[BL] Oops! Guiding The F Class Villain Esper Gone Wrong!
Chapter 93: PETTY PRATICEChapter 93: 93: PETTY PRATICE
By the time June and Ryan arrived at the scene, they were surprised to find a crowd of students already gathered.
They had been brought to the practice arena, where the Elite 5 were waiting for them. It was a massive circular arena specifically designed for academy competitions, public demonstrations, ranking battles, and practical examinations.
However, the arena was reserved for seniors. Only final-year students had access to it, which meant most of the students gathering to witness the scene were seniors.
As June and Ryan approached, they could see the smug expressions on many of their faces. Some whispered among themselves, while others openly laughed and discussed them.
June ignored them and looked ahead.
Then he noticed Nyx already standing there.
"What are you doing here?" June asked as he approached him.
"I guess we were summoned for practice," Nyx replied.
June didn’t need to explain what had happened. Even during their last discussion at the welcome party, Nyx had already known that the academy intended to have them fight against the Elite 5 in about a week.
Nyx didn’t seem bothered by it.
"Practice, my foot..." June muttered as he looked toward the elevated stage.
The Elite 5 were already standing there, staring down at them.
"It’s obvious why they summoned us."
"They were clearly pissed off by what you said the other day," Ryan observed. "Now they want to publicly kick your ass as payback. Pathetic. Classic."
The three of them stared upward at the Elite 5.
"Should we just back out?" Ryan asked. "Maybe if we apologize, it’ll be okay."
"I’m not apologizing to those assholes." June scoffed. "I don’t even regret a single word I said to them."
"..."
Ryan swallowed.
"Typical June."
"And what’s with the wait?" Rayder suddenly called out.
He jumped down from the stage, both hands tucked into his pockets as he approached them.
"Are you plotting a rebellion or something?"
None of them answered.
The remaining four members eventually descended from the stage as well, joining Rayder in front of them.
Rayder smiled at June and reached out to pat his hair.
"I missed this cute face."
Before he could touch him, Nyx brushed his hand away without saying a word.
He simply stared at Rayder with an unmistakable expression that practically screamed, Hands off. He’s mine.
"..."
Ryan suddenly wished he could disappear.
Rayder cast Nyx a cold glare before smiling.
"Interesting. The F-rank loser is getting possessive. Pathetic."
Jason stepped forward, both hands in his pockets.
"Took you long enough to get here. But I suppose it doesn’t matter."
He continued, "Since we’re going to have the competition in about a week, we figured it would be helpful to practice."
Karen adjusted his glasses with a smile.
"Yes. A practice session to help the juniors adjust themselves. It’s only fair. The cosmic dungeon space is exclusive to seniors, after all. Juniors like you don’t know how it works, so we thought it would be appropriate to help you practice and understand what to expect."
June stared at them.
All he could hear was bullshit.
He was certain the real purpose was to publicly beat them up as payback.
"Is that so?" June raised an eyebrow. "How considerate. But what if we’re not interested in practicing? Maybe we should just wait until the actual competition."
Evelyn rolled her eyes.
"So annoying to listen to."
Luther frowned as he approached, his cold expression making it clear he was ready to smash anyone who challenged him.
"It’s not up to you to decide. We decide what’s best, and you do as you’re told. So get ready for practice."
Rayder smiled and gently brushed Luther aside.
"Let’s not scare off the little Guide."
He turned toward June and leaned closer.
"It’s for your own good, so don’t complain, okay?"
June said nothing.
He simply stared at them, carefully observing.
Jason turned away.
"Enough talking. Let’s proceed."
Rayder suddenly smiled.
"I have a better idea. I’ll do the fighting since there are only two of them. It’ll be fair."
He looked at June.
"But to make it more interesting, I’ll pair with the little F-rank Guide."
He smiled. "What do you say?"
June nearly rolled his eyes.
He knew he had to keep his attitude in check unless he wanted to tell this man to shut the fuck up.
"No. He’s officially paired with me, so he has to stay with me," Nyx insisted.
Rayder glared at him.
He was clearly irritated by Nyx’s nerve.
"What a bummer."
He stretched his neck before smiling again.
"Fine. You can stay with him, but I’ll be the one fighting against you."
Their eyes locked. Cold competitiveness filled the space between them.
Rayder cracked his fingers.
"I’d like to see what you’ve got. More importantly, I’d like to see how long that pretty face can handle my fists."
---
Everything was prepared, and the so-called "practice" finally began.
The students surrounding the arena cheered for Rayder at the top of their lungs.
Not a single person bothered cheering for June and Nyx.
Rayder stepped onto the stage while Evelyn remained on the floor with the others. She would be guiding him from behind.
Before Nyx stepped onto the stage, he stood beside June.
"Are you sure about this?" June asked. "We could still find a way to back out. Besides, this isn’t even a genuine practice match."
Nyx bit his lower lip before taking June’s hand.
"Don’t worry. No matter their intention, it’s still practice. I don’t care whether we win or lose. I’m only happy that you’re my Guide."
"..."
June blinked.
He couldn’t tell whether Nyx was being naive or simply too trusting.
"You..."
Nyx held his hand firmly.
"I’ll only trust your guiding."
He looked down at their joined hands.
"So let’s do our best."
Lose or win, June guessed he would simply do what Nyx wanted.
If Nyx wanted to treat this as practice and use the opportunity to improve their combat abilities, then June would go along with it.
He nodded and closed his eyes.
June was surprisingly impressed by how easily their mana synchronized.
With his eyes closed, he could clearly read Nyx’s energy and adjust his own mana accordingly, allowing their energies to begin syncing almost effortlessly.
But as he continued reading Nyx’s energy, June couldn’t ignore one thing.
It was still unstable. Very unstable.
