Caesar's Moon

Chapter 65 - 64: Plans.

Chapter 65: Chapter 64: Plans.

In the morning, Caesar’s alarm rang and she extended her arm to turn it off before standing from her bed and walking towards the bathroom to wash her face.

Caesar performed all her morning workouts as usual in the house from push-ups, sit-ups, squats, jumping jacks and pull-ups.

Just like the previous day, she attached the weights round her limbs and jogged on the streets.

Unlike the first time she did this, this time she seemed to be moving a bit much better than before.

Later as she was striking the tree while the weights were still attached, words were leaving her mouth with each punch thrown.

"Fifty nine, sixty, sixty one, sixty two, sixty three..."

Later again, Caesar was striking the tree with her legs while counting.

"Sixty four, sixty five, sixty six, sixty seven, sixty eight, sixty nine, seventy."

Time had passed as Caesar was working in Balland and Barnes Bakery, carrying a small cake on a tray, she placed it in front of a fair skinned male beastfolk coworker, who stared down at the cake for a time before he smiled.

Suddenly, Caesar and the beastfolk ears twitched as they heard a strange sound, causing them both to leave and head towards the direction.

Arriving there, the fair skinned beastfolk brought his head down and covered his face while Caesar stared with an arched brow.

In the midst of the other coworkers, a dark skinned human male dressed as a clown with red hair and pale red scleras, stood while the coworkers raised a calming hand.

"Sir, please calm down. It was just a mix of names on the cake!" A masculine voice said, "We’ll make a new one free of charge with your wife’s name on it!"

"My wife filed for divorce because she thought I was cheating on her!" The man said with a squeaky voice, "I requested to put her name there and you put the name of a woman I don’t know!

The fuck is Martina?! Who the fuck is that woman?!"

He then snapped his gaze to a male human worker.

"The fuck you on?!" The clown said as he swiftly smashed his fist against the human’s face repeatedly.

In that moment, the workers of Balland and Barnes rushed in to restrain the clown.

"Shit!" One of them said.

A huge fair skinned male human among the coworkers quickly wrapped his arms round the clown’s neck from behind, performing the sleeper hold in the act while the clown was dangling in the air and screaming in rage and panic as his arm was extended forward.

"What the hell, man! That’s a customer!" A masculine voice sounded.

"Yo, let go!" Another masculine voice sounded.

The clown’s screams slowly died down as he lost consciousness.

The big man released his lock round his neck, allowing the clown to slump to the ground.

Caesar in seeing this, arched a brow again before speaking.

"What the hell just happened?"

"Uh... You won’t know this because your shift was over but yesterday, that guy came here asking for a cake to be baked and told us the name he wanted which was his wife’s because it was her birthday." A dark skinned female beastfolk explained, "Unfortunately it seems that the name was mixed with another name and now he is mad about it."

"Wow. Just wow." Caesar said with a blank face.

"Caesar!" A masculine voice sounded.

Caesar and a few of the coworkers turned back and saw the person to be Balland whose arms were crossed.

"Please come with me." Balland said.

As Balland turned his back and walked away, several of Caesar’s coworkers glanced at her.

Caesar then sighed and walked after Balland but as soon as she did that, Gura narrowed her eyes and clenched her fists.

Caesar stood with Balland in a private area and Balland leaned his back against the wall.

"Before we start, I just want to ask a question: Are you feeling okay? Is there anything wrong?" Balland asked.

"I’m afraid I don’t follow." Caesar said.

"I... Saw your interview. The one with Dazzle magazine." Balland said.

Caesar hearing the words of Balland, stayed silent for a moment.

"Oh."

"Yes. Oh." Balland said.

"Caesar, what do you think you’re doing?" Balland asked in an almost tired tone, "I get your situation here with the Mizukais and the false public narratives but going out there in the interview and declaring yourself as an enemy to the talents in EBW... Come on.

You’ve just given them more reasons to hate you."

"The condition the other families gave was simple: thrive in EBW for a whole year and they will step in. Not become a lightning rod to attract more troubles than you already have." Balland continued as he covered his face with his hand, "With what you said, I don’t think the ero-wrestlers there will let you thrive. Hell, if things get out of control, you might not even make it to a year."

"Why do you have to make this so difficult for yourself?" Balland asked as Caesar turned her face away, "I don’t know much about the ero-wrestlers or ero-wrestling but with you just laid out, you’re basically begging them to sabotage you with any chance they have.

You didn’t have to say all that."

"You’re right. I didn’t, but at same time I felt I needed to." Caesar replied, "Maybe I could have kept my mouth shut about the wrestlers and fans, but I needed to get a lot of things off my chest."

"I am aware of what I did yesterday. I am aware that I could have just avoided the whole interview by shutting those bastards down harder and refusing to answer any questions that didn’t involve the magazine, but I didn’t because I was upset. Terribly upset." Caesar continued as she turned towards Balland, "The debt I was coerced to pay in my parents stead, being forced into EBW, Akari, the false narrative that made me hated and more... I just felt it pouring out.

Well, almost all of it because I can’t say the truth of my situation with the Mizukais otherwise I will end up bringing harm to my brothers."

"Caesar, I understand you, but what you said yesterday... That just invited more danger to your life than necessary." Balland said, "I got a question to ask: You’re still under the mercy of the Mizukais and you just made the wrestlers in EBW despise you more. Your only hope are those families, but what are you going to do if they decide you didn’t pass and leave you alone?

You’ll still be under that demon infested family for years until the debt is paid and will still have to continue dealing with the amplified hatred from the ero-wrestlers."

"Before I would have said there would be a chance of them eventually softening up to you, but after that interview, I’m not sure that’s possible anymore." Balland continued with a raised brow.

"You’re right. It might not be possible anymore. Hell, someone even said something similar to what you said... That just goes to show how dumb the decision I made was." Caesar replied as she tilted her head down, " I even gave the whole family thing a thought back home. But just as I said before, that at this point, there is not turning back.

I can only move forward with what I’ve done. And I have no choice but to do everything in my power to make good of my words there."

"And if you can’t? If you fail?" Balland asked as he narrowed his eyes.

"Then it’s just like I said to myself before... I’m the biggest idiot born on Neo-earth." Caesar answered as she raised her head with a cold smirk, "And I deserve whatever shit that happens to me."

After Caesar had given her answer, Balland brought his head down and sighed.

"Damnit, Caesar." Balland said.

Elsewhere within the good ornamented office of Raizan Mizukai who at the moment was talking to Rin Mizukai through the huge blue holographic board.

"Did you watch the interview of Dazzle Magazine’s promotion?" Raizan asked, "If you didn’t, then you should.

Our little debtor has made another controversial move."

"I watched it, and to be honest, I wasn’t surprised with how she spoke there." Rin said, "That furback never seemed to be sharpest tool in the shed."

"Now, now. That’s no way to speak about someone who will become a ’proper representative’ of our family." Raizan said.

"Humph." Rin said, "Anyway, I checked the metrics of her actions and it brought... Quite the reaction."

"Of course, it did. It created a strong controversy that drew more eyes to EBW and EBW is a company that thrives on controversy." Raizan said, "Yet as much as her words recieved a lot of backlash from the people, it has also increased the numbers of fans she has unknowningly gained.

The people want to have more of her."

"It’s just as you said before, eldest brother... Caesar Moon is profitable." Rin said.

"Yes, she is." Raizan replied as he leaned back against his chair while placing his fingers against each other, "All we need to do is to polish and make her the proper EBW star. The top name of the company.

We play it right, and we earn far more than what she owes us while maintaining our hold on her."

"Yes, but the problem is Akari." Rin said, "She placed the beastfolk in the company for humiliation. To see Caesar debased.

And just as you said before, Caesar right now is fueled by spite and is determined not to give the satisfaction of watching her collapse."

Rin adjusted her glasses and continued.

"Caesar defeating Damien Bane was an open act of defiance to Akari’s enjoyment. You felt it, we all felt it. And one of the things Akari hates is to be challenged... Defied."

"Yet, Caesar’s defiance has piqued Akari’s interest, and now she is willing to escalate the dangers of opponents just to see the kind of state Caesar will be left in." Raizan said as he tilted his head, "I’m already making preparations as I said I would if she does well against Damien and she did.

Until it’s ready, Caesar will have to take what Akari is giving her."

Rin nodded her head in response before turning off the hologram.

After she had done that, Raizan leaned his head on his knuckles and spoke.

"Hmmm."
