Chapter 98: 98: CONVINCING ENOUGH.

"So listen to this smart little brother and let it go. It doesn’t work out in the end." June sighed, sipping from his drink while Grey continued staring at him in shock.

"Did this little rascal actually dig into my life?"

Soon, Lucas finally arrived and sat down with the two of them. He folded his arms as he stared at June.

June immediately smiled brightly and stood up.

"Nice to have you here, eldest brother! Here are all the meals I ordered for you. Your absolute favorites!"

June suddenly transformed into the sweetest little brother imaginable.

He stood beside Lucas, serving him the meals and even offering to feed him.

"I can eat by myself," Lucas said, looking surprised.

"Oh, yes..." June smiled. "Then I’ll give you a massage while you eat!"

June happily began massaging his broad shoulders and back. "Eat."

He was doing everything he could to pamper Lucas so thoroughly that both of his brothers stared at him suspiciously.

"Are you sure that dungeon didn’t steal his brain cells?" Grey asked. "Or is this even our little brother?"

June immediately cast him a cold glare.

"Your brain was the one eaten by love," he snapped.

"...."

Grey blinked. "Heartless... You’re definitely our brother. I’d remember you with that devious mouth of yours."

June turned back to Lucas with a smile.

"What else would you like, lovely brother? Just tell me, and I’ll gladly do it!"

"...."

Grey squeezed his face.

"You look so odd doing that. It doesn’t suit you at all."

"Shut up," June snapped. "I’m speaking with my lovely brother, not you."

Grey leaned closer.

"Maybe if you come and feed me too, I can help you with whatever you want. You should never underestimate me."

"In your dreams," June shot back. The two exchanged funny, threatening expressions.

Lucas finally turned to June.

"I’m busy with work. Get straight to the point."

June smiled innocently and sat down again.

"So here’s the deal. I want you to help me take down someone..."

"...."

Grey blinked.

"You’re an evil little brother. I thought you had repented, but I guess not. Still so mischievous and scheming."

"Shut up."

June snapped at Grey before turning back to Lucas with a smile.

"Trust me, I would never harm anyone. He’s actually the bad guy..."

Lucas folded his arms as he listened to June’s explanation.

June explained that the person in question was Mr. Faux. He had looked into him and discovered that Faux had an important business deal to seal, one that could determine his family’s financial situation, which was already unstable.

"I want you to interfere," June said with an innocent smile. "You clearly have more connections and the upper hand in business. So you can find a way to make yourself the deciding factor in whether they get the deal or not."

He smiled.

"So I can threaten them with it."

"....."

After June finished explaining everything, both of his brothers stared at him in complete silence.

They were utterly speechless.

"You really are evil," Grey finally said with a slow nod.

"Shut up. They’re monsters. I need to save someone from their hands."

"Their son?" Grey asked.

"Yes."

"You’re so love-brained. And here you are talking about me. Which one of us is worse?"

"Clearly you." June immediately shot back. "You literally thought about eloping with him in high school."

"...."

Grey blinked.

"You... How did you know all this? Do you have some kind of brain disorder?"

June rolled his eyes before turning back to Lucas.

"So please help me. I promise that if you help, I won’t cause any trouble again. I’ll always be a good boy!"

"...."

Lucas sat there with his arms folded, silently staring at him.

"Please, please, please. Pretty please..."

June continued begging.

Eventually, Lucas sighed.

"No. I’m too busy for that."

He stood up and then walked away.

"....."

June and Grey sat there, watching him leave.

Silence filled the table, broken only by the sound of Grey sipping his drink.

"You should give up," Grey sighed. "Ethical Lucas doesn’t play those kinds of cards in business. I honestly wonder how he’s made it this far. He never plays such extreme moves. I think he has an obsession with being good and pure or something."

June bit his lower lip.

"That little rascal... After all the preparations I’ve made for him!"

He suddenly screamed at the top of his voice.

Immediately, everyone in the restaurant turned to stare at them.

Awkward silence followed as Grey slowly looked around and met the judgmental eyes of the other customers.

"So sorry for that..." Grey apologized. "My brother has some brain problems. Sorry... Please continue."

He turned back to June.

"Keep it down."

June sighed.

"I’m not giving up. Even if it means sleeping under his bed, I’m never letting him get any rest."

"...."

Grey blinked.

"You don’t mean that literally, do you...?"

"....."

June stared at him for a moment before suddenly grabbing Grey’s hand affectionately.

"Brother! Help me! Please help me! Help me convince him! I promise if you help me, I’ll be your sweet, young, obedient brother forever! I’ll never cause you any trouble!"

His voice grew loud again as he pleaded, drawing even more attention from everyone around them.

The customers were clearly becoming less amused.

Grey immediately apologized again.

"So sorry... His brain... isn’t very good..."

He turned back to June, who was still holding onto him firmly and pleading at the top of his voice.

Grey was growing increasingly embarrassed under everyone’s murderous glares.

Finally, he couldn’t take it anymore.

"Okay, okay! Leave me! I’ll help you! I’ll help you convince him, so stop embarrassing me before they throw us out!"

June’s eyes immediately lit up.

"Thanks! That’s why you’re my favorite!"

Unfortunately, it was already too late. A huge security guard was now standing beside their table.

"...."

June and Grey slowly looked up at him.

They blinked.

June stared at the security guard for a moment before whispering,

"Do you think he’s here for food?"

---

A minute later, they were kicked out of the restaurant.

Now standing side by side on the sidewalk, they stared out at the bustling street.

June smiled.

"Well, look on the bright side. We didn’t pay for the food. Free food."

Immediately, Grey’s phone beeped.

He looked down and saw a debit notification.

June blinked. "Look on the bright side... I didn’t lose any money."

Grey slowly looked at him. "Shut up."
