Chapter 246: Chapter 246: The Mysterious Little Girl

Six months. That was the exact duration required to butcher infinity.

In the grand play of existence, six months was not even a fraction of a cosmic heartbeat. But within the absolute boundaries of the Dark Universe, time did not naturally exist. Neo had to force it into reality.

He carved the concept of seconds and minutes out of the flesh of the void leviathans. His campaign was not a traditional war of armies and strategic borders. It was an apocalyptic buffet. He slaughtered the lightless behemoths. He butchered entities that predated the very concept of reality.

The Dark Realm threw trillions of nightmares at him, manifestations of pure nonexistence that sought to overwrite his soul and erase his memories.

He survived solely because of his Supreme Talent. Universal Synthesis was the only guiding light in his perilous adventures. When the system shattered and left him blind on his first day, his talent stepped in to act as his compass, his shield, and his endlessly hungering maw.

Every time a massive leviathan attempted to consume his logic, Neo forcefully grabbed their nonphysical forms and activated Universal Synthesis. He ripped their anti logic apart. He fused their endless cold directly into his own chaotic nervous system.

He combined the absolute zero of the true void with his own Abyssal dark matter. He forcefully merged the predatory instincts of the dark cosmos with his Holy Eradication fire, corrupting the divine white flames into a sickening, devouring black sludge.

The pain of these continuous fusions was beyond any mortal or divine comprehension. For the first two months, Neo did nothing but scream in the silent void as his Type One Primordial body was repeatedly broken and reforged by his own talent. He was forcing a localized reality to digest pure impossibility.

His bones shattered and became dark matter. His blood evaporated and became liquid void. But by the third month, the screaming stopped.

By the fourth month, the leviathans stopped hunting him.

By the fifth month, they began to run away.

Neo had forgotten what it felt like to be a galactic sovereign. He forgot the pristine golden gates of the Pantheon Hall. He became a force of pure, unadulterated butchery. His physical form shifted continuously, becoming a jagged, terrifying silhouette of fractured void and dripping black starlight.

He was no longer a god invading the dark. He had become the absolute epitome of Darkness and Slaughter.

Entire sectors of the Dark Universe collapsed just from his passing gaze. Whenever he opened his mouth, the void bled. Whenever he raised his hand, entire legions of lightless entities were condensed into a singular bloody sphere and swallowed whole by his Dominator Core.

He learned how to synthesize the screams of the dying monsters into pure energy, fueling an endless rampage of destruction that terrified even the oldest residents of the uncharted cosmos.

By the sixth month, the slaughter concluded.

There was nothing left to kill.

The infinite ocean of black pitch grew perfectly still. Neo floated alone in the true center of the uncharted cosmos. He had hollowed out a sector of the Dark Universe the size of a billion galaxies, leaving behind only a graveyard of fading shadows. He forged a massive throne out of the condensed despair of the leviathans he had devoured.

He sat upon it, a terrifying sovereign of the ultimate dark. He breathed in, and the void around him violently contracted. He breathed out, and the void expanded. He had successfully replaced the natural order of the Dark Realm with his own monstrous existence.

He was the apex predator. He was the end of all things.

Then, he felt it.

It was a microscopic vibration in the absolute stillness. It was a sensation he had not felt since he left the blinding perfection of Zenith Prime. It was the distinct, fragile resonance of conceptual logic. It was the smell of magic.

Neo opened his bottomless black eyes. The inverted light within his pupils flared with sudden curiosity. He stood up from his throne of despair. Someone or something was bleeding into his private domain.

He instantly collapsed the space between himself and the anomaly, tearing through the fabric of the void with zero effort.

He arrived at the absolute edge of his conquered territory. Floating in the suffocating pitch black ocean was a tiny, cracked sphere of light. It was a dimensional bubble, no larger than a standard mortal room. Inside this fragile sphere, the laws of physics desperately clung to existence. Gravity functioned. Air circulated. Light flickered weakly against the crushing weight of the outside darkness.

Sitting in the absolute center of this dying bubble was a mysterious little girl.

Neo hovered just outside the glass, completely hidden within the absolute dark. He tilted his head, observing the anomaly. The girl looked no older than ten years old. Her hair was a shock of chaotic, messy silver that fell over her pale shoulders.

She wore a ragged, oversized black cloak that practically swallowed her small frame. Her bare knees rested against a cracked stone floor that seemed to have been ripped directly from a ruined castle.

She was not alone.

Surrounding her fragile dimensional bubble were dozens of parasitic void remnants. They were the bottom feeders of the Dark Universe, pathetic scavengers attempting to crack the glass and consume her logic. To Neo, they were less than insects. But to a mortal child, they were an apocalyptic threat.

The glass of her dimensional bubble cracked further. The void remnants shrieked, pressing their shapeless bodies against the barrier, preparing to flood the tiny space and erase her from existence.

The little girl did not run. She had nowhere to run. She did not cry or panic. Instead, she fell entirely still, closed her eyes, and clasped her tiny pale hands together in a gesture of profound desperation.

She began to pray.

Neo watched with a cold, analytical gaze. Mortals prayed all the time. They prayed for salvation. They prayed to the Wardens of Eternity. They prayed for the golden light of the Pantheon Hall to strike down their enemies.

It was a pathetic, useless habit born from weakness.

But as Neo listened to the syllables escaping her trembling lips, his dark matter eyes widened by a fraction of a millimeter.

It was not a prayer to the Pantheon Hall. It was not a plea to the heavens. The words were laced with heavy, forbidden cosmic necromancy.

"Hear me, Sovereign of the Ultimate Night. I reject the golden light. I reject the frail laws of the cosmos. I offer my blood and my soul to the absolute abyss. Come forth, Epitome of Slaughter. Answer my call, God of the Endless Dark."

She was trying to summon a demon. No, she was trying to summon something much worse than a demon. She was actively reaching into the Dark Universe to pull out a god of destruction.

The magic circle pulsed with a magnetic pull.

Out in the void, Neo felt a sudden, distinct tug on his spirit. It was a minuscule, almost laughable pressure. It felt like a single drop of rain trying to dictate the current of a boundless ocean. But the direction of the pull was unmistakable.

The little girl was not praying to a vague concept of evil. She was not praying to a forgotten titan. She was praying directly to him. She was summoning the apex predator of the Dark Realm.

The void remnants finally shattered the glass.

The dimensional bubble burst. The laws of physics evaporated instantly. The scavengers of the true cosmos flooded the small space, opening their toothless maws to consume the silver haired child.

The girl kept her eyes squeezed tightly shut, holding her bleeding hands together as the monsters descended upon her.

But the monsters never reached her.

Neo took a single step forward.

The entire sector of the Dark Universe froze in absolute, paralyzing terror.

The void remnants stopped dead in their tracks, suspended mere inches from the little girl. They did not freeze because of the Concept of Stasis. They froze because the ultimate authority of the Dark Realm had just entered the room. Their shapeless bodies began to violently tremble as Neo walked slowly through the broken dimensional barrier.

The little girl opened her eyes.

She looked up.

Standing before her was a towering, terrifying silhouette of fractured void and dripping black starlight. The creature possessed no human features, save for two bottomless black eyes that burned with inverted light. The suffocating pressure radiating from his physical body was so immense that the surrounding void remnants spontaneously exploded into fine gray dust, unable to survive even being in his presence.

Neo stared down at the trembling child. He looked at the crude summoning circle glowing beneath her bleeding knees. The magic array was still desperately trying to pull him forward, like a fragile string tied to a mountain.

"You have a remarkable amount of audacity, little one," Neo said.

His voice did not sound human. It sounded like the grinding of tectonic plates, echoing with the combined weight of a trillion slaughtered leviathans. It carried the absolute authority of the void, vibrating directly into the very core of her soul.

The little girl stared up at the Epitome of Slaughter. She was clearly terrified, her entire tiny body shaking like a leaf in a hurricane. But she did not look away. She maintained absolute eye contact with the God of Hell.

"Did you answer my prayer?" she whispered, her voice barely audible over the roaring pressure of his aura.

Neo slowly crouched down until his bottomless black eyes were perfectly level with her face. He reached out with a hand forged entirely from the void and gently wiped a drop of blood from her pale cheek. The touch alone was enough to warp reality around them, forcing the broken dimensional bubble to aggressively repair itself just to accommodate his impossible existence.

"I did," Neo answered softly. "Now tell me, little one. Who exactly do you want me to slaughter?"
