Faye had been busy running back and forth between the classes as they sent signals out to the Sergeants. As the only person who was currently actively helping them, she hadn’t had the time to rest.
’Where is Leo? I haven’t seen him once,’ Faye thought to herself.
As if on command, she received a message from him stating that 2 students had gone missing, and he was in the middle of finding them. It was a bit troublesome that Leo was focusing on two students when there were several classes that needed their help, but a few of the teachers were a little trigger happy with sending the signals.
She closed the watch, and continued running, ’If anything I’d expect them to have died on a planet like this, but Leo has proven me wrong before.’
Arriving at another class, she found that they had encountered an advanced tier beast, and she unsheathed her rapier, ready to strike.

Deciding between the direction of which mountain side to climb was about as productive as watching paint dry, which was to say, everyone was indecisive. One half wanted to go in one direction, and the other in a different one. There was even a brief discussion about the class splitting up, but there was a fear about losing strength in numbers if they did.
"Enough arguing, we’re going in this direction, and that’s final," Del commanded.
Since Del had the communicator, he strung up a lie that he was the only one who was able to use it, and that if he disappeared, then the Sergeants would have no way to locate where he was.
Except, the only thing the Sergeants would know was the last time he used the distress signal button, which was back in the jungle. It was not an active tracker like he made the others believe.
Del turned on the scanners to allow the students to scan again, as it was a handy tool to use incase they were encountering a dangerous plant or not. Despite this, the students weren’t really using them to gain points like they had earlier. The sense of competition was nearly gone as a few students had seen their friends get eaten by the flora saur.
As they traveled through the narrow ridges up the mountain, they saw there were a few blades of purple grass. It was an interesting peculiarity of the alien planet, and looked quite pretty.
Peter plucked one of the grasses, and showed it to Cia, "Hey, it’s purple like you!"
The elevation began to level out, and they came across an open field, which was notable as it was just as green as the rest of the jungle. The students began to spread out more as they were no longer walking on a narrow path.
One brave student walked over to the edge of the field, and saw the clearing at the base of the mountain, but were unable to find the area they started from. The class could try to get higher up the mountain, but to do so would require climbing the walls with their hands and feet. It was too steep to walk through.
Over back in Erin’s team, Vorden came back from Del’s personal group up front, and was telling them about the situation.
"Your teacher really doesn’t know what he’s doing," Vorden muttered, "If anything, I think he just had the strongest students up front so he can use them as bodyguards."
The team turned towards their homeroom teacher to find Del standing in the middle surrounded by a few students. He was looking up the mountain, and down the path they had came from, as if he was trying to look busy.
Quinn nodded, "I agree, but maybe something more like canon fodder."
They had been lucky that the flora saur hadn’t followed them to the mountain, as otherwise, they were pretty sure Del would’ve just thrown the students at the problem until it died.
Just then, a few audible beeps came out of the scanners, and the class turned towards the source of the sound. It had came from a student who wasn’t standing next to anything immediately obvious, and he looked around confused. They were expecting to encounter a beast, but there was clearly nothing.
Del walked over to the student, "What did you discover?"
He pointed at a blade of purple grass, and then showed his scanner to Del, "It says this grass is a beast!"
Del snatched the scanner, and glared at the screen, "An intermediate beast? This little thing? How can that be possible?"
The singular blade of purple grass was the same size as any other grass back on earth, in that, it was impossible for a beast crystal to fit inside of one.
When the kid mentioned that it was actually a beast, all the students looked around to find that if they looked closely enough, there were several individual blades of grass spread around the area.
Cia held the purple grass Peter gave her, and held it close to her eye, "How can this be a beast? Are we sure the scanner isn’t broken?"
Dropping it, she looked up, and noticed that the sky had darkened when she wasn’t looking, and a few droplets of water began to fall to the ground.
"Damn it, we weren’t able to find a shelter in time," she commented.
Meanwhile, Quinn crouched down, and was watching a purple grass closely.
"What are you doing watching the grass?" Layla asked, then turned to Vorden, "Shouldn’t you two try making a shelter real quick with your abilities?"
Vorden, however, seemed to be interested in what Quinn was doing, and he got up, looking concerned.
Back when Erin inspected the bouldersnail earlier, Quinn had remembered the beast’s description, and although he didn’t have the same skill, there was something deeply troubling on his mind.
"Hey, guys, didn’t the bouldersnails become active when it rained?"
Fex shrugged, "Did they? Either way, I don’t think these are bouldersnails."
"No, he might be onto something," Vorden said, and took a step back, "I think this might be the same thing here!"
The rain continued to gradually increase in intensity, and a droplet of water landed on the purple grass they were all watching.
Just then, it vibrated, and it wasn’t the only one, as other blades of grass trembled around the class.
"Guys! Get away from the purple grass!" Quinn shouted.
Just then, a large purple plant erupted from the ground, its body as thick as a tree, and the head as wide as a car where the singular grass stood on top of it. Its massive maw surrounded Quinn, about to swallow him whole.
Before he could even react, Vorden shoved him out of danger’s way, and was swallowed whole himself.
The plant sunk into the ground, taking him with it. Vorden was gone, all within a second.
