Her voice suddenly became possessive.

"All of you remember this. You are my husbands. If I ever catch you looking at another girl, even if she’s underage, I won’t allow it."

One of the men seemed amused. "You are overthinking things."

He chuckled. "Na Na, how about this? We’ll give you a massage. Anyway, we’ve already killed that little girl."

Another man laughed and mocked, "Well, even if that little girl wanted to seduce us, she was stupid to the core. How could she possibly believe that humans like us would take a liking to her?"

His laughter became louder.

"It was truly hilarious, especially when we chopped off her hand. The way she screamed and the way she became terrified..."

He sighed in satisfaction.

"I was satisfied. From the looks of it, she was already about to become a zombie king. The only regret is that if we had waited until she had fully transformed before killing her, we could have gained a zombie king crystal for free."

Meng Zhi heard every word. Her heart became colder. Hateful humans. This entire world was filled with pests. This entire world didn’t deserve to live.

Perhaps this zombie apocalypse hadn’t arrived because of some accident. Perhaps even God had become disgusted with the living pests crawling across the earth.

As those thoughts invaded her mind, Meng Zhi lowered her head and looked at Lina’s face. A growl suddenly escaped her throat.

It was low at first. Then it grew louder. The sound was so strange and terrifying that even the people inside the villa heard it clearly.

They immediately became alert and rushed toward the window. When they saw Meng Zhi kneeling in the snow, holding Lina’s head in her arms, all of them froze.

"Is she... the mother of that girl?"

"From the looks of it, she might come after us for revenge."

The sexy woman was now clearly visible. She had jet-black hair and an exceptionally beautiful face. She merely snorted.

"Even if she wants revenge, what can she do? You have superpowers."

She glanced toward one of the men. "Go and deal with her."

One of her husbands shook his head. "I don’t know why, but I keep feeling that her shout just now was abnormal."

Everyone looked at Meng Zhi more carefully. Then their expressions changed. Meng Zhi’s eyes had become deep crimson.

Meanwhile, Meng Zhi felt as though darkness was surging through every corner of her body. Yet she couldn’t feel the darkness.

She couldn’t feel the cold. She could only feel one thing. Her heart was being ripped apart. She desperately wanted to return to the past.

She wanted to stop Lina from entering that villa. If she had done that... perhaps she could have saved her little angel. But she had been one step too late.

As that thought crossed her mind, tears began to fall from her eyes. Except they weren’t tears. They were blood.

Crimson blood flowed down her cheeks, making her beautiful face look terrifying. It was as though her entire world had entered a new, darker phase.

A phase where the colors of the world would slowly disappear until nothing remained except red. Meng Zhi sobbed uncontrollably.

Far away, at least thirty kilometers from her location, Tong Zhu suddenly stopped. His expression changed.

He had heard that cry. Without hesitation, he moved in Meng Zhi’s direction.

Meanwhile, back at the villa, the group slowly realized that Meng Zhi had no intention of attacking them.

Na Na immediately ordered one of her husbands, a handsome man wearing spectacles, "Ji Liao, it’s your turn. Go and show me what you can do."

Ji Liao nodded. "All right."

He walked outside the villa. The moment he stepped into the snow, cold air began gathering around his hands. A snowball quickly formed between his palms before transforming into sharp ice shards.

The next second... Whoosh! An ice shard shot toward Meng Zhi.

Meng Zhi instinctively turned her body and protected Lina. The ice shard pierced into her shoulder. Meng Zhi didn’t even look at the wound.

Her crimson eyes remained fixed on the man wearing spectacles.

She stared at him as if she wanted to kill him with nothing but her gaze. If looks could kill, Ji Liao would have already died. Instead, he simply sneered.

"What?"

His voice was filled with mockery. "Do you truly think you’re some kind of psychic superpowered human who can defeat me?"

One after another, the sharp shards struck Meng Zhi’s body, becoming embedded in her flesh.

She simply hugged Lina’s entire body and head protectively, as if she wanted to hide the little girl from the last bit of cruelty this world had to offer.

These were humans. They couldn’t be protected. They shouldn’t be protected. Those words slowly seeped into her mind.

Then... Growl! A zombie’s roar echoed through the surrounding area. Within moments, the sound of countless zombies began rising from every direction.

More and more zombies started gathering around the villa, drawn by the blood and the powerful fluctuations coming from the battle.

Meng Zhi slowly raised her head. Her crimson eyes stared toward the villa. "Kill them... Kill them all."

She tightened her arms around Lina. "They don’t deserve to live."

The moment those words fell, the surrounding zombies suddenly surged forward. Like a tide of corpses, they rushed toward the villa.

However, at that exact moment, another group happened to be passing through the area.

It was the Superpower Humans Association.

The organization had only recently begun recruiting superhumans, yet in just a short period, more than fifty people had already joined.

Their convoy had been travelling through the area when the terrifying growls reached them. Everyone inside the bus became alert.

"What is that?"

"Too many zombies."

"We should avoid them."

The commander of the group, Bu Liang, was about to give the order to change their route when a brilliant flash suddenly appeared in the distance.

Lightning. Then ice, followed by greenish energy and then whitish energy.
