The commotion was so great that even from such a distance, they could clearly see the terrifying fluctuations of superpowers.

Bu Liang narrowed his eyes. "Stop the bus."

The bus came to a halt. He stared toward the distant villa. "There is a superhuman fighting there."

One of the members frowned. "There are too many zombies. We don’t even know how strong the enemy is."

Bu Liang shook his head. "We should go and protect that group of superhumans."

His words immediately made the fifty superhumans excited.

They had been hunting zombies for eleven days.

They had faced countless dangerous situations during that period, and none of them were inexperienced anymore.

They had trained until even the appearance of a Level 10 zombie wouldn’t immediately force them to retreat.

"Let’s go!"

"Move!"

The bus quickly accelerated toward the battlefield. Soon, they arrived.

And the scene that appeared before them became something they would never forget.

Five humans were lying in pools of blood.

Their bodies were covered in wounds, and none of them looked capable of standing again.

Yet standing in front of them was Meng Zhi. She was laughing hysterically. Her crimson eyes were frighteningly empty, while blood covered her clothes.

Beside her stood another zombie, Tong Zhu. Unlike the other zombies, he wasn’t attacking randomly.

He was simply standing there, looking at the humans with a cold and terrifying expression.

A creepy laugh escaped his throat. It sounded almost as though he were enjoying the scene.

But only five minutes earlier, everything had been completely different.

Meng Zhi had been continuously attacked by five superhumans. Nana and her four husbands. Nana stood at the back of the group.

She was a beautiful woman with long jet-black hair, dressed in a fitted black jacket. Lightning constantly crackled between her fingers.

Beside her stood Ji Liao, the handsome man wearing spectacles. His superpower was ice.

Another husband was a tall, broad-shouldered man named Hu Jian, whose ability allowed him to manipulate earth.

The third was a lean man named Mo Chen, who could manipulate wind.

The last was a muscular man named Lei Shan, whose ability strengthened his body to an abnormal degree.

They had surrounded Meng Zhi from five different directions. "You bitch!"

Nana’s eyes flashed with hatred. "How dare you show tantrums in front of us? You are nothing but a zombie now!"

A thick bolt of lightning slammed toward Meng Zhi. "Feel the power of my thunder!"

At the same time, Ji Liao raised his hands. Countless ice shards appeared around him.

"Freeze!"

Hu Jian stomped his foot.

The ground beneath Meng Zhi suddenly erupted, sending sharp stone spikes toward her.

Mo Chen swept his arm forward. A violent gust of wind compressed into a razor-sharp blade and tore through the air.

Lei Shan didn’t bother using a long-range attack. He simply charged. His muscles swelled as his superpower strengthened his body.

"Die!"

Five different attacks arrived simultaneously. Meng Zhi couldn’t dodge.

She could only hold Lina tightly.

Then... Boom!

A translucent barrier suddenly appeared around her, dispelling all the superpower attacks.

Lei Shan’s fist slammed into the barrier and was violently thrown backward. Everyone froze.

"What?"

Even Meng Zhi was stunned. She had expected pain. But there was none.

She slowly looked up. Someone was walking toward her. Tong Zhu.

Meng Zhi’s crimson eyes trembled. "She died... They... are killers."

Her words became increasingly choked. "They killed her..."

Tong Zhu stopped. For the first time, he looked carefully at Meng Zhi.

A zombie was crying, grieving, and speaking. There was something profoundly abnormal about it.

His eyes flashed with a strange glint. Then he calmly said, "Don’t worry."

His gaze shifted toward Nana and her four husbands. "I will take revenge on her behalf."

The next second, Tong Zhu disappeared.

Lei Shan barely managed to raise his arms before a fist smashed into his chest. His body flew backward and crashed through the villa’s outer wall.

"What the hell?!"

Mo Chen immediately summoned a powerful wind current. The wind wrapped around Tong Zhu, attempting to slow his movements.

But Tong Zhu simply forced his way through it. His speed was terrifying. To the others, his body seemed to flicker.

One moment he was in front of Mo Chen.

The next...Bang! A fist struck Mo Chen’s jaw, and his body spun through the air.

Nana reacted quickly.

Lightning gathered around both of her arms before she released a barrage of electrical attacks. "Don’t underestimate me!"

Lightning bolts tore through the air. Tong Zhu twisted his body. One bolt grazed his shoulder, and his flesh instantly burnt.

Tong Zhu grunted. For the first time, green blood appeared on his body. But he didn’t stop. He rushed straight toward Nana.

Ji Liao immediately intervened. A massive wall of ice erupted between them.

Tong Zhu’s fist smashed into it and the ice wall shattered. Ji Liao’s pupils contracted.

Before he could retreat, Tong Zhu grabbed his collar and threw him across the ground.

"Ji Liao!"

Nana screamed. Hu Jian took advantage of the opening.

He slammed both hands onto the ground. The earth violently rose behind Tong Zhu.

A massive stone fist formed and smashed toward his back.

Tong Zhu was struck and staggered forward. Blood trickled from the corner of his mouth.

Hu Jian’s eyes brightened. "Got you!"

He raised another stone fist.

But Tong Zhu suddenly disappeared. Hu Jian’s expression changed.

"Where..."

Bang. Tong Zhu appeared directly in front of him. His knee slammed into Hu Jian’s abdomen.

The man’s body folded before being thrown several metres away.

Mo Chen, still dizzy from the earlier attack, desperately summoned a cyclone.

The wind rapidly expanded, turning into a violent tornado that swept everything around it into the air.

Tong Zhu’s body was caught inside.

His clothes were ripped apart, and several cuts appeared across his arms and chest.

Yet through the violent winds, his eyes remained fixed on Mo Chen.

Just as he was about to make his move, he suddenly noticed that Meng Zhi’s expression had changed.

The anger and panic that had filled her face moments ago were slowly disappearing.

Her crimson eyes became strangely calm. Tong Zhu stared at her for a moment.

He understood.

Because of her upbringing, she was constantly used to not fighting back. If he wanted to change her nature, he would have to trigger it.

Since she didn’t want to become like the other zombies, he would show her the consequences of not being one

Tong Zhu’s eyes flickered.

Then, almost imperceptibly, the corner of his lips curved upward.

He would unleash the hatred in her heart and let her unlock her potential.

Tong Zhu suddenly stopped. He lowered his arms. He no longer dodged.

"What are you doing?"

Meng Zhi’s eyes widened.

Tong Zhu didn’t answer.

Mo Chen’s wind blade came screaming toward him. Tong Zhu deliberately stood still.

Slash! The blade cut deeply across his chest. Green blood splattered across the ground.

"Tong Zhu!"

Meng Zhi shouted. Tong Zhu staggered backward, but he remained standing.

Nana immediately seized the opportunity.

"Don’t let him recover!"

Lightning gathered around her hands. The bolt struck Tong Zhu directly.

His body flew backward and crashed heavily into the ground. Meng Zhi’s face turned pale.

"Tong Zhu!"

She was about to rush over. But Tong Zhu slowly raised his head.

Their eyes met. There was no panic in his eyes. Instead, there was an almost frightening calmness.

He could have avoided that attack. Meng Zhi knew it.

So why hadn’t he dodged? When she saw Tong Zhu getting slashed, Meng Zhi’s hands again began to tremble. "Stop!"

She screamed. But Tong Zhu only smiled. He wanted her to see this. Finally, Tong Zhu fell to one knee.

He looked toward Meng Zhi. "Meng Zhi... Even now... You’re still planning to stay silent?"

Meng Zhi froze. Tong Zhu slowly raised his head.

"If you’re going to keep hesitating, then perhaps you shouldn’t fight anymore."

His gaze shifted toward Lina. "After all, you’ve already lost someone you loved once. And now you’re just going to sit there and watch another person die?"

"But... But.. I.. "

"Don’t tell me you are still following the advice your father gave you even though he had sold you. Accept it. He never loved you." Tong Zhu gave a light chuckle

Those words struck Meng Zhi like a knife.

Tong Zhu knew he had succeeded.

He lowered his head, hiding the faint smile on his face.

He wanted her to stop caring about whether killing humans was right or wrong.

He wanted her to understand that in this world, hesitation meant losing the people she cared about.

Meng Zhi slowly looked at Lina.

Yes... Why should she act like a pathetic person and not take revenge on those who wronged her?

Slowly she stood up and started to walk towards Mo Chen, who quickly tried to create another tornado and shouted simultaneously,

"Don’t do it, you are just courting death! We are five..."
