a vast expanse of black space, with golden dust floating endlessly around him.
"How did I get here? Where even is this?"
Before June could think of another question, a yellow screen suddenly appeared before him.

[Bonding Successful.]
[Congratulations! You’ve successfully bonded with the host of the Golden Flames.]
[You’ve successfully bonded with Nyx Faux.]
June blinked at the screen.
"Huh? What’s all this now?"
[Given your compatibility and established connection, you have been chosen as the Guide for the host of the Golden Flames.]
[You now have access to the host’s mental space. You are currently inside Nyx Faux’s mind and memories.]
June stared at the message for several seconds.
"This is... his mind?"
[Yes.]
"And why exactly am I here?"
[To guide the host more effectively, you must first understand him. You have therefore been granted access to the host’s memories.]
June didn’t quite know how to feel about that.
He had started this whole situation trying to survive the villain and avoid getting involved with him.
Somehow, he had now ended up bonded to Nyx as his personal Guide and had been invited directly into his mind.
Well, that was certainly an interesting turn of events.
June didn’t complain, however. Instead, he looked toward the large portal slowly opening before him.
[Keep your eyes on the portal to view the host’s memories.]
June followed the instruction and stared into the portal.
Scenes immediately began appearing within it, almost like watching a television show.
Different moments from Nyx’s life played one after another, revealing pieces of his past and gradually forming the story of the villain June had known only from the pages of the comic.
The story of Nyx.
---
Nyx’s story was a complicated one, beginning with the family he had been born into.
He had been unfortunate enough to grow up with parents who were obsessed with power and status.
His family wasn’t part of the true elite, but his parents desperately wanted to climb into that world and were willing to do almost anything to achieve it, even if it came at the expense of their own children.
Children, because Nyx wasn’t an only child.
He had an older brother named Nil, who was several years older than him. Unfortunately, Nyx lost him while he was still in middle school.
Nil had been an S-Rank Esper, one of the country’s most powerful young Espers at the time.
He had stood at the peak of his career, clearing dungeons with remarkable ease while receiving awards, government recognition, and widespread attention.
To Nyx’s parents, Nil was their greatest achievement.
He was the sole source of their pride and the person they believed would eventually elevate the entire family into the elite class.
But that pride would soon take a very different turn.
