Chapter 67: Chapter 66: Labels
At the time Caesar was walking down on the streets, wearing a red short sleeve top with blue jeans and white sneakers while her hands were in her pockets, Balland’s voice replayed in her head.
"Your only hope are those families, but what are you going to do if they decide you didn’t pass and leave you alone?
If you can’t? If you fail?"
Caesar after remembering his voice, sighed and spoke in her heart.
"The same thing I asked myself is what he asked me. I really am an idiot."
While Caesar was still walking, she observed the looks of other people’s faces in the streets; Some gave uneasy glances, some smirked, some smiled and waved their hands, some stared at her with indifference and some with disgust.
Caesar however ignored them and continued like nothing happened until a voice broke through the silence.
"Oh my god! It’s true! It is you!" A masculine voice sounded.
Caesar turned to the direction of the voice and a skinny fair skinned man with messy black hair.
"Oh my god! It is Caesar Moon!" The man said excitedly as he pointed at Caesar while looking away with a smile, "Guys! Look! It’s the usurper Caesar Moon!"
"Wait, really?!" A feminine voice sounded.
"For real?!" A masculine voice sounded.
A fair skinned female beastfolk with long pink hair and a bespectacled dark skinned man with black stretched out their necks and caught notice of Caesar staring at them with her usual plain expression.
"Oh. My. Gosh...." Both the pink haired beastfolk and the dark skinned man said.
"Caesar! Caesar! Caesar!" The fair skinned man said with a smile as he rushed towards Caesar and closed the distance, leading her to subconsciously step back.
"Oh... I can’t believe it! It’s the usurper in the flesh!" The fair skinned man continued as his friends stood behind him, "I watched your interview and you were so fucking cool!"
"Yeah, I like how you told off everyone including the hypocrites that calls themselves fans!" The female beastfolk said with a wide smile.
"That was so hardcore!" The bespectacled man said, "By the way, I am your biggest fan."
"Don’t listen to him. I’m your biggest fan." The female beastfolk said to Caesar.
"No, I am your biggest fan!" The bespectacled man said as he pointed his thumb at himself.
"Please, you weren’t even interested in ero-wrestling until you saw Caesar fighting Damien Bane!" The pink haired beastfolk replied to the man as she furrowed her brows.
"Can I have your autograph?!" The fair skinned man asked with a huge grin as he brought out a jotter and pen.
Caesar stared at the man for a time before she turned her back to walk away, leaving the man’s friends behind him surprised.
The man however still maintained his smile and spoke.
"Maybe another time?!" The man asked.
"She’s probably not in the mood." The man whispered to his friends.
Caesar continued walking with her arms in her pockets while staring at the ground.
At the time she was still walking, she raised her head and saw AJ Zero from afar who at the time was wearing a yellow shirt, navy green baggy trousers and a white sneakers with black accents while carrying a bag of groceries with one hand and looking inside of it.
AJ then raised his head and caught sight of Caesar which led him to smile and wave his free hand.
Caesar on the other hand, closed her eyes and sighed.
Minutes later AJ and Caesar were walking beside each other and talking while Caesar was drinking from a juice box.
"Congratulations on your win." AJ said to Caesar while smiling, "You really brought the fight to Damien."
"I watched the match. As much as I beat Damien, what made him lose is because he wanted to land his move again." Caesar replied, "Cedric was right. Damien’s weakness is himself.
If he had gone for the pin after hitting me with his bane-breaker, I would have lost. His pettiness and need to be the one in control cost him the match."
"Well, it doesn’t matter, though." AJ said with a smile as he closed both eyes, "You still won. You went blow for blow with the poisonous son and for a rookie was facing Damien as her third, that was impressive.
The butt-smash to the groin and the finishing move had a lot of people on the EBW page talking about what to name it."
"Did they think of a name?" Caesar asked.
"Yeah. The turnbuckle butt-smash they called it ’Full Moon’ and the move you used to win, they called it ’The eclipse’." AJ answered.
"They called the ass to the balls ’Full... Moon’?" Caesar asked with a raised brow as she turned to AJ.
"Yeah!" AJ answered.
"Wow. What a stupid name." Caesar said as she turned her face away, "Oh well. Whatever they want to call it, that’s their business."
"You... Uh... The interview with Dazzle... Uh..." AJ nervously said as he was scratching his head.
Caesar, understanding what AJ was going to say, closed her eyes and exhaled.
"Let me guess: You’re going to ask if I made the right decision making an enemy out of the entire talent in the company, right?" Caesar asked.
"Y-yeah..." AJ answered.
"You’re not the first to ask, and hopefully I pray you are the last. Otherwise I’m gonna lose my shit." Caesar said, "And it’s just as I said to the others, I said what I said, there is no turning back now."
AJ and Caesar stayed quiet for a while until AJ nervously spoke.
"C-Caesar...?"
"What?" Caesar asked.
"I-I’m sorry." AJ said.
"For what?" Caesar asked.
"The nickname they labeled you... The usurper... I-I didn’t know it was that bad..." AJ said, " when Damien explained the meaning behind it to you in the cafe... I didn’t... I really thought it was a cool nickname."
"You’re a rookie like me. Of course you wouldn’t know." Caesar answered, "And I don’t mind if they call me that anymore. I like that name and I’ve taken it. So that’s that."
Caesar and AJ stayed quiet again until AJ spoke out.
"Uh... Caesar...?"
"Yes?" Caesar asked.
"Am I as bad as the others?" AJ asked.
"Huh?" Caesar said in confusion as she glanced at AJ.
"I said majority of the guys there are pieces of shits, you are not among them." Caesar replied as she resumed facing forward once again, "You don’t seem like it, though your lack of confidence is annoying, but you’re pretty chill.
But does it matter what I think of you? What about what you think of yourself?"
"So we are still friends?" AJ asked with a smile.
"Sure... Sure, sure. Friends." Caesar answered.
"That makes me happy." AJ said with a hearty smile while closing his eyes.
Caesar’s ears flattened as she was slightly getting annoyed with his behavior.
Caesar then exhaled and spoke.
"Enough about me. Let’s talk about you."
"Huh? Me?" AJ asked.
"Your match with Magoi was something else.
No one thought you’d win. I thought the match was going to be your funeral, but you proved everyone wrong." Caesar said as she turned at AJ, "Congratulations."
"Oh... Uhm... Thanks?" AJ said.
"Though, I gotta say, even though she wasn’t trying with you, the mere fact that you beat her was crazy, especially since it was an unsanctioned match." Caesar said, "After I watched the match between Damien and I on B-cube, I saw what people were calling you... ’The slayer’.
That’s a cute nickname. Almost sounds heroic."
"Slayer, huh?" AJ said as he tilted his head down, "To be honest, when I fought Magoi, I was so scared. She was so strong... So fast, powerful and brutal... Yet she was barely trying. Just feeling the first punch from her felt like my soul left my body.
Everything I did seemed so meaningless that I considered running for my life. I don’t even remember beating her.
The doctors said my body was a mess and showed me how bad it was."
"If it weren’t for the company’s advanced medical tech, I would have been a dead man." AJ continued as Caesar narrowed her eyes, "If I had died, my sisters would have lost their big step brother and my father and my step mother...In that hospital... They would have died too without me to pay their bills.
I’m so worthless."
"In as much as I beat Magoi, I don’t want to face her again." AJ said as Caesar continued sipping from her juice box, "She’s like that one boss from a video game you beat but never want to go back to again.
I know that as much I don’t want to, that one day, I will be booked against her again."
"Yep. You definitely will." Caesar said flatly.
"Anyway." Caesar said as turned her face away, "That move you used to beat Magoi... That running headbutt to the solar plexus... You should keep it. Make it as your finishing move for your next match and the matches after.
It suits you."
"Really?!" AJ asked.
"Yep. You just need to give the move a name." Caesar replied.
"Uh, sure!" AJ said excitedly, "I’ll -"
AJ was interrupted as he bumped into something warm but firm.
As soon he looked up, his eyes widened as he stared at the towering frame of the seven-foot-five female beastfolk Magoi whose shadow drowned out both AJ and Caesar, leading AJ to subconsciously step backwards.
"Oh, hello... AJ." Magoi said with a grin.
Caesar seeing this, quietly stepped aside while sipping from her juice box with her detached expression as this didn’t concern her.
"H-h-hello, Magoi." AJ said nervously.
"My, my. What a coincidence. It’s as if fate wanted us to meet today." Magoi said while still grinning as she crossed her arms.
"Y-yeah..." AJ replied with a shaky smile.
"By the way, congratulations on your win against me in the pre-show of House of Legends on Wednesday. You deserve it." Magoi said.
"Thanks...?" AJ replied as his nervous smile grew.
"I heard they are now calling you the slayer online. That’s a very cute nickname. It suits you." Magoi said.
"I-I heard that too, but I’m not sure I-I am w-worthy for such a name." AJ replied while Caesar raised a brow.
"Being cute and modest? You’re such a sweetheart." Magoi said, "You know... Our match was so good that the fans gave us a five and a half stars. They are also hoping for a rematch between us very soon.
They can’t wait, and truth be told..."
"Neither can I." Magoi continued as her grin grew.
Magoi then drew her face lower towards AJ as her irises glowed and continued speaking with her disturbing grin as the corners of her sharp teeth flashed.
"When the match first started, I had no interest in you. But as you kept pushing hard and eventually took the victory, something in my perception... Changed.
Like the match felt unfinished, and I can’t seem to shake off that feeling."
"Among every opponent I have faced, both male and female, there is something so mesmerizing about hurting you." Magoi said as AJ’s lips slightly parted in fear, "Physically, erotically. I can’t describe that feeling that separates you from the others.
But I’m patient... Because I know we’ll meet again and by that time, you would have gotten some experience to make the match sweeter. Like adding seasoning to a food.
Until then I wish you the best in your matches... Slayer."
After Magoi had finished speaking, she placed her massive right hand on AJ’s skull which easily enveloped it and started patting him.
After she was done, Magoi walk past AJ but in doing so, she took a quick look at Caesar and her face changed to that of disgust.
"Usurper." Magoi said.
As soon as Magoi left, Caesar stared at her direction with her emotionless expression before she returned her gaze back to AJ.
However, she immediately took notice of AJ’s shirt drenched.
AJ on the other hand was sweating intensively to the point his top was soaked while staring down at the ground in fear with widened eyes.
