Chapter 99: 99: THE ART OF CONVICTION.

For the next few days, Lucas didn’t get any rest at all.

June had specifically taken sick leave from school so he could dedicate himself to pestering Lucas all day, determined to convince him.

And Grey had become his informant, telling June Lucas’s schedule while warning him about crucial periods when he absolutely shouldn’t disturb him.

June took note of everything and proceeded accordingly.

---

Lucas was attending a meeting at his company. When he arrived at the meeting room that morning, he was shocked to find June already sitting in one of the seats.

He was dressed in a flashy yellow jacket and matching trousers, with yellow sunglasses resting on top of his hair. The moment Lucas entered, June smiled brightly at him.

Compared to everyone else in their black suits, June stood out like a beacon.

He stared at Lucas, winked, and casually adjusted his sunglasses.

"What are you doing here...?" Lucas tilted his head, completely speechless.

June smiled.

"Well, I figured I’d take my life seriously and come learn some work in case they kick me out of the academy."

"...."

Lucas looked around at his coworkers, who sat quietly without saying a word.

"Who let him in? And why?"

Nobody dared interfere with the CEO’s family matters.

Lucas sighed.

"Security. Send him out."

June gasped.

"You... How dare you treat your little brother like that?"

Before he could say anything else, several security men had already entered and moved toward him.

Everyone watched in stunned silence.

June quickly got to his feet and stepped backward.

"You... Stay back! I’m a star! You can’t throw a star away! I’m a trending celebrity at the academy now! You—"

He dodged around the security men and ran out of the meeting room.

"It’s not the end! I’ll show you my love, brother!"

The colleagues couldn’t help but giggle as Lucas covered his face in embarrassment.

---

Lucas didn’t stay at home. He had been staying alone in a hotel, so he was rather shocked when he returned to his room and discovered someone was already inside.

He heard water running.

Assuming someone had broken in, Lucas grabbed a nearby stick and slowly approached the bathroom, ready to deal with the thief.

But he froze when June stepped out of the bathroom.

He was dressed in a white robe with a towel wrapped around his hair.

"...."

The two stared at each other in silence.

"What are you doing here...?" Lucas demanded.

June smiled and walked toward the bed.

"You have such warm water. It’s so soothing. And you refused to share the secret behind your glowing skin. So stingy."

"Why are you here?"

June tilted his head.

"I paid my big brother a visit."

"How did you get in here?" Lucas demanded.

"I’m your brother. Of course they’ll let me in."

June smiled innocently.

"...."

Lucas felt his head beginning to throb.

"You..."

June sat comfortably on the bed.

"Why are you so worked up that I visited? It’s not like you’re hiding a lady in here or something. Are you?"

"...."

Lucas said nothing. He simply stared at June with his cold eyes before pulling out his phone and calling security.

A few minutes later, June was standing outside the room as the door slammed shut in his face.

He was still wearing his robe, with the towel hanging around his waist.

"You! My clothes are still in there!"

The door opened again.

Lucas simply threw his clothes at him before closing it.

June caught them.

"What a brother without love at all! Your lover is so unlucky!"

---

Lucas was having lunch with a business partner, a middle-aged man.

The two sat beside a lawn tennis court, watching other wealthy people play while enjoying cold drinks beneath a shaded area.

They were discussing business when the middle-aged businessman suddenly looked up at the court.

"Huh? Isn’t that your brother?"

Lucas followed his gaze.

There stood June.

"...."

Lucas was speechless.

June was absolutely terrible at tennis.

He ran frantically around the court, missing almost every shot while his partner looked increasingly exhausted from watching him.

Whenever June missed a ball, he would turn toward Lucas with a bright smile and wave.

"Hii! Lovely brother! What a coincidence that we meet here! You also play—"

Too late.

His opponent hit the ball.

It slammed directly into June’s head.

June’s eyes immediately filled with stars.

"Oh..."

He smiled dazedly, seemingly trying to count them before collapsing onto the court.

The middle-aged businessman stared at Lucas.

"Your brother is rather... active."

"...."

Lucas covered his face in shame.

---

It didn’t end there.

While Lucas was working in his office, his secretary informed him that someone was looking for him outside.

Confused, Lucas walked toward the window to see what was happening.

And, as though he’d already learned to expect the unexpected, he saw June standing outside.

June smiled and waved enthusiastically.

"Happy Best Brother Day!" he shouted.

Passersby and employees inside the company noticed the scene through their windows and smiled.

Lucas, meanwhile, was filled with shame.

He tried hiding his face, but it was already too late.

June had prepared another ridiculous stunt.

More than a hundred balloons were released into the air from a car parked nearby.

The balloons floated higher and higher, each carrying messages.

[BEST BROTHER] was written across many of them.

Others read:

[HELP ME, BROTHER!]

Lucas simply stared in shock as the balloons drifted through the sky.

Then, one of them suddenly caught fire.

June gasped.

"How’s that even a thing...?"

Three more balloons caught fire.

Some police officers nearby immediately noticed the situation and began chasing after June.

"I didn’t do anything! Leave me!"

June ran for his life with the police pursuing him.

Lucas stared from the window, not even knowing how he could deny knowing June at this point.

He’d probably have to bail him out again for whatever mess he’d created.

Yet, despite himself, Lucas smiled.

He remembered how ridiculous June had looked after being hit by the tennis ball. He remembered the way he’d invaded his hotel room and disrupted his meeting.

And every time, despite the embarrassment and annoyance, Lucas had secretly smiled.

Even beneath his usual cold facade, Lucas couldn’t help but find June’s shenanigans amusing.

"Boss... are you smiling?" the secretary asked, surprised.

Lucas’s expression immediately turned cold again.

"No." He cleared his throat. "Go make preparations to bail him out."
