Chapter 217: Chapter 217: Fami’s Invitation

When Kotone Asaba heard Asa Mitaka identify Makima as the Control Devil, he immediately realized that the War Devil must have recognized her.

It was not a particularly important matter, so Kotone returned to his own thoughts.

Although the Famine Devil’s page had now been unlocked in the Affinity Codex, he had no intention of actively seeking her out.

The Famine Devil’s target was the War Devil. Now that the War Devil had merged with Asa, Famine would inevitably discover it sooner or later, assuming she did not already know. That meant it was only a matter of time before she approached Asa.

It really was the Famine Devil. The name she had chosen for herself was Fami.

"Then why was I invited too?" Asa asked in confusion.

"I-I’m sorry! I’m not really sure either. Fami didn’t explain everything in detail," the girl replied anxiously.

"All right..."

To be honest, Asa had never been particularly interested in the Devil Hunter Club.

However, she would gladly join if it could help her become an official Devil Hunter in the future, because that would allow her to grow closer to Kotone.

She was also very concerned about whether Kotone and Makima would accept the invitation. If they agreed, she definitely would not refuse.

"Thank you to all the first-year students for coming!"

"Welcome to the Devil Hunter Club entrance test!"

"Our Devil Hunter Club only accepts elites capable of fighting Devils!"

"Next, you will patrol the town and hunt Devils in teams of three!"

"Only those who return within one week carrying a Devil’s corpse will pass the test!"

An upperclassman from the Devil Hunter Club was currently speaking into a microphone.

Many first-year students wanted to join the club. Most of them either considered becoming a Devil Hunter a great honor or harbored intense hatred toward Devils.

Kotone, Makima, and Asa were naturally present as well. Although the student council had invited them, they received no special privileges.

Kotone did not want the privilege of joining the club directly. Doing so would make the other students suspicious, and he had no intention of carelessly exposing his true identity yet. That would interfere with his future plans.
