Chapter 64: Chapter 63: Idiot
Arriving in her house, Caesar entered her room and dressed, staying in her black underwear of black bra and panties while her furry tail swayed.
She carried her bakery work top and a few other of her clothes and placed inside the washing machine.
As soon as she did this, she had a recollection of herself when she was seventeen years old, wearing a white midriff top, blue jeans and black sneakers, standing in front of Rai and Eyo and watching as her beastfolk father and her human mother quietly entered the house and gave a cold glare at Caesar.
Rai and Eyo quivered behind Caesar while Caesar gazed at her parents with her usual plain expression.
Caesar and the parents locked eyes with one another until the father finally spoke.
"So you had the mind to lock us up? The nerve to call the police on your own parents?"
Caesar however said nothing and continued to stare at them which made the father chuckle bitterly.
"Would you look at that. Our daughter has grown wings." The father said, "Wings big enough to swing at us and still call the police."
"It’s alright, darling. It seems the girl now believes she’s an adult." The mother replied the father while smiling, "At seventeen, she’s now acting like this... I wonder what she’ll be doing in a few months from now.
Perhaps she might start joining gangs and doing ’street-works’. I won’t be surprised if she is doing that among her many works."
The mother then shifted her gaze towards Rai and Eyo which led the two to quiver even more behind Caesar.
"Let’s not act like there wasn’t a reason why this happened in the first place." Caesar said to the parents, "The defamation that got me barred from Redrock university and blacklisted from other universities as well.
Not to mention burning the bus fees of Rai and Eyo that I was saving just to hurt me more after whole the defamation."
"You’ve been abusing us all our lives and it has to stop." Caesar continued as her mother tilted her head, "Be grateful I chose to take out of my savings just to bail you out. Besides, you promised you won’t trouble us anymore."
"Oh? Of course." Caesar’s mother said while her smile grew, "Our daughter’s bail. The measley amount of how much again? Well, it doesn’t matter.
You won’t get a single fuss from us as promised."
The father moved his head back a little and narrowed his eyes at Caesar as his expression was filled with disdain and disgust.
"In Krava-deva,there is a saying we have: A fool who believes he has surpassed his master will face his untimely demise when he challenges him." Caesar’s father said, "You think you have fully danced with life because of a few things you are doing? You’ll never be better than us, girl."
"You and those little things you call brothers will always amount to nothing." The father continued as Caesar narrowed her eyes, "Mark my words, you will be nothing more than a prostitute and a thug.
Those rats behind you will do nothing more than being public menaces just like you."
"Pushing that much?" Caesar asked, "I’m still having second and third thoughts about bailing you out. Please don’t make me regret doing it."
Caesar’s father scoffed and turned his back to walk away. Her mother winked at Caesar before letting out a small grin and following her husband.
As soon as they left, Caesar took a deep breath, dropped to her knees and used her hands to support herself.
Rai and Eyo placed their tiny hands on Caesar’s head and back.
Caesar then embraced the two and exhaled once again.
Currently as Caesar was having her bathe in the shower, the faces of parents surfaced in her head, leading her to close her eyes and sigh.
"Even in death, I’ve still not escaped your shadows, huh." Caesar said within.
Minutes later as Caesar stepped out of the shower, having a towel wrapped round her voluptuous body, her ears flinched as she heard a ringing, leading her to turn to the direction of the sound and saw her phone ringing on the bed.
Caesar walked towards the phone and picked it up and placed on her right ear.
"Hello?" Caesar said.
"Hello, dear customer! " A masculine voice said enthusiastically, "Congratulations on your win because you have just been awarded a ten million yon prize!"
"Unbelievable, right?!" The masculine voice as while Caesar’s face became blank.
The voice then chuckled and continued speaking.
"All you have to do is-"
Caesar quickly hung the phone and tossed it back on her bed.
"This guy really needs to learn how to do a better job in scamming people." Caesar said in her mind.
Caesar glanced at an old big teddy bear that was kept among her belongings in the room which led her to recall years ago in MM-16 when the sixteen year old her was at a carnival, collecting two cotton candies from a dark skinned female human.
In the middle of the act, she felt a shrug on her thigh.
Caesar looked down and saw Rai and Eyo carrying the huge teddy bear while grinning at her.
This made Caesar’s face soften and her ears to flatten.
After remembering that moment, Caesar took a deep breath and smiled.
"I really miss those little devils." Caesar said in her mind, "It feels so lonely without them. I wonder how long it will take before they have their holidays.
I have a lot of things I have planned to do with them. Places to go. Concerts.
Hell, I could take them to eat at Queen Biggie or see my favorite band Black Sunday."
Akari’s face then surfaced in her head which led Caesar to stiffen before slowly tilting her head down.
"I know... I’ll take a photo of you and send to your brothers for them to see the pathetic state of their elder sister." Akari’s voice replayed in Caesar’s head.
After remembering that statement, Caesar gritted her teeth.
"One year. One year to thrive." Caesar said in her mind, "That’s all I’m given. Thrive in EBW for a whole year and the other families will step in and set me free. Free from the Mizukais. Free from the debt."
"But the question is... This road I have decided to take... Even if I succeed, will I be free from myself?" Caesar asked as she stared down at her palm, "This path I am taking... Will I be able to come back from it or better still, will I be able to recognize myself?
Cedric before he left, told me to let the monster be a mask that I can take off not who I really am.
After my match with Damien, I decided that the monster will be that mask and not what I truly am.
After all, I know what my goals are in the company and anything else is irrelevant."
"Still..." Caesar continued as she started rubbing cream on her body, "After that interview... Just like the conversation I had on the road earlier, I know there is no turning back. Not with what I said.
I just made myself a bigger target among the ero-wrestlers. I gave them more reasons to hate me. Not that I care anymore.
When I’m done I’m gone... Yeah.. I just hope I am able to live up to the other families expectations and succeed because if I don’t..."
Caesar placed her cream back and exhaled.
"If I don’t... Then I’m the biggest idiot on the face of this planet." Caesar said within, "Yeah...Idiot is the right word.
I just hope I don’t get crushed under the pressure."
Meanwhile within a certain house, a man in the shadows, watched the conversation between Caesar and Damien in the cafe on his television.
After watching for a while, he took hold of the remote and turned off the screen.
"Interesting conversation. Very interesting, don’t you think?" The man asked, "To think the one who was more hated than Nero would become a discussion for us to decide if she belongs with us.
I personally believe she should be a part of our faction. Having her with us will increase our greatness."
"Maybe." A feminine voice replied, "She has become a larger figure after the video and her victory over Damien but still, we can’t just decide if she is worthy to join our side yet. We still have to give the usurper time. Watch her wrestle a few more matches before we make our move on what do next with her.
Besides we deciding is one thing, her joining is another."
"We once ruled EBW. Our group made it clear that ’Supremacy. Is. Necessary’." The man said, "All the gold the company had to offer, we held them all. No one took them until we decided to relinquish them on our free will and disband.
Now we are carefully crafting our return to EBW, and I believe she would be the first gold we’ll collect when it happens.
Besides, I have gotten news that by Thursday next month, I will be her opponent."
"She is affiliated with the Mizukais. I don’t believe she will be someone we can really recruit. Plus she doesn’t seem like the type that will agree to come over to us." The woman stated, "Even she does, what about the Mizukais? Will they agree for their representative to join our faction?"
"Don’t know, but it’s worth the shot. But if she doesn’t, then we’ll deal with her ’in’ the ring just like we deal with others." The masculine shadow figure said as a grin surfaced on his face.
