The thought had barely formed before Velmira disappeared from the chamber, immediately Teleporting to a certain location she knew very well, a place she had visited countless times before, but the moment she arrived there her movement stopped completely as her eyes took in the scene in front of her.

Several Butlers and Maids lay dead across the chamber, their corpses scattered around while blood had spread across almost every corner of the room, but Velmira’s attention wasn’t on any of them, it was fixed on a single individual standing further ahead while holding a female figure against the wall, a massive blade pierced directly through her stomach while another blade remained pressed against her neck.

The man smiled as he kept the female figure trapped in his grasp and continued speaking, "Where was I? Ah! Yes, your Master, she can’t do anything to either the Royals or anyone linked with them, so forget about her killing me and just spill the answer to my earlier question, Hehehe!"

His maniac laughter spread throughout the entire chamber while the female figure remained almost half-dead against the wall behind her, blood covering her body and flowing from several wounds, yet even in that state her blurry eyes suddenly shifted away from the man holding her and toward the presence that had appeared several meters behind him.

She saw her.

Even through her weakened vision, she recognized the figure standing there without needing to see her clearly, and a faint smile appeared on her blood-covered face before a single thought surfaced in her mind, ’Master...’

With that thought, her eyes finally closed and her body went completely limp, making the man holding her frown in confusion as he looked at her face, ’Huh? Why did she smile before going unconscious?’ He didn’t have enough time to think about it, however, because a faint sound of footsteps suddenly came from behind him, making his expression change as panic immediately spread through his mind.

He quickly turned around to see who had managed to bypass his senses and enter the chamber without him noticing, and the moment his eyes landed on the person standing there, his pupils widened in complete horror for a brief moment, because the person he had absolutely not expected to see had already arrived.

Wh-What? What’s she doing here? I was informed she wouldn’t come until another day...what is the meaning of this?...Wait, she can’t harm me anyway, Hehehe~’

His fear quickly turned into a forced sense of confidence as he removed one of his hands from behind his back, where he had already placed it to take out the dagger hidden there, before putting on a smile and speaking toward the woman standing silently in front of him, "Welcome, Lady Velmira Ashenworth, you may not know me, but I am one of the Minister Nobles serving in King Azarion’s private council, as you can see-"

He didn’t get to finish.

Pain suddenly erupted throughout his entire body, pain so overwhelming that his pupils seemed to bulge out from their sockets as his entire expression twisted in horror, yet he couldn’t understand what had happened to him because he couldn’t feel any limb being removed or any organ being damaged, there was no visible wound on his body either, and yet the pain was so intense that his entire body instinctively trembled.

He could only scream.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!"

His scream shook the entire chamber as he desperately tried to understand what Velmira had done, but the answer remained impossible for him to find, because Velmira hadn’t even moved from the position where she had stopped after entering the room, she hadn’t taken a single step toward him, yet somehow the pain tearing through his body was so immense that even his mind struggled to remain conscious.

Only then did Velmira’s attention shift toward him for the first time.

Until that moment she had been staring only at her Disciple’s half-dead figure, but now her eyes briefly moved toward the screaming Noble, and the instant that direct gaze landed on him, even through the overwhelming pain consuming his mind, his instincts immediately recognized the danger behind those eyes.

It wasn’t simply anger.

It was something far colder.

Velmira didn’t say anything to him, nor did she move toward him, she simply turned her attention back toward her Disciple and walked forward, each step carrying a silence that felt far more frightening than the Noble’s screaming, until she finally reached Mary and crouched down in front of her.

Blood was still flowing from several wounds across Mary’s body, including the massive wound in her stomach and the cuts around her neck and face, and Velmira calmly reached out her hand to wipe away the blood running from her Disciple’s eyes before speaking only two words, "Soul Regeneration—Meta Heal."

The instant those words left her mouth, a golden and white light erupted around Mary and completely covered her body without leaving even a single part of her outside its range, the massive blade piercing through her stomach immediately began dissolving into dust while the wound itself closed within moments, and every other injury across her body started healing at the same time, including the wounds around her eyes, neck, arms and legs.

But the physical injuries weren’t the main purpose of the ability.

The most important thing the golden and white light repaired was Mary’s soul itself, because as the name of the ability suggested, Soul Regeneration—Meta Heal primarily targeted the soul before using the remaining energy to restore the physical body, allowing every part of Mary’s body and soul to recover simultaneously without showing even the slightest resistance.

Slowly, the golden and white light began fading from Mary’s body after completing its work, leaving behind not even a trace of the blood or wounds that had covered her moments ago, and after a few seconds her eyelids finally began to flutter open.

The first thing Mary saw after opening her eyes was Velmira.

Her Master was crouching directly in front of her, but the expression on her face was something Mary had almost never seen before, her usually composed eyes now looked heavy while a clear trace of worry remained within them, and the moment Mary realized that the expression was because Velmira had been genuinely worried about her, her own widened eyes began to tremble slightly.
